What a good friend ... alone in a big and difficult and dangerous mountain ... congratulations ... and thanks for sharing the video ... greetings from Colombia
Hey Tim, really nice video man! I will tru Huascaran Norte on July. Did you find a lot of crevasses on youy from C2 to summit ? Which equipments did you have with you on summit day ? Cheers an congratulations ! Pedro from Brazil
NAMASTRIP BLOG Hey thanks! Yes some smaller crevasses through out the climb, but ok to navigate around. I used double technical ice axes because there is a small steep section on the route I went. An avalanche had went off earlier in the season on the steepest section were I climbed up. So some avalanche danger, lookout for this. Dident bring rope, just downclimbed in good conditions around 50-60 degrees slope for 30m. Rest was less vertical on my route. I climbed as the first person for the season and picked route after looking for safest way. Important to remember were you climbed up from without a rope otherwise very steep sections around. Very nice experience I wish you good luck not many people climb Norte. Best way is with partner and roped up because the mountain is different every year. Enjoy!
Cheers Tim, I appreciate your answer. Really good to hear something about the north summit, everyone wants to do the south one. Actually, I was think in try both summits on July, let's see how the mountain will be this year, but I am planning to go with a partner, bring a rope, some snow stakes and some sticks to mark the way up. I really appreciate your attention, thanks a lot Tim.
climbing a mountain alone is another level!
There is always a next level :)
