As we're slowly adjusting to living in our cabin in Michigan, we start slow with some cleanup projects around the property. As you can see in the teasers, we did have some unexpected news that led us to having some serious equipment on the property... but more on this in the next couple videos. We hope you're enjoying our new home as much as we are!
Hope you have a LARGE day!

As many of us old farts that complain nobody wants to work hard anymore, it is nice to see a happy young couple go to town on some back breaking tree removal and yard clean up. I still watch Trent & Allie after they left van life to buy and renovate their home in Utah to raise a family. They and you are wholesome entertainment just living your best life... nothing boring about that at all. This is uncontrived reality tv... we love your unfolding story.
That wood pile looks really good!!
STOP worrying about being boring! It’s fun to watch your endeavors. So happy for you guys!
I love how you 2 have can't stop smiling and Barkley is just enjoying life . I enjoy watching you cleaning up your land and just being happy . Keep up the good work .
Having a home base is a major assest
Not boring at all! We’re so happy for you. Proud of you for all your hard work.
Whatever you have on the agenda to do each day I will be watching!! I enjoy these type of videos! 😊
I’d like to thank you, both, for being an absolutely Authentic couple. Every thing about you seems wholesome and genuine. Many of us identify with your energy and ambition. PLEASE continue and glean every ounce of wonder from your passion. We all, want a front row seat.
My husband and I enjoy watching your cabin project. We are in our 70’s, still active, camping, hiking, boating. We used to buy places to live and do a lot of work as you are doing. It’s good exercise usually but I understand it is sometimes backbreaking too. Glad you have a Hot Tub. We will look forward to your future projects at your new house. We lived having just wood heat in most of our homes, no backup heat. Now we have a house in town with gas heat in No. Idaho.
I love how you two that are learning things that I used to do when I wad 6 and not falling into the lazy generation of new world, keep doing what your doing and you will live a very happy life
Congrats on the property. It’s good for two young people to work together to make something for themselves. My wife and I did that a few years ago. Even though we are still “young” (in our mid 40’s) we are starting to look at downsizing to something different. I hope a young couple like yourself will be able to buy it.
You guys seem to have a great relationship...always smiling and working together to accomplish your goals. Always value and respect each other and you will be rewarded with a fantastic life together. Best of the best for you both. Would love to see some babies in the future, as you would make great parents and the kids would grow up so holsum and grounded.
I love working outside and the satisfaction of standing back when it’s done and just appreciating what you have accomplished!! The BEST feeling. Sadly I can no longer do yard work as I became disabled in 2019. So, I am happy to come along as you make your property a reflection of who you guys are and what makes you feel accomplished!! Congratulations!! I couldn’t be happier for you guys!!
I just love berk. He’s so stinking cute.
So excited to watch ya’ll on your new adventures ❣️
Just keep on keeping on and really enjoy seeing before and afters. You are not boring. You have a great place with lots of good things ahead. Just one suggestion though…..every now and then take a break and go on an adventure and bring us along.
I am going to watch you guys transform this property. I wish I could be there to help. I can't wait til your next video. Also don't let Barkley scare off the deer to much or they won't come back . Love your channel
My wife and I are over age 60, just barely, and we've been maintaining our properties for our entire married life. A small place of a few acres, and a large site with 25 acres. Here is an important tip about using a chain saw. Never use it after you've already been working outside for 4 or more hours with your arms. You won't realize how tired they are and the risk of injury goes up fast. This rule comes from my own experience. Love watching your videos.
We are happy for the two of you with the purchase of your new cabin and property. It sounds like a very exciting time. We are retired now, but remember with great fondness purchasing an acreage when we were younger and putting some sweat equity into it. We look forward to seeing the transformation of your beautiful property!
Congratulations on the new cabin! Excited to see future property updates:)
So excited to see another video so soon. I thought you two might take a break, but I loved seeing you jump right into that really hard work. This is the work that makes you fall more in love with your home. Loved seeing Barkley relaxing in the sunshine. He is so cute.....he is already protecting his property from those deer lol. I smiled the whole time while watching....it's never boring! We love you and are so proud of you just like if you were our own kids!!!
I’m so proud of you guys, what’s more fun than your first house? How about a cool cabin in the woods!
I found the change of oil in the mower very helpful. It is a good reminder to service our equipment. Thank you. I am finding your new videos really enjoyable. 😊
Stop apologies We ! Are watching you 2 grow . Cute place
I think Barkley is living his best life ❤,. Such a fearsome little fella chasing the deer away 🤭. Enjoying your videos, thank for bringing us along on your journey 👍
I am excited for your new mailbox too. Thank you for showing us the start of cleaning the trees. I am so happy for you both. Not boring at all. God Bless
0:04 How cool! I love your mailbox. I'm actually moving into a van because I'm tired of the yard work and house repairs! Then again, I'm old. When I was younger, I loved the sweat equity. Watching you young folks work is not boring. ❤😊 When those cold snowy winters come, you can never have enough firewood. You'll be glad you stacked that up.
Congratulations on your new home. So cool to deers coming in your back yard. Got bad news for you. As a home owner. Maintenance will never be done. It will be an on going thing. But it's rewarding at the end. As to the newly chopped wood. You may want to let them dried outside before putting them in the shed. That hot tub looks good
Love this video! Not boring at all! Your adventures in your camper are super interesting, but your home vids are even more so. It's YOU guys (and superstar Barkley!) that are so likable. Can't wait to see what you guys do next. Please keep up the great work!!
Just happy to have new Michiganders.
Gonna miss the old channel but no worries I will still stop and look for new camping videos from time to time
My wife and I have been through this and it is very rewarding. Lots of work but at the end very satisfying. Keep it up.🙂
You can never have to much firewood 😊 in my opinion
That is some good firewood. Love it. You guys are doing a great job.
A productive weekk! You're no strangers to hard work. Satisfying when it is your own place. WIll be great seeing all the befores and afters of how you make put your touches on the cabin and grounds making them your own. Love the mailbox/post! Look at Barkley chase offf the deer! I wonder if in the future they ignore each other. Stay safe.
We're looking forward to all of the developments that you guys are doing and will be doing. We wish yo all the best!
I love the location. The road doesn’t look too busy. You both look so happy in this new endeavor!
Loving it! You both remind me of how excited we were to get our first house in the mid 1980's
Keep up the great videos, I love the transition.
you two are doing a great job so happy for you both
Congratulations from Nashville Michigan, born and raised in Michigan - looks like a beautiful piece of property here in Michigan
LOVE this video - please keep em coming!
Be Safe clearing your land Beautiful Property Enjoy.
A super opportunity to chronical all the changes and improvements you do to make the place your own. For us It's like being a "fly on the wall" watching it all happen. Or the nosey neighbor on the porch drinking wine and eating munchies while you guys bust your butt 😁❤😂 Barkley is an awesome deer stalker💝 Too cute.!
How true - what a wonderful chronicle of your first home!
I’m so proud for the both of you , iv been a fan of your channel for a good while and I am looking forward to watching your new endeavor . Hard work is real satisfying and prideful so enjoy all you both will be putting into your new home .
I would pull those raspberry bushes out only to make rows of them so you can walk in between the rows and harvest the goodness in mid summer. They sure make great homemade ice cream, gelato, cobblers, pies, jams, blackberry muffins and scones, and syrup for pancakes and waffles. They freeze well. You could even sell some at a local farmers market! Don’t take out all of them! Enjoy their bounty!
Hey, you don’t need to apologize for doing what you’re doing and why you’re doing it! Just keep doing what you two need to do and the rest of us will be sitting over here>>>>>
eating popcorn 🍿 and saying, thank God that’s not my aching back! 😁
Will be nice to see an after pic in a few more weeks to see the progress you two are making!
As always, stay safe out there…..
Thankfully the back hasn’t hurt too bad yet! But the popcorn is always a great idea… glad you enjoyed the video, Mike!
Congrats on the cabin. The video was not boring at all. Your place is so beautiful.
You may want to leave small clumps of the berry bushes. Wildlife, birds, and you will appreciate it later. You may later get into canning.
Thank you for sharing! I love that you taking us along. It is a ton of work to get a property safe. So glad you are prioritizing that. It will save you time, money, stress & heartache down the road.
You both will learn so much & will learn what you need to buy as you go.
Hopefully there is a way to take the bag off the lawnmower & just mulch everything where it is. It will feed the grass & less for you to deal with. I do my lawn that way all year. Easiest way to mulch leaves.
Alrighty now that magnificent beautiful views ..congratulations to you both👍😀😃🐕🦺 awwww beautiful deers
Woo! Barkley photo bombing is the best.
A cute little home in the beautiful nature. ❤
We have a nice little corner lot bought 40 years ago,now the 2nd generation of neighbors has moved in.wish we had started border trees back then
Congratulations to both of you on the purchase of your beautiful home. Love it!
With that much land, it would be wise to invest in a mini excavator or tractor because you will always have projects and upkeep. Maybe some time in the future.
I wish you both the best always. Have fun!
It's a good thing to be outside & not only does the property improve you get immediate satisfaction of accomplishment. You might want to consider not storing firewood in the shed in case there are any termites. That's a nice shed too.
Yes, I love seeing all the organization of the shed or whatever!
Love to watch your progress. Great job! Stay safe. Light and love ❤😊
Congrats 👏
Hello again, I have a pro tip. Pick up a few tarps they come in several sizes. Once you pull weeds or rake leaves in the fall, pull the tarp to your burn pile. Ezee pezee. With the raspberry bushes, hopefully, you didn't pull them all out. Come summer, they make for a nice treat. I'd still like to see what your trail cameras captured !!! There's a lot of work to be done.. Pace yourself.
I love seeing your progress. It would
Be nice if you could show us the lake sometime.
Conner I grew up on 600 acres in the Ozarks so I know about the work you're doing. Be patient. You have in your mind what you want the end picture to be, but if you go at it too hard too fast you'll get frustrated and angry. Just plug away and occasionally stop just to enjoy what progress you have made. By the way, you can never have too much firewood.
It will be fun to watch your place come together for you.
Keep the videos coming.
Congratulations on the new house. It’s very cute and fits you two very well. Glad you get to begin a new journey together.
Thank you!
Iam so happy to watch you guys shape up that beautiful place of yours....keep up the good work. I think you can burn up the not so useful wood, raspberry bushes etc....and use that to make organic manure ...then use that in your property to give the trees a healthy manure...
So much work. But well worth it. Such a beautiful place.
Sending support, love, and kindness from Lexington, MI, USA.
Watching other people work is quite relaxing and inspiring! Hint: Timelapse! Cutting, clearing, stacking. Seeing what gets done in the day in faster speed is nice. Maybe it’s just me? 😅
We’ll add some Timelapse in the mix!
Just started watching y’all this past week. Several episodes in the camper ❤️ we had the same set up as kids. Please keep us through cabin life! Y’all the cutest.
When I worked for the USFS we used a mix of diesel and gas. About 4-1 or 5-1 diesel to gas.
We've got 5 acres in the foothils of CA, and I'll tell you, the yard work will never end. Lol. You'll have lots to do for years to come. Good thinking, have a pro take those trees down. Those look very dangerous, and with the shape they are in, who knows what will happen once they start to fall. Great work this week!
Sounds like the normal realities of home ownership. A nice break I'm sure from all that traveling.
Love watching you work on your new project!
We live in the mountains of North Georgia and totally identify with ALL the tree work and things not really looking that different after hrs of work! I decided to hold off on a gas fireplace since we had so much good wood to burn. No since in waisting it! Lol.
Just watching those logs go into a burn pile & here am I thinking that could go into my wood lathe to make some bowls!
We do have some gorgeous black cherry that would lathe well!
I see you met the neighbors. 4 legged. Nice!
I love these kinds of videos! I am looking forward to seeing the transformation unfold :)
Epic spot
Yes, I agree with Connor. Being organized is the to go!!
Glad I'm not the only one!
Love this Cabin and curious where it is in Michigan? So cute to see Barkley chase the deer!!! We will be in Michigan sometime in July to get out of the heat of Florida. We stay with my Sister in Frankenmuth and She also has deer in her front yard!!!! I Grew up in the thumb area of Michigan and really enjoy going back for the Summer months!!! ENJOY!!
So so pleased for you both, having your own home, wishing you all the very best for the future.michael uk care home resident xx
Found the video 📹 very entertaining. Working 💪 outdoors is pretty fun to watch. See you on the next one adventurers 😊❤.
This stuff is cool to see. Makes me want to be out doing it myself but I’d rather watch y’all work lol
Congrats on the cabin and keep the videos a coming
You have to start somewhere. Every thing is fun in a new house love the mailbox part very sweet. Shed organized is always good content we can all use ideas and bonus hot tub to end the day
RUclips felling trees. You cut a wedge out on the side you want it to fall. Then move to the opposite side a cut at a fair angle down toward the wedge. The downward angle keeps the tree from falling backwards and fall towards the wedge.
Hey, for safety make sure the motor of the chainsaw is tight against the log when you're cutting it (The base of the bar), with the gap like you have if the chain somehow gets caught and it kicks, you might have a big problem.. Looking good tho!
Great to see you enjoying your new home! Working hard on your own place gives such great satisfaction. I watched your video back when you vacationed there and really liked the place then. Great that the previous owners reached out to you when ready to sell. I have a truck camper as well and hope to build a home base very similar to your cabin in the woods. You said it is around 800sqft total. Could you give some rough dimensions of the rooms? It seems so efficient and just wondering how big the bedrooms etc. actually are. Thanks for the time and effort you put into your videos so we can come along on the adventures! Have a great day!
Loved this episode! Love the home and the grounds around it! I would love a place just like it. Keep up the great vids👍
If you’re up in our UP then there is deer, elk, bear, wolfs, coyotes, and if you’re really lucky, you could see a moose…. Oh an adorable porcupine, but I would keep my distance. Lol
I love raspberries. It makes me sad to see them being removed. Great job of clearing up the land though.
I enjoyed it ☺️ it’s kinda just like hanging out ☺️enjoy guys 💕
I bought the chirp wheel. It comes with 3 sizes. I use the middle one it really helps my back.
Beautiful place, lots of hard work for you but it will be worth it.
Congratulations your new cabin looks amazing 👏 ❤
It's exciting to see you guys get a home. Looking forward to the transformation outside. Just for your edification, diesel fuel is much safer to start fires. Gasoline is obviously a gas and that is what ignites and kind of blows up. Diesel is an oil. It will not explode but it will ignite. Much safer. God bless you both.
Thanks for the info on fuel! I will definitely be using diesel next time, it had been a while and I forgot how explosive gas was. Lessons learned!
Congrats on the new place! I live in Michigan! I love this state. We go up north a lot to Torch Lake during the year. So many beautiful places here in Michigan!
Love this. The property is beautiful!
You guys are great!! My wife and I did a circle tour of Lake Superior last October, and love that whole area!! You guys have a wonderful little jewel of a place! I have to admit I am a little envious!! Keep up the great videos!
Makes me miss up north Wisconsin..can’t wait to get there again..
I cut, split and delivered wood to people as a side job when I was a private in the army stateside and it is a very therapeutic work and I made good money doing it. Me and the wife always enjoy your videos and your both so cute but Barkley wins that contest.
Just subscribed and enjoyed the clear up can’t wait to see the progress you make each week.
Nothing is too boring! Love your new home. Congratulations! Can't wait to see all you do there.
