  • How to Choose Between Round or Cushion Diamond? Brilliant vs Crushed Ice EXPLAINED
Watch today's video all the way through! In today’s episode, we are featuring a 3.5ct Cushion Brilliant French Pave Engagement Ring with Full Diamond Basket. I'm also going to talk about the difference between Cushion Brilliant and Crushed Ice look. Which one do you like more? Let me know in the comments ;)

Pointer #1: Cushion cut diamonds resemble the appearance of round cut diamonds.
Pointer #2: Crushed Ice Cushions are diamonds with a center that looks like shattered glass or
ice. The crushed ice look comes from smaller facets on the bottom of the stone.
Pointer #3: There is no ideal ratio for cushion cuts as it comes down to personal preference. However, elongated cushions generally suit longer, more slender fingers, while a shorter ratio generally flatters shorter fingers.
Let me know what you guys thought of this week’s video and leave a comment to let me know what I should talk about next!

I love the Old Mine cut. One of my customers, a teenager, has one and I just zeroed in on it. He told me it was a gift from his grandpa who is still with us. What a treasure, and he gets to have the pleasure of seeing his grandson wear the heirloom every day. It brings tears to my eyes.

I had no idea there were so many variations of the cushion cut! I will always go with Round Brilliant 💎 at the end of the day though.

I love the Emerald cut too, but I went with the round and I don't regret it.

Cushion has been around a long time but most still love the round, I think the round will always be #1. I love the round but it's nice to have something different then everyone else. I only like the cushion with a brilliant cut. The other cushions, especially crushed ice cut does not appeal to me at all.

I was in LOVE with the cushion cut at one point…but I’m definitely a round girl now. However some of the cushion cut options you were showing had a b***ch about to change her mind😂!

Totally opposite of you..... We've been married 20 years. I'm changing from 2.96ct round to a 3.52ct cushion because i love one of my previous engagement rings (princess) so much. And totally new shank. First one the 6 prong basket was white gold and there were channel set diamonds graduating down the yellow gold band. I chose totally rose gold 4 prong 'claw' solitaire setting, cathedral style. No other diamonds on the band. Can't wait till the jeweler finishes my upgraded ring! Id love to know why you went from cushion to round??

I think I prefer the cushion cut ( more pillowy type)....... , but the round does have classic appeal.

What’s the thinnest width band you can get w/a 2.75 ct center stone that will keep it from spinning?

    Good morning Bonnie !
Can you make a video of the different types of certifications and why they are important. I live in Texas and see how jewelers offer GIA or IGI and i don’t know what route to take . I’ve always heard of GIA and my current ring is GIA certified but I am looking to upgrade and now I’m confused. Thank you!
Regardless I am looking to go to you for my upgrade.

Cushion cut always looks a little larger from the top than rounds to me at the same carat weight. I was surprised to hear you say it is the other way around but I still see the cushion are bigger. Just wondering if you will compare 1 ct or 7/8 of a carat in lieu of the usual 2 and 3 carat rings. The average woman has 3/4 to 1 carat so it is hard to relate to what you show since it is most likely out of reach for most, at a high quality anyway. Just wondering.

Cushion has more weight at the bottom so the top will look smaller than round

LOL I can't tell if you are letting your imagination run away with you or if you're just trying to be funny. She is still with her husband that bought her both the cushion and round engagement rings.
