Next you should do a basement grow on a budget. Could you grow your peppers under $300? Also you stated you live in an arid region? Ha, well I live in a semi-permafrost, very cold area in the northern hemisphere and have been growing you name it in my basement grow with ambient temps that have hit 39°F and my tropical plants like Mangoes are thriving!
"Shake that bottle like your life depends on it or its been a few weeks since you've had a hot date!" Funniest thing I've ever heard you say. Great video as always! Pretty jealous of your setup Everest; those LED lights look really slick. :)
I have a fan which can go cold or warm . If i put it on warm outside the tent and let intake take it . This keeps temps and RH great but will warm air harm my plants .
What's up Everest? Your videos are among the best here on RUclips and I really appreciate your work. Just wanted to share my experience with my 2 ton Ideal Air mini split unit. I have had nothing but headaches with it because the unit goes into shut down mode whenever there is a change in the humidity levels. I think it's because of the dehumidify feature in the unit getting confused with my portable dehumidifier and sending out a shutdown signal to the unit in an effort to protect the Ideal Air unit and the unit displays an E4 code, the unit stops working until I pull the fuse and push it back in which takes about 5 minutes to reboot. The unit can work for days without a glitch and other days I can experience multiple E4's. This problem has made me a slave to the grow room, I am always on E4 patrol, otherwise my plants will never have a chance of survival. By the way, I'm still using the unit and have been for the past 4 years. I'm still cursing the guy out who sold me that piece of crap!
Hi Joe, thanks for your comment but I'm very sorry to hear about your troubles. I've reached out to an AC engineer friend of mine who had a lot of experience with the 2 ton mini split unit you mention. Hopefully together we can get to the bottom of this. I'll let you know.
+Trew Hoffman I'm just happy that you have found and use the speed controls Trew and don't type "SLOW DOWN MOFO! ARE YOU ON METH?" like some other kind and gentle souls do.
Thanks for showing us the setup! Bummer about the attic...Stinking heat waves. It's bee near 100 here for months :( You should start a 'Go Fund Me' for a warehouse ;)
Hey Everest so glad I found your page and subscribed. What is that white felt material you put on the bottom of your grow tray? Looking to buy something like that for root development. Also the lid you built, what material is that made out of? I use panda sheet or block sheet covers. Dealing with a bunch of algae right now and I’m very annoyed. Any suggestions? (I got the block covers on too late, underestimates the humidity)
Hey there Everest! Definitely want to thank you for being so informative and teaching me a lot in the last month where I have binged watched you so much! Quick question, how would you transplant your seedlings from inside a dome in rapid rooters to 5 gallon pots? Would you recommend going to 1 then 3 and then eventually 5 gallon pots or whats the best way (hydroponic)? Thanks for inspiring me!
Hamish Procter Hello Hanson, thanks for your comments and question. I would strongly recommend going from rapid rooters into a 4" or 5" nursery pot, getting the young plant to the point of needing watering once a day for a while (so it's really bursting to get into something bigger) and then going into a 2 gallon plastic pot, then straight into 5 or even 7. The key is to really get the young plant to exploit its first and intermediate homes before the final destination.
Another excellent video, thank you Everest :D Had a question, would it be possible for you to do a video on the financial side of things? Electricity bills for your setup etc?
So would you rather combat extreme heat or cold? Dry or humidity? We get all no d's of fun stuff in western Washington....at least it's not Michigan I guess. Your a hydro god man!
I'm going to search some more, but do you have any videos describing your 24/7 recirculating gimmic? It's what I am about to do, I just want a confidence boost. . . It's my first time and I'm shy... ha! But really, it's nerve racking to tell myself that roots can be soaked and breathe. I've got it mocked up, just haven't got the 2 ends full circle quite yet. I've got dying clones that I'm going to throw in here to be sure it works before I fill in 120 sites! I'm testing veg time x yield while I dial in the room (and wait out this dang heat) so I can properly size the tubes I'm using and on center spacing between plants. You've definately smoothed out a few parts of the learning curve, there's always tons more to learn. Thank you for your help :)
@@Just4Growers yep, I bought lava rock but it's too big. Might crush it a bit, but it's proving to suck. I've got 4" pvc now but I want atleast 6" for any future projects. Got 2" net pots, diy aero cloner, 24w pump labeled 400gph (what's up with vivosun having a 24w pump that's 800gph? For 18 bucks? Weird). I want to run a sea of green, but no clue how long I can veg. My holes are 6" on center now. 5x 12' runs with 24 plant sites each run. They span to make a 50"x12' canopy under (4) 600w hps lights slammed with air cooled hoods. It will evolve into vertical to see if the added effort every run is worth the added yield. Our friend Mr Robinson has my heart set pretty high with vertical systems so we shall see
everest the best as always good job buddy your videos rock, hope to see more in the future, or maybe some live streaming with qna (just my thoughts) keep it up cause ur my n1 in youtube gotta love the quickness and the knowledge cheers stay frosty

We are messing with the new SMD full sectrum LED's. 168 single mount diodes with a full and perfect sinewave. No switching between grow and bloom required. Just one perfect lightwave at 85 CRI start to finnish. Awesome so far.
+Adam Tanton Now this sounds VERY interesting Adam, thanks for letting me know. Nice fan you've got as your icon by the way. I'm a big fan of those fantastic fans.... can you post a link so I can find out more about the new SMDs?
Adam Tanton cool I was looking at the Spydrx since it was cheaper than Spectrum King sk600. I want to start a grow room for growing vegatables year round using only full spectrum grow lights. I am building the room so far it 8x10x6'7" I'm going to be using Orca white reflective film for inside.
+soundremo Hi Soundremo. I like your plan. A few points you may wish to consider. 1. Dripper rings are better than stakes in non-restrictive media. 2. Consider 10% Gro-Chunks (made by Grodan) in your mix. Just gives you a little more potential notice-time should your pumps fail or droppers clog. 3. Raise the pots up an inch (Gro-Smart trays or NX-level pot stands for example) 4. The key is in the propagation! How do you propagate? Blocks or net pots or something else?
How do you like you like your apogee par meter? The hydrofarms par meter is cheaply made imho. I saw the meter on that and feel it is probably the same, the white plastic feels totally cheap
Hey Everest Q: Do you have any experience using products such as "Evoponics Liquid Ice" ? They claim to help plants still thrive in temperatures Over 86°F/30°C when used from the start of the cycle(not midway through a grow) Your thoughts and opinions on these products and whether they could genuinely do what they claim would be much appreciated as I'm tempted to invest in some.
Hi Jordy, it's funny you should mention that product as I picked some up quite recently at a trade show. "Liquid Ice" is sold as the product "HeatTect" in the greenhouse sector. I understand that it was one of those "accidental discoveries" made by consultants to greenhouse growers in Jordan. These growers were struggling with lost production due to excessive day temperatures above the capacity of their evaporative coolers- air temperatures above 40C! The growers were already using a product called "Proplex" which had been successful in helping field crops cope with moisture stress and reducing abscisic acid production. It utilised mostly plant and fermentation extracts. However it only had limited effect in the greenhouses in Jordan. Meanwhile in the United Kingdom a product called "Radical" (a pure biostimulant rich in betaines and specific pharma-grade L-amino acids) was being used in conjunction with Proplex on drought susceptible crops subject to unusually high temperatures. I'm told that the difference between treated and untreated was astonishing. "Liquid Ice" or "HeatTect" is basically a combination of the active ingredients in Proplex and Radical-designed for use full lifecycle. As a basic explanation: the natural reaction of any plant under stress is to cease production of growth hormones in order to protect itself. "Liquid Ice" essentially overrides this gene expression causing growth hormone production to continue, albeit with a tilt towards root rather than shoot development. The additional ingredients support in the product facilitate successful growth even under these hostile conditions. With fast growing, heavy fruiting annuals the idea is that you use the product from as early in the lifecycle as possible, but before the plants are subject to excessive heat. Preventative rather than cure. For my part I will conduct a simple test using 3ml in 1L water in a hand spray device, applying lightly to the foliage of one or two plants (never spray to run-off) and the following day subjecting all the plants to 30C or above. If all goes to plan I will observe that the treated plants do not wilt.
Everest Fernandez thanks for taking the time to give me such an extensive and detailed insight into how products like "liquid ice" work. it is truely appreciated one of the worst things is buying a product and not knowing whether it will actually does as it says. But you have taken that fear away from me and will be using this product.
Everest Fernandez I would love to see you do an episode on these type of products as I believe I am one of many that struggle with temperatures and don't have the means to put in a A/C. So would you recommend foliar feeding these types of products rather than adding to the Res feed? or are you doing that just for the purposes of your tests and you recommend I stick to the instructions on the bottle? Thanks Again Everest ✌
hey everest! have u tested that myth about music? does it really help plants to grow? i was wondering that since i saw a mythbuster episode but the test shown wasnt very clear to me.. btw nice videos !
I came across your videos because I'm a new time grower and yes I subscribed, but can you please help me kind sir:)... I'm in Las Vegas where it's very hot and dry, with a 10x10 grow tent in a garage, and I'm running high pressure sodium... And disaster struck when I ordered my air conditioner off of Amazon!!! Somehow I screwed up the order and ended up with an air conditioner that runs on water, you know like a swamp cooler omg can I still use this thing to cool my grow tent and if so how should I set it up. My first attempt failed horribly as I just put the whole unit in the tent and came back 20 minutes later and it was a hot humid mess in there!!! I have other equipment that was given to me to work with like a hurricane fan and carbon filter hooked up to the little fan that goes on it.. can I use the unit outside the tent with the box taped with the hole cut out with the ducting going into the tent?
Green Reaper hey amigo - thanks for the message! I’m literally at my desk now making a new video - and plenty more to come after that. I took a study break and worked on some other projects. I got some great footage and learned and ton - so I’ll be back uploading fresh stuff imminently :)
Gabe Kramer "Heavy Feeding Annuals". 😉 But I particularly enjoy his hints at his 'other audience'. I literally laugh out loud. I'm a Federally legal medical grower in Canada. Indoor gardens are sort of a requirement up here in urban Canada. Of the million cannabis tubers this guy would be #1 based on personality, delivery and editing. Either way. This channel is a gold mine of applied theory and well deployed testing. Just awesome.
+Jacques Krause Thanks for your comment Jacques. Outdoors, light loving plants can endure 2000 uMol - 1000 is a sensible top limit indoors. It's not so much a question of "too much light" as it is "too little CO2" - 1600 uMol is overkill for my situation as I have yet to supplement CO2 above atmospheric levels. To be fair the fixture was a little closer than the manufacturer recommends (30" rather than 36") - this is a topic that deserves some focus time for sure!
I have 4 of the HLG 260W kits running a total of 8 QB304 boards. Spectrum of 4 3000k, 2 3500k and 2 5000k (for veg) This is all in an 8x4 tent, and internode spacing is ridiculous. Crazy efficient and just started flowering (100% of this grow under QB's) Can't wait to harvest, expecting some pretty decent yields / watt. Thanks for your videos, you're a saint to the indoor gardening community.
I might, I definitely don't have all the fancy equipment to measure actual PAR output and things of that nature, but I just might. And yessir, sold it a while ago, but I've replaced it with a few cooler rides.
Good question Ric! Thanks for asking. I'm not testing these lights in discrete environments, yet-this is what my attic is designed for with the separate grow tents. I just need to get cooling installed up there and / or wait for the fall / winter to commence that work. For now, I'm just seeing how these lights "get along" in the same room (no choice, really) - but I totally take your point on board for now and I won't be drawing any concrete conclusions until I do.
losing alot of light by not walling up your grow space example a true 4x4 space should be able to be covered by 1000 watts hps or led equivalent. bet your par ratings would be through the roof if you did this as well as your yields. bloom go all out with the led plants like full spectrum and more par equal bigger yield.
+Dillon Griffin Thanks for your feedback, Dillon. You're right of course, light loss is an issue, especially with sources which throw light out at an angle (not such a big deal with LED) - ironically I made the compromise for physical access to get my video camera into different spots. :)
+John Roa Fluence publish their PPFD averages across a 4x4 on their website (900+ umol) fluence.science/store/spydr-series/spydrx-plus/ at six inches above the canopy. I have verified this with my quantum meter. But the question of "better" is not totally satisfied by the number of photons in the PAR range. There is more to it. Spectral quality / plant response, canopy penetration at a realistic hanging distance - I feel six inches may be too close for some heat sensitive crops. I will continue to use the fixture and talk about it some more in my upcoming feature LEDs 101.
I am always impressed of your passion for your hobbie and also that you invest so much into propper equipment ... The one funny thing through is why does it always look so improvised ? Were you never able to get one room nicly done ? I guess its because you always test new equipment ... I would and am prob not alot better in the caos aspect althrough I desire to reach A way to clean and professional standert for my horticultural future Just keep the work up and i hope you get your shit togather some day in a good way
I am definitely winging it Xion! One day I'll have separate rooms for the different stages of the lifecycle. I will get there. And when I do, you can help me celebrate! :) In the meantime, thanks for sticking around and supporting. Peace! E
Those color LEDs r great but they make my plants stretch. I built a light using 4 wavy boards and 4 sun boards and the internodes on my plants went from 4-6 inches apart to being less than 2 inches apart. I'll never go back to MH and will always build my own going forward. Those results aren't unique to me either, pretty much the rule. Give them a try and you too will preach this gospel 🙌
you talk to fast , i wonder why you do that ? I'm guessing that your second job is an auctioneer , only because I bid $5 twice on something and don't know why , good luck my friend.
WTF are you growing and not showing us Everest? You spent multiple 10k dollars on that equipment not mentioning your electricity bill. This is a very expensive hobby. I can not imagine that any plants can be that valuable to compensate for the immense costs.
+OmikronPsy I am actively engaged in plant nutrition research which requires me to grow lots of plants under controlled conditions, hence the desire for a climate room in my home.

So would you recommend foliar feeding these types of products rather than adding to the Res feed? or are you doing that just for the purposes of your tests and you recommend I stick to the instructions on the bottle?
Thanks Again Everest ✌
The only other person I read about who talked this fast was probably Moses, he was in a hurry to beat the rain.
hey everest! have u tested that myth about music? does it really help plants to grow? i was wondering that since i saw a mythbuster episode but the test shown wasnt very clear to me.. btw nice videos !
Talk faster so you can make more vids lol. Great as always.
+Jack Mehoff Thanks for your support, Jack.
Best grow Vids very. Thanks.
1 watt = 3.8 btu. True for all electronics
Where ya been buddy? Miss ya vids yo
Green Reaper hey amigo - thanks for the message! I’m literally at my desk now making a new video - and plenty more to come after that. I took a study break and worked on some other projects. I got some great footage and learned and ton - so I’ll be back uploading fresh stuff imminently :)
@@Just4Growers Awsome quick response...ill try to be the first veiw....lol prolly not tho.
somehow I missed watching this video... we miss you Everest! What are you up to these days?
Please review the Spectrum king 600
I would LOVE to see this guy growing cannabis.
Everest? Nah, never.
Be his talking speed he his more of a coke fan not weed
just play him at 75% of normal speed!
Wow 1600 uMol is that not overkill I thought it was about 500 for veg and 800-1000 for flower. My understanding was over 1000 is too much light
Best Saturday night surprise ever! And I already saw my girlfriend:). Looking awesome!
Thanks Eric. Yeah, I'm burning the midnight oil here. :)
Everest Fernandez what else are you burning?
I guess this is like when car dudes look at cars they never will be able to afford - and I am not a poor man. :)
Can you do a vid on your weed plants already?
Holy shit. Thats all I can say. So amazing
Someone please help me! Would my yield be higher if I switch from a hps 1000 watts to a LED 1000 watts? EVEREST FERNANDEZ help me out
What are your thoughts on Quantum boards?
I'm very excited to check them out. An exciting DIY alternative to COBs for sure.
I have 4 of the HLG 260W kits running a total of 8 QB304 boards.
Spectrum of 4 3000k, 2 3500k and 2 5000k (for veg)
This is all in an 8x4 tent, and internode spacing is ridiculous.
Crazy efficient and just started flowering (100% of this grow under QB's)
Can't wait to harvest, expecting some pretty decent yields / watt.
Thanks for your videos, you're a saint to the indoor gardening community.
+Life Aficionado Are you making any videos about it? And did you manage to sell your Subaru? :)
I might, I definitely don't have all the fancy equipment to measure actual PAR output and things of that nature, but I just might.
And yessir, sold it a while ago, but I've replaced it with a few cooler rides.
How can you test lights at the same space?
Good question Ric! Thanks for asking. I'm not testing these lights in discrete environments, yet-this is what my attic is designed for with the separate grow tents. I just need to get cooling installed up there and / or wait for the fall / winter to commence that work. For now, I'm just seeing how these lights "get along" in the same room (no choice, really) - but I totally take your point on board for now and I won't be drawing any concrete conclusions until I do.
I already know u grow monster weed trees
Don't get me started on soft mesh netting again!
Those were peppers, man.
Lol
CannabinatedFantasy First rule of the Grow Club is you don't talk about Grow Club.
Ok maybe not anymore....
Great videos!
u gots to respect the rules. mummms the word, man!
So what do you do for a living lol?
A little bit of this and a little bit of that.
losing alot of light by not walling up your grow space example a true 4x4 space should be able to be covered by 1000 watts hps or led equivalent. bet your par ratings would be through the roof if you did this as well as your yields. bloom go all out with the led plants like full spectrum and more par equal bigger yield.
+Dillon Griffin Thanks for your feedback, Dillon. You're right of course, light loss is an issue, especially with sources which throw light out at an angle (not such a big deal with LED) - ironically I made the compromise for physical access to get my video camera into different spots. :)
For some reason I thought you were here in America!
Very well done Everest. Wise choices, and set up. Narration.......Not so much.
You don’t play around Everest! Love to see what you can do with cannabis plant .... just for kicks
ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS WHICH LED IS BETTER??? WHAT IS THE MICROMOLE READING ON THE FLUENCE LED?
PLZ AND TY
+John Roa Fluence publish their PPFD averages across a 4x4 on their website (900+ umol) fluence.science/store/spydr-series/spydrx-plus/ at six inches above the canopy. I have verified this with my quantum meter. But the question of "better" is not totally satisfied by the number of photons in the PAR range. There is more to it. Spectral quality / plant response, canopy penetration at a realistic hanging distance - I feel six inches may be too close for some heat sensitive crops. I will continue to use the fixture and talk about it some more in my upcoming feature LEDs 101.
Haha hay , has that system paid for itself yet ? Maybe a couple more years .
Ha ha. I’m actually already working with new LED lights - my buddy inherited that fixture.
You should try popping a couple cannabis seeds
Killuminati you really think he invests this much to grow peppers? He grows illegally but wants to share information.
👍
Why u must have a very high power bill if u running all of that stuff
+Matt skunk I will let you know in a month or two when the bill comes! Dreading it!
I am always impressed of your passion for your hobbie and also that you invest so much into propper equipment ... The one funny thing through is why does it always look so improvised ? Were you never able to get one room nicly done ? I guess its because you always test new equipment ...
I would and am prob not alot better in the caos aspect althrough I desire to reach A way to clean and professional standert for my horticultural future
Just keep the work up and i hope you get your shit togather some day in a good way
I am definitely winging it Xion!
Shake it like it has been a couple of weeks since you had a hot date: ROFLOL
Minted
Why spend that kind of money to grow peppers micro greens are more lucrative and grow a ton more with half the space
your electricity bill could feed nigeria for 4 years LOL
Poor craig!
Where do you live?!?!
+Trask Huntley Southern France.
I don't give a damn... adjusta wins have been rocking for over 10 years.....
Nise...
First viewer first comment I love your videos Everest Fernandez
Thanks for your tremendous support Francesca! Much appreciated :)
you talk to fast , i wonder why you do that ? I'm guessing that your second job is an auctioneer , only because I bid $5 twice on something and don't know why , good luck my friend.
Too stressful to watch ...
+MrPeregrines I'm here for you MrP to lend a calming hand when needed
WTF are you growing and not showing us Everest? You spent multiple 10k dollars on that equipment not mentioning your electricity bill. This is a very expensive hobby. I can not imagine that any plants can be that valuable to compensate for the immense costs.
+OmikronPsy I am actively engaged in plant nutrition research which requires me to grow lots of plants under controlled conditions, hence the desire for a climate room in my home.
What a waste of growing skills. WEED
Bro chill out stop trying too hard it's add annoying. It's almost unbearable ur making me sick bro ahh stop!!
+joshua Pacheco Nausea? Is it really that bad? Do you read this with my voice in your head? Should I stop typing this? :)
u talk to quick . make me feel rushed hahaha
