This game is full of details and I wanted to share why we all bought this game and why it sold over 20 million copies.
Dying Light is 10 years old but I'm still discovering new things

Dying Light was released on January 27, 2015. It's been 10 years! I've compiled everything into one long video since everyone was asking, please enjoy!

Crazy how this game is better in details than most others
I really liked how easy it was to find my way around the city without needing to use the map. The design felt natural, unlike Dying Light 2, where I always had to pin locations on the map to know where to go.
I still struggle with this on the DL2 map

The dl2 map looks the same everywhere, this is why its hard to navigate.
This game was an absolute masterpiece. It needs a ps5 port.
Dying Light is one of the few games that doesn't get bored playing countless of times besides Dead Island 1.
It's a shame Dead Island is so awfully clunky.

Dying Light 1 will always have a special place in my heart. Helped me through my tough times. Met so many awesome online friends around the world, still buddies till today. Something bout this game that makes me feel relax. Thanks for uploading this ❤😊

and people just called me a hater... dying light 2 is shit compared to this one. I already said that dying light 2 engine has nothing to do with dying light 1.
Now hopefully everything that you showed in this compilation video on Dying Light one they bring into Dying Light The Beast so I hope the Techland game developers are taking notes and possibly watching your video MUAXH.😁🙏

One of my favourite games of all time. Most games the combat gets repetitive but this never does, and it's got so many layers to the horror too. If they focused on the story more it would be goated. Music is unreal too
I bought this on release for PS4 and i remember it feeling truly "next gen" in terms of how visually dense the world was. From the detailed textures, debris everywhere, and stuff flying in the wind, it was almost hard to "explore" at first because i was so distracted by how much information was crammed into a single block or building.
since 2018 with the saga and only today, 2025, I found out that the pipes of the following can be closed, I am a false fan :,c
Dying Light, days gone are some of my best open world zombie games played. Days gone could use some refinement if any sequels are being planned

This is why i love dying. Nostalgia from videos when i was little , soundtrack , parkour , lore , combat , story , a buggy and more. This is the only game that is perfect so far out of the games i have ever played in my life and Dying light 1 will be my number 1 fav game forever.
In The Following, during one of the missions there is a dialogue referring to the main plot of The Witcher 3 describing what happened to the Baron of Velen and his wife and daughter

I seriously had to re-install Dying Light one more time after watching this clip. In all honesty, Dying Light is the best zombie game I've ever played so far.
I don't know why but one reason why I like this game so much is because of the in-game music. The music is so important in ANY game! One single reason why I still remember some games is because of the in-game music.
FYI....everytime before sleep i watch your dying light compilation vids until I slept (iluv the sound of dropkick)

I've played this and The Following twice. Don't remember tightening pipes with a ratchet wrench in the countryside. That powerline zipline trick would have been handy to know years ago. 😅

We all hoped DL2 would be more like the first game. DL2 has improved a hell of a lot (apart from the trees growing on soiless tin rooves). It would be nice to be back in nostalgic Harran sometime.
Dying light 1, for being a 10 year old game, is better than most games out today.

Easy to spot that it's not a real reflection though. There's no way with the way you move the camera that the player still faces directly to the machete.
What you see is a texture overlay applied to reflective surfaces like this, and a constraint to make that texture always face the camera.
You can also prove this in that very same clip right before it ends. You have no-clip camera turned on yet the player's reflection still stares at the camera.
Pretty funny once you notice this😂

Really hope that this new update introduces an Fov slider on consoles.
To me dying light 1 is the zombie equivalent of skyrim, i just cant get enough of it the music, the story, the combat, the character's, kyle motherf*ckin crane, the parkour. all of them blend together in such a seamless way that you genuinely forget the passage of time and you can fool peope into making them believe this game is much younger then it actually is, my best friend had never played the game before so it came as a shock to him when i actually told him this game came out in 2015, it trully is a timeless classic not only as a zombie game, but as a videogame in general its something everyone should experience at least once.

A true dying light fan here since I watched the whole thing.
Did you know, in the mission when you have to rescue Zera from Rais's tower. You can find a little John Wick easter egg. If you look around on the desks you can find a pencil stuck in one of them with blood. Obviously a reference to John killing 3 guys with a Pencil. 😅

I’m not sure if it's because I played Dying Light 1 more or because I grew up with it, but DL1 always felt like it had a better atmosphere than DL2. In DL1, it genuinely felt like the end of the world. In DL2, it seems like the world could be fine if not for the politics and other issues. The characters handle the zombies so well that they don't even seem like a significant threat.

We need a *Days Gone* video in this same vein! (It also had a lot of amazing attention to detail, especially the whole lightning hitting zombie thing, which even DL doesn't do, crazy.)
edit: yo... WTAF. I learned some new things I wasn't expecting at all. Now I already knew all too well than to stupidly believe I know and/or have seen everything any game has to offer no matter how many playthroughs and hundreds of hours were poured into it, but the self-reflection on weaponry and pipe weapon fixing leaking pipes were some crazy enlightening features I did not know about. And that's just some stuff. Man... I already knew DL is a masterpiece, but this video left me speechless... expanded my already wide perspective. This might actually for once in the gaming industry live up to usual meaninglessly, overused "best insert-genre game ever made!" The only thing I could imagine rivaling it are the ones with fairly deep simulation elements (which I haven't exactly played, and mostly exist on PC).

45 million players (across both games) is what they said. Lots of that will be gamepass, free weekend players and duplicates.
I played both games and DL2 on PS4 and PS5. They probably count that as 3 players in their statistics.

This video is incredibly confusingly structured. Starting with fun facts, then random dislikes about dying light, then repeating facts, and now I’m just confused. Good video tho, i play on ps5 and there hasn’t been a next gen update, so I’ve never seen the game on max graphics, the rain is pretty.
