Excellent discussion revealing facts which mamy rather most Indians are not aware, these facts should be part of curriculum so that the current generation knows facts.
With Indian Govt's restraint, the operations had to be limited to the Kargil area...
The Military had to obey the instructions of Govt.
Otherwise, it was easy for Military to open up some other fronts eg. Jammu, Punjab, Rajasthan etc.
So that, India would have got the bargaining point against Pakistan..
That was a great discussion as we all expect from Ms Barkha Dutt who had become a household name during Kargil war....The one question which was not asked but I hope is answer in the book is Army reluctance to settle the ' Sir Creek ' issue....
