- Ford Model A Social Media Q&A #12, people asked questions and @ModelA answered them, plus a little talk about Paul’s time on Roadworthy Rescues season 1 episode 7 in the beginning of the video, sounds like some great times and memories!
A few points:
I watched the episode rebuilding the model A because Paul was on the show. That was the first time I'd seen that show.
Secondly, and in no order of importance, you two have to be the luckiest couple on the face of the planet. I enjoy so much watching your videos and I'm so captivated how it looks that you both found the other person who completes you or compliments you so well or each of you have married your best friend. I'm almost 50 and don't think I've ever found a woman who accentuates so well and I don't even think that's a good enough word to describe it. - Blessed.
Lastly, although the model A is my favorite vehicle, just over 6 ft tall and large stature person, I recently found my second favorite vehicle a '70s F-series with 300ci straight six, one barrel carburetor, manual transmission rear wheel drive, and no a/c or so many other things. People who know me don't understand why I'm deengineering and removing non-essential things. Until I lose weight this vehicle is my goal to be a larger Model A. I'm changing the bed and plan to change/copy the model A slender nose front end. If I can keep losing weight, I'm getting a Model A though. I love or am fascinated by the mechanical simplicity in a world of computer-controlled transportation
Wow Michael, thank you so much, you are such a sweet person 💗💕 I truly hope you find a super sweet gal to complete you 💗🙏💕
Losing weight is hard, but doable, you’ve got this!! 💪🏻🥳
The E.F. Johnson Viking 6N2 Thunderbolt caught my eye. Man, that's more rare than a Model A or T!!
Tina, I need to build Paul a shop vac which is safe to use vacuuming up gasoline or any flammable material.
It’s a typical project for any beginning aircraft mechanic. Many times we are making sheet metal repairs inside aircraft structures where there could possibly be a potentially explosive atmosphere. (A reason we use only air powered drills etc.) At job completion, the work area must be thoroughly vacuumed, no drilling chips, no debris. An air powered vacuum cleaner is simple to build thanks to Mr Bernoulli and his laws.
I assume Daryl cleans up gasoline spills with a match, burning them off. Open the garage door to let the smoke escape for safety’s sake, of course. Don’t want to be breathen no toxic fumes.
You assume correctly
I thought the upholstery guy went above and beyond - all that overnight! Amazing
Yes, that was amazing how fast the worked and other than not having a window to put in it fit so perfectly!
I fixed all my family's 👪 tube radios and TV'S when I was a kid and owned a few but unfortunately all were lost after my divorce 😢. Stay warm guys, Mike
That’s so cool that you had that hobby, so sorry that you lost them, some people are not nice. Take care 💕
Oh, I can't resist!
You can tune a radio, but you can't tune a 🐠 fish!!
I faithfully watched Derek’s show and Paul’s video! I’m very proud of Paul. He is a highly respected Model A aficionado! The episodes were great ! We are proud of Paul on his TV debut! Congratulations!
Thank you so much Wayne 💕
Love the videos. An extra bonus to see you on tv! Much success to you. Here’s to many more!
Thank you so much 💕💗
News about the car transporting. I have had 3 cars transported and I found all 3 companies in the Hemming's Monthly magazine. It you go to Hemming's, and search for "transportation you will find between 25-30 advertisements. In some ads the company will talk about their specialities, {sports cars, classic cars, etc.}. Then a phone call or filling out a form with offer you a time line's, distance & costs and if you want Open & Enclosed. One note, it is BEST to use a transportation company that keeps your car in the truck. Some do and some don't. Best of luck.
Hey thank you Michael, great information!! 💗
Great content and we loved the Motor-trend show too, looked to be loads of fun. Next time I see Paul I’ll have to blurt out this “this man hates sprinkles and he stood in Henry Ford’s office” 😂. We watched with smiling faces. Thanks for the video friend.
Thank you so much! Lol, that’s hilarious, I dare you to 😂
Have an awesome week!!
@@Modeltshinn Again thanks for all you both do for the hobby 🦄, we hope you both have a wonderful thanksgiving 🦃
@@brendamcdaniel1958 it’s coming so fast! Happy thanksgiving 🦃💗
Don’t I know it, gobble gobble 🦃 🥧🍗🥘 pilgrim.
Thanks guys for the video! I appreciate it.
Thank you Jim 💕
Great video.
Great episode!
Thank you Steve 💗
Looking forward to buying my first Model A. I just moved near Applegate, CA and will start looking for one this summer.
That sounds like a fun summer to come!! 💕
Love you guys, you’re fun to watch and very informative!!!
Thank you so much John 💕
thumbs up.
Paul. Funny story. When I bought my A and had to get it shipped. I googled it and requested a quote. I received texts and calls for about a week. Literally bout 50 plus. I ended up borrowing a trailer. It was pretty cool cuz I got a lot of waves in rest areas, gas stations and on the road. Pretty fun. Both of you take care.
That’s an awesome story 💕
Always a pleasure watching you. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge.
Thank you Craig 💗
Oh, Paul. Careful with the Gas, look what happened to Jay Leno…I hope he’ll recover just as good as new. Thanks to both of you, and I’ll see Ray Gabledon at one of our Albuquerque Meetings. He’s kinda having troubles finding sponsors, first they agree. Then their not there… We’ll see how it turns out, though…Wish us luck! See, you.
Yes, we’ll be care, I’m sorry to hear about Jay Leno, I read the story, I’m praying he’ll heal quickly and that his pain is managed well 🙏💗 I wish you good luck with everything!! Take care and stay well!
I love your honesty and straightforward information and personalities
Thank you so much 💕
Well, you guys have produced another fine video for us Model A enthusiasts! Thanks for answering more questions for us.
Hey Paul! kinda hard to tell, but is that a Johnson Viking 6-N-2 in the background-sitting on the shelf? Don't know why my eye was drawn to that. LOL!!
Cheers and 73 to you both!
de Benton w4jba
Good eye! YES!!!
Wat?!? You should have told me I could take anything that’s not registered!! 😂😂❤
You wouldn't even take a soda out of the mini fridge.
@@ModelA 😂😂that’s how we’re raised in Hawaii. Our parents would always tell us to say thank you but it’s ok, don’t take advantage of people and respect their home. That’s one of the reasons why we remove our shoes before entering someone’s house in Hawaii. 😀
@@rynetakeuchi4382 In the summer time, I just don't wear the shoes in the first place. Problem solved.
Since the Model A's fender and headlight were close to the camera, the camera focused on it instead of on you. Paul and Tina were slightly out of focus the whole time, but that didn't detract from the fun of the video. Good job, guys.
Lol, I had a feeling, darn 😂 It’s also possibly due to having to use low resolution setting to upload this video, my phone is running out of room. Thank you and have a great day! 💗
@@Modeltshinn Yeah - I could tell the video was uploaded in low resolution. Anyway, we watch the channel for the excellent Model A information, not to see a Hollywood quality production.
Great info! Thanks.
Thank you 💗
Great episode today. Thank you
Thank you Todd 💗
You heard it hear first, folks! The Model A will last 500,000 miles! Now I Really want one! Haha 😆
😂😂😂😂 ya that was funny!! Best car ever made!!!
great video, thanks!
Thank you 💕
Yeah, sounds like Sean Winograd is the guy to turn to in that situation. Awesome, you got Gandolf driving, that's great! The radius ball issue is interesting, does heavy use or abuse contribute to the wear, like hard shifting or rough road conditions? Lots of good questions and great answers, loved it. Thanks Model T and Paul, have a great day!
Great question, I’ll ask Paul what he thinks 💗 thank you and have a great rest of the week!
@@Modeltshinn You too Thanks!
Hi Paul & Tina , great show love you folks- where can I find a local engine builder in our area syd
Hi Syd! Where are you folks located? Thank you so much 💕💗
Goog 'le!! Haha!
I have a sign in my garage that says “ My Garage, My Rules”
So the camera focused on the headlamp in the foreground instead of you guys...and I thought it was just my watery eyes 👀!
Ya….sometimes you have learning moments 😂💗
I’ve come across A wheel hubs where someone at some time has pushed the wheel studs out, resulting in over sizing the holes in the hub. Their solution was to weld the new studs in. Bad, Really bad. Not something which one wants to discover on an A which they may have recently purchased.
Wow, ya sounds dangerous
Folks at Branttons were familiar with the dodge. They’ve seen it done more often than once. I expect on hub, drum assemblies which they’ve received for rebuild. Good only for carrying to the metal recycling dumpster bin.
I'm not requesting a refund, but I won't buy another shirt until I see a new vendor. Thanks for letting us know. My shirt has more use/abuse/stains/dog sweat than normal, but the decal is breaking down.
I love you description of your T-shirt 😂 but we don’t like that your decal is doing the same as why we left that company. Hopefully soon we will have things ready to do it again, if all works out the shirts coming have awesome wear for the decals!
I think the antique radios are fascinating. Any chance Paul might do a video on rebuilding one?
Yes they are 💕 I highly doubt it because he’s so busy with work and model A videos, but we’ll see 😁
Paul. I had that hobby for many years. My wife actually called it my obsession. Lol. I had an auction several years ago. I never really collected Zenith black dials. Too pricy. Mine were all prewar. Do you have a Zenith Walton yet
@@gregfolkers3770 I did. I thought it was ugly. It reminded me of a Freightliner semi truck grill. I sold it a long time ago to a collector.
@@ModelA hahaha
Paul you’re going to spray the black parts with a rattle can?!?
As for oil leaks… if it don’t leak, it’s not real 🤙🏽💕
Yep!
I think you are going to enjoy this coming Saturday's video.
@@ModelA I enjoy all your videos!! I could have spent hours talking with you on cars but I knew we had a long drive back.
Mahalo for you and Tina’s hospitality and lunch.
@@rynetakeuchi4382 it was such a joy to spend time with you both 💗
@@Modeltshinn ❤️
Aircraft have a list of speeds associated with that particular aircraft. These are know as 'V' speeds. Stall speeds, cruise, climb, etc. The 'never exceed ' is Vne. I guess Model A Vne is below 70 mph!!
😂
Like I've said in the past,we watch mainly because of your honesty.Thank you.
Thank you Dean 💗
Note: I inquired with Jeff at Brattons about rebuilding a steering box. They replied that they no longer offer that service any longer. So I opted to rebuild a 2 tooth I got at the swap meet at Gilmore.
Oh wow, that’s good to know, thanks for letting us know 💕 You’ve got this!!
Hey Paul In addition to my 30 Model A I also have a 39 Packard , could you give me link to where I can get the one grit sanding block ha ha ha it really looked like worked the 39 could use it

This video is exactly why I watch RUclips and not TV. I like real people like Paul & Dereck not actors.
That’s awesome, thank you ♥️
Try bunker branding out of Texas. They cater to youtubers
Thank you for your message, I looked them up but the offer services to people with 500,000 subscribers and over and we are no where near that yet.
Model T where's your hat?????? Lol😊
Lol, my hair must have cooperated with me that day 😂😂💕💗
@@Modeltshinn don't worry you both have hair of a movie star. God cuts my hair ....lol Thin on top. Just had to mess with you on the hat thing!
@@garyaxsom1815 lol, thank you! Have a great evening 💕
What happened to the motor that you had to pull out?
We’ve made a lot of videos, please remind me, are you talking about the Burtz motor or a different one?
I need to bow out. Otherwise I'm going to aggravate everyone else!
You are always welcome here 💕
No sprinkles? How plain!
stay worm
The heater was perfect, thanks 💕
Too bad really historical locations cannot all be saved.
Indeed 👍sad
Sucking up on vice grip garage are you
Paul and Derek have become friends and have spent a lot of time together lately, so yes, Paul is having fun with it and wants to help promote Derek, he’s a great guy 💗
Model T how is Paul kidney stones doing?
I know what he went through, I had the same issue earlier this year. Passed three stone fragments and I was miserable.
Better lately thank you 💗
@@Dan-qy1rg it’s such a terrible thing to go through 💕
@@Modeltshinn This happened on a weekend and I had to call a vet for my son who's heifer was trying to calve and we tried to pull it and I couldn't take the pain any longer, I went back inside and laid down. Miserable, the rest of the weekend.
@@Modeltshinn Thanks for your heartfelt concern, it's nice to know others care and are genuinely wishing you well!💌
A good reason for metal buckets 🪣 👌 love the show. Good luck, Mike
