We got (Voice)Played again. These guys take a song that should NEVER work as a cappella and then just kill it. And us in the process. Geoff with his arrangement skill and that bass backbeat, Eli the rock god swapping those high tenor parts with an equally talented Anthony, Sassy Cesar showing us not just his voice but a bit of 'tude as well, and then LAYNE!!!! OMG Layne! They are all taking huge risks lately and it's paying off in spades! I really have to give kudos to their hidden member Ed Boyer too for his genius mixing.
Anthony was featured with VoicePlay in their cover of "Golden Hour" and had a cameo appearance when they did "Just sing."
He has also done a few ‘Shorts’ with them.
VoicePlay has all their "weapons" fully loaded
i think their biggest strong suit as a band is they can ft. anyone and make it sound like they have been performing together for decades
Anthony was in Golden Hour, Just Sing and several Minis. He has an amazing voice. Can't wait to hear him again. Hopefully soon!! I'm one of those folks that live on another planet, possibly in another solar system... I hadn't heard this before. Now I just can't get enough of it.
Anthony Gargiula (pronounced GAR-DUE-LA) is an amazing vocalist and has some brilliant short videos on TikTok. I expect we will be eeing a lot more of him with Voiceplay in the future. I would love him to be on a video with Rachel Potter as I think they could blend really well.
Geoff/Layne is insane here. I mean......Oh.my.GOD. And that bass back beat running underneath the whole thing short-circuited my brain. 😳🤯

I cannot stop watching reactors getting broke by this song...this song broke me as well. Geoff Arranged this one and they just seem to get better with each cover they do!! I just do not know how they do it. There are no words at all. And Anthony has the voice of an angel with all those runs...OMG!!! Loved your reaction!

He's bringing back the 4 Dwarves from Far Over The Misty Mountain Cold. It is absolutely beautiful. They all get a solo part this time.
The fact that each of the Geoffs gets their own solo its one of my favorite things about the video. High tenor Geoff blew me away. I was expecting the low notes but that high tenor this time just is outstanding🤯.

I know right? That's one of the reasons I love Geoff's videos with clones. He gives them each their own personality. He has them do various things that make it seem like there are 4 different guys instead of just one.
He did that even in his introduction speech on Patreon. How it was funny that all the singers were available to do this.
He's taken the individual name thing and ran with it and I love it.

You missed Anthony featured in their cover of Golden Hour. Anthony was on the Ellen show when he was 7, he's now 24. He hit TIK TOK big with Golden Hour, among others.

These guys are amazing !! Goeff with that base and Layne pairing with him in the background was totally insane!! Anthony sounded like he had been with the group since the beginning. It's pronounced Garjoola. For future reference. He appears with them in Golden Hour. I do think that those sounds you hear are done in post production, and as this was Geoff's arrangement I imagine he tinkered with the voice at that point. But I don't know for sure. I guess I've been living under a rock, or at least in the UK as I didn't know the song previously. :) And frankly I don't care. This version is enough for me.
They just dropped their cover of Phil Collins' In The Air Tonight; I don't think I need to say anymore.

I’m pretty sure you’re the only reactor who has pointed out how the ‘drip’ sound replaces the word. I totally didn’t notice but you’re right that it is very creative. I mean I noticed the sound, just not that it was in place of the word. Neat little detail.
And the bullet casing when Geoff cocks the gun. I figure it’s a post production edit but who knows? Layne can come up with some of the most insanely creative ways to get lifelike sounds!

I love this! It is the latest installment in what I call the "Acapellypse" trilogy, or however many they actually choose to give us. For something completely different, try post modern jukebox with Haley Rheinhart doing this song. Amazing.

Like a *lot* of the songs VP does, I never would've heard of this one if they hadn't covered it. There are of course some exceptions: I was already very familiar with Mountain King, Jingle Bells, Oh Holy Night, O Little Town, Phantom, Little Mermaid, that one song from the movie Ghost, all the songs from Nightmare Before Christmas, a couple of the Boy Bands songs (notably, both of the ones Weird Al did parodies of), several of the Queen songs, and some of the ones in the "ACA Top 10" series; and I had also randomly encountered Still Alive, In My Room (long story involving middle school and cassette tapes), Wayward Son, Butter (because of Pentatonix), Grinch (also because of Pentatonix, though VP's version is much better) and, for some reason, Can't Help Falling in Love, though I don't remember where I'd heard it. Oh, and Elvira, because long story. But I think that's all, or nearly all. Mostly they do songs I've never heard of before. I literally do not know *anyone* IRL who listens to groups like Metallica or Aerosmith or the White Stripes or Panic at the Disco or Billie Eilish, et cetera ad infinitum ad nauseam. I don't know anyone who listens to Queen either, but some of their stuff was big enough to get played/referenced in other contexts, e.g. one of them showed up in a Mickey Mouse cartoon in the eighties and was also parodied by Weird Al; another was played at pep rallies when I was in school; one was in a dumb movie that somebody made me watch at one point about two teenage boys sitting on a couch broadcasting a fake talk show, and was also covered by Pentatonix; and so forth.
Geoff's solo channel tends to cover songs that I *am* already familiar with, but there are some exceptions there too: Geoff was my first introduction to Big Bad John, Blackbird, Castamere, Way Down, and Saddle Up.
Oh, I forgot they did First Noel; obviously I was familiar with that one too. The rock I've been living under is not THAT big.
Also Christmas Don't Be Late and White Christmas, both because of the same long story involving my grandmother's old 8-track player.

I looked the song up and listened to the original as soon as it was announced, wasn't a fan. Loved how Voiceplay remixed it, I could and have listened to it on repeat at least 100 - 1000 times 😅

Not sure if you've ever heard anything by Colm(pronounced like Colum) McGuiness, but Burn Butcher Burn from The Witcher is an amazing one by him.
And he is a great addition to The Bass Gang in the of Yellow Flicker Beat. It’s still my favorite, followed very closely by Jonathan Young in Centuries.
