Your heaving of the Pitman Arm ------ brought back some memories from when I was sixteen ---- In my dad's driveway a friend was helping me convert an automatic trans in a '56 Pontiac to a standard trans --- part of the transmission tunnel was cut out ---- he was on the inside of the car and I was under the car on the ground ----- he was to get a bolt in from the top side ----- when all of a sudden I heard him jump out and said ------ Sorry Rod ---- as he heaved the bolt clear across the road ----he could NOT get the bolt started ------ Oh ,well thank you Dave ----- maybe I've got another one ------------- Things we'll remember in our life time ---- like this some sixty-nine years ago ------ Thanks You for --- Steering me Straight --- Mr. Pittman better get his Arm's straight ----- Have a Good Weekend you two --- Rodney
Another great piece of advice here. I could picture what Paul is saying, although I haven't ever really seen a Model A steering box. Thanks Model T, hope you two have a nice evening!
My Coupe is getting more Gross every time I work on it. It came with his F100 steering and last month it got a brake job - cast iron drums and shoes. Living in SoCal I just went to his shop and he did them while I waited (the parts not the install). Great guy and very knowledgeable.
Thank you, the full explanation helped a ton. As an aside, I saw the notification but had to finish reading Mr Shinn’s article in “Reviving a long dormant Model A Ford” before watching. Thank you both again. God bless ~ Chuck
Video Request: Can you show an overview of all of the components of a rumble seat? My 1929 was acquired with it half converted from trunk to rumble, but I am having trouble finding images online of the rear / bottom rubber stops and their installation location. Mine already has the seat, latch, and hinges installed, but not the rubber bumper stops on the lower or upper area.
Sorry you don't like the shortened Pittman. Mine works perfect and I lost no turning radius (steering goes lock to lock) because everything else is adjusted to spec. I won't give mine up. To each his own. In the end though, it's all about WWPSD!
thanks for sharing the video, I hope everyone's doing well.
I never seen a short pitman arm for the model A but good advice!
Hi Friends! You Guys ROCK! Great info, every time! Have a great weekend!
@@JefferyHall-ct2tr thanks!! Have a great week!
1.5 shorten pitman arm, add 1.5 to drag link, easier to steer ,no loss turning radius.

Okay, now I know where to go hunting for parts, at the bottom of the hill at Paul and Tina's place. HA!HA!

Yay! first comment. Ohh and good info as usual.

I thought the F 100 box was too big for an A model , and that they had used '48- 52 , F1 boxes instead .

Great tip Model T
can i make it longer ?
@@mattomon1045 that’s a good question?! I feel the answer is no, as in adding on to it, but I’ll ask @paulshinn
Thanks for the video but now you reminded me 😭that my ex-wife put me at the bottom of that hill, just like an old part. 🤕
@@Go4Corvette noooooo! 🤯💩 Climb back up the hill! 😁
@@Modeltshinn Cheaper to stay at the bottom. A rusty Model A body makes a great cabin.🤣
