[33] Painting a Silk Scarf with Alcohol Ink Markers

After a friend gifted me some alcohol ink markers, I decided to give them a try on a silk scarf. In this video, I use 4 different colors to create a beautiful silk scarf (11" x 60") hand painted with alcohol ink markers. I used Cobalt Blue, Baby Blue, Cool Grey and Blue Grey.

Make sure to work in a well ventilated area and/or wear a respirator mask. After painting the silk, I let it dry then I soak it in cold water with white distilled vinegar & iodized salt (video link below).

Does alcohol ink technique works on cotton as well?

Joyce, I have not tried alcohol inks on cotton so I do not know whether it will work or not. My guess is that the cotton will quickly absorb the ink so you would get very different results. Only way to know is to try it on a small sample piece of cotton. 😀
