    Thanks for this video. I might not have thought to blow out the dirt. Where does that dirt go?

    I have a problem where the spark plug unscrewed and was bashing the wire against the hood while driving on the highway.
    If we cannot get the plug to screw in should we assume that the hole it sits in has lot its threads?

  • @geoas9959
    @geoas9959 5 лет назад +4

    shouldn't you put a little never seize on the threads?

    Should the valve cover gasket be replaced?

    • @1AAuto

      Thanks for checking us out! The valve cover is not required to be replaced but if you do notice it beginning to look worn we would suggest having it replaced as well. Hope this helps you out! +Mark Tharpe

    I didn't see this guy add anti seize or spark plug boot lube.
    Keeping mechanics in business by causing future problems, huh?

    How can I remove the dirt and debris without compressed air?

    • @sissorsister83
      @sissorsister83 5 лет назад +1

      Compressed air in a can could work.

    • @DustinOuterSanctum

      Allllllmost forgot to blow out that debris... :)
      I would get a can of compressed air in the stationary section at WalMart.

      Use a can of duster, or a small attachment for a household vacum (you could get creative and duct tape a funnel or smaller tube to the vacuum hose for the right application).

    • @GetRealBaby
      @GetRealBaby 5 лет назад +1

      Good question.
      Try using a vacuum if you have a small enough extension to get into the hole.

      Take the valve cover off and replace the gasket. If you are doing plugs, you should be doing these as well.

    Why does it say “How to Replace Parking Brake Cable”? When this is just Spark Plugs.

    Honestly mate, I can't believe you would even waste your time replacing these plugs without the valve cover gasket. When I changed mine it came out in 15 pieces. No wonder it was leaking. I have a Nov 04 and it has been leaking since 2011. I finally fixed it, replaced plugs, leads, gave it a degrease. Trickle fed the battery over 36 hours, done wheel bearings, engine mounts, and some other bits and pieces. How much do you think it would sell for? Bearing in mind I charge $40 an hour cash in hand and spent 12 hours on it plus parts.

      $AUD58 for valve cover gasket. 9 x cans of super cheap auto degreaser at $3 a can, AUD$38 trade for set of Bosch Iridium Plugs, $75 trade for a set of Bosch Spark Plug Leads, $75 trade for Bendix Pads, Machined Rotors myself, 26.5mm meat left on after machining. much more done. Still needs aircon to be looked at, but I am not going down that road, I have a roadworthy and that is all I need.
