It might need alkaline batteries. Heavy Duty batteries are different. My son bought a RC robot brand new; put those sunbeam HD batteries and it didn’t work. After reading the instructions it specifically said not to use HD batteries. We spent the extra money on Alkaline and it worked perfectly. Just a suggestion
It is most likely the positive wire they often are loose its an easy fix to reattach it also the motors get dusty so air can it ..I found one of these today mine did work so definitely mine needs some tlc missing both that top sensor and the long piece
Even if ARTOO doesn’t work, it looks fantastic! Maybe do some dry brushing or touching up to make him look weathered. Either way, STILL a great find! It’s a blank canvas
Dude, please let us know next time you are at Disney. We are passholders and only live 40 minutes away and would love to meet up and say hello....ya Creep
Good pick up! Sorry! it did not work! You still can use D batteries in Flashlights nowadays! Those Sunbeam batteries(D) are not the best, specially if you buy them at a dollar store. They do sell outdated batteries sometimes! Good video!
Very cool. I'm into RC stuff. If you can't find the original doodads for it, just empty the guts and start a new project with rc parts or turn it into a Nintendo(or another console)
Great find. Would be great to see you open it up and try fixing it. First thought might be some sort of safety switch on the legs maybe. So it only operates when upright. Maybe a loose connection or something.
"He has a bad motivator" give that Kid a Lolly!
Good try. Love her comment about the bad motivator...
Cheryl Ringen yeah I chuckled when I heard that
I Remember this big toys ! ☺

Ha! I loved the ending ... little evil CreepBot 😈
That R2-D2 is not an RC one. It’s voice activated only. If it was the RC one. There would be 2 ir sensors on top.

Apparently, someone didn't watch too far or didn't pay attention to the title. Appreciate the heads-up, though.

It's too bad that R2 didn't work when you put the batteries in. It still looks real cool though. I hope you can get it working Creeper.
There have got to be some dedicated toy nerds out there that can help you to get your R2 working. Try this for starters: blog.feedspot.com/toy_blogs/
