I'm trying to watch all your old videos and catch up on you stuff. I've commented on other videos about how much fun it is to watch your content and I'm learning something at the same time. Woot, Woot...🤣
You are my favorite "chatty" person EVER!! You make me laugh so hard every time I watch you, and then I need to take a nap lol. Please keep up these wonderful videos!!
You are so adorable! You remind me of my friend Elizabeth Fabian so much. My husband built me a used window greenhouse for my 40th birthday and he just finished his part today. I just have to put the mesh on the shelves and paint. It’s so nice to have a place for all my plant babies. Congratulations on your new seedling nursery!
Lookin great! My humidity is also incredibly low in my basement and I have been looking to figure something out. I am constantly running out of space and I am very excited for you not having to stress over where to move this flat to!
Awesome, I am so inspired and encouraged 😇. I only grow 3 dahlias in my garden in the summer but I dream of building a flower business.I hope one day… I am so happy for you and your enthusiasm and your happiness , your hard work and also realism with money and business matter . My fav utuber 😇
I live in East TN. A very humid climate. I honestly have NEVER heard of a problem bringing in MORE humidity to a basement. Most around here require a dehumidifier. You have blown my mind lady!
Closing the seed starting area with green house plastic is such a great idea! I've been struggling with the same humidity problem, and may steal your idea. Thanks so much for sharing!
What a great video. I didn’t know about soil blocks. Just ordered some after watching your video. I am a new gardener who bought a house 2 years ago with a greenhouse! I had to learn to garden since it came with the house. I made every mistake under the sun the last 2 years. This year I am going to rock it …LOL, we’ll see.
So happy for you! You finally got your plastic Dexter room! And who doesn’t like Bushy Basil? Thank you Penny and Walter for helping to make it happen.
I picked up a plant from the grocery store. There must be 9 or 10 stems...all very leggy. Having that fragrance in my kitchen is helping me with my spring fever. Headed outside next to bring out my patio furniture, maybe some pots too. I know, we 4b people have several weeks before we can enjoy sitting outside. (Minneapolis here.)
This is so exciting! Great idea and resourcefulness! I have a hard time asking for and accepting help! But every time I do, I'm always glad I did. Happy for you!!!
I wish I was your neighbor. You are bubbly and sweet and make me miss my upstate cousins. Growing seedlings is wonderful. I feel the same when my tropical fish have babies.
I did some something similar in my SE Michigan basement several years ago using clear plastic shower curtains. At the time I felt it was weird trying to warm up my basement. Now I think I’ll need to up grade and expand using greenhouse grade plastic. Thanks Nicole.
I seriously just called my kids up to watch part of this to show them that their mother is NOT the only one who is in LOVE with her plant babies! As you can imagine, eye rolls. How is it both uplifting, encouraging, and just plain fun to see what you are up to? I also keep learning new things - from you and from the comments. Happy growing peeps!
Sweet!!! Great setup, nice that your Father- in-law was there to helpl I can feel your enthusiasm! Get yourself a chair girl ! Even a tall stool will be so useful. I love what you are doing !
Thanks for the laugh. I giggled at this because I HATE to kill anything and have felt the need to plant them all. I hope this year I am over it! I think we can find the flowers good homes (lol) but in the middle of veggie season when you are over run with zucchini and those tomatoes you just couldn't kill. Yeah. That. And that's AFTER you can. Tee hee. Plant people...
SO EXCITING NICOLE!!!! I can relate to so much of what you said. I am just starting out in my growing journey. You really inspire me and the thing I love the most about you is you are confident in being yourself and the reality of dog hair in the couch... not trying to impress everyone by making everything look perfect. I too CANNOT cull plants. Chickens... no problem.
So had to check my stock seedlings, all but 2 are doubles...who knew?! Your In-laws are awesome. The setup is amazing. Don't ever stop your outtakes, you truly make me laugh out loud.
Nicole! You are my spirit animal. 😂 I do the things, lots of things, and big things. When I saw your thrip problem video, I WANTED to write my prediction .... Nicole will build a greenhouse INSIDE her house or basement SOON, like within days! I knew it! I would do the same. Thank God for your wonderful in-laws. Right now my dining room is my little greenhouse. Guess what I see in my future? My husband can see the writing on the (future greenhouse) walls! You go girl! Your soul sister in Oregon, zone 8b. 💪💐💖☀️
Excited for you! What a great system for you now. That's awesome that your in-laws helped you. Planning to harden off my plants this week. In Charleston SC.
It looks amazing, hope it works better for you. I’m going to have to garden vicariously through my favorite RUclipsrs because I broke my ankle and I think my season is over before it started.
Hello, love, love, love that you are working on what things cost! I am a big nerd that way, always trying to figure out where the most effort should go. How nice it is you have such great people around you to help. Excellent. Only a flower person could say this, but what a fun place you have made to work in. It's a flower laboratory! (Ah ha ha.) A bit jealous, just gonna say it.
I bought some stock seeds haven’t started them yet thanks for showing them. My snap dragons are doing ok I’ve taken of my new heat mat now they are in a south facing window they have their true leaves now
Oh Nicole, how EXCITING! What a great space. I spend way to much time in my "Seed Studio" ...alone...talking to plants, and checking the humidity/temp. bhaaa I know you will understand me! Thanks for sharing! Oh, and...Hello baby lissies👋
I was totally going to make a Dexter comment! I immediately thought about mold issues before I saw that airflow will circulate around it. Very nice and very clever. Though you can buy 6 ml clear Plastic at Walmart. Paint Drop Cloth (Plastic). 12' x 4' for $5. Save the Good Green House Plastic for Poly Tunnels! Etc. But look at you! Our little Flower Girl is evolving so fast. She'll be getting planting and moving into a Greenhouse of her own before you know it. Then we will here the pitter patter of dripping water from the little baby seedlings everywhere. I'm so proud. :)
This is 25x10 for about $20 so I think it’s a little pricier but I don’t feel ripped off at all. Check the mil on Walmart brand maybe. I’m so excited for this space!
That basement looks fab 👏🏻 , very professional and in order love it well done , great video , 👍 oh by the way you are nuts, 🥴🤪 in the nicest possible way , very entertaining 😂🥰 looking forward to the ranunculus I’ve just done a test tray ,never done before , coming up great ! so planted the rest 130 of them aw bless my tiny amount hurry up please with that ranunculus video 🤣😂😘 thanks for cheering me up
keep growing girl. doing a fine job. You'll have to go thru the growing pains/lessons of indoor grow yourself. but will be lessons well learned. Yes humidity is an issue. You should have an indoor temperature/humidity gauge to monitor the room. As the plants grow, they will give off more humidity through transpiration. You have to change out the air every few hours with outside. Not talking outside to the rest of your house. But out of the house. Otherwise youre asking for trouble with mold. Vapor barrier is great for increasing humidity, but has draw backs. Watch your corners where the vapor barrier from each side meets. Those are dead spots. I kept 4 fans 1 for each corner to move the air in a circular direction. Mold grows quickly there. The other problem with vapor barrier is it cuts off with carbon dioxide/CO2 that you produce that plants thrive on. Other than when you are working in the room. May consider a CO2 generator/tank on timer for feeding. You'll figure it out. happy growing on your journey
This is totally amazing and I love how excited you are! My family thinks I’m a little crazy when I get excited about my plant babies but I’m a total self proclaimed weirdo so they’re used to it 😂
excellent use of your unused basement space...thats exactly what Ive been thinking about...thanks for showing us
You are hilarious and your happiness is contagious!
Your excitement is contagious! Have fun planting your ranunculus. I can’t wait to see the snapdragons
Only 4 hours!? That's awesome. What a difference that will make
Hahaha. Always nice to have a tall person helping with projects! Looks like a fun project!
I could FEEL your excitement, :) only other plant parents will understand the joy of a perfect growing space.
I'm trying to watch all your old videos and catch up on you stuff. I've commented on other videos about how much fun it is to watch your content and I'm learning something at the same time. Woot, Woot...🤣
Holy thrips what a grow room!! You deserve it❤️

Very nice of the in-laws to help out. They must like you a little ;) The space looks great!

Your enthusiasm is contagious! Please talk about soil blocking verses self watering seed trays. I’m a beginner at flower seeds. Thx
Awesome, I am so inspired and encouraged 😇. I only grow 3 dahlias in my garden in the summer but I dream of building a flower business.I hope one day…
