    Thanks for all the work you did. My Wife has tried many stainless cleaning solutions. After seeing her remark how bad the refrigerator looked I said let me do some research. Your WD30 was a slam dunk solution to her years old problem. I can't wait to see her reaction when she comes home from work today.

    I know that you made this video 2 years ago, but it is still relevant.
    Over the years I've use furniture polish on all my appliances and the kitchen sink.
    However, now that we have a 9 month old grandson that we watch, I was trying to think of what I used when my son was a baby - 25 years ago.
    Then I remembered I used mineral oil on just about everything in the kitchen - counter tops, cabinet doors, appliances...........
    And then I started second guessing my self.
    Did a search on YT and came to your video.
    Thank you!!!
    It was reassuring that I made the right choice in using mineral oil - which is a basic ingredient in baby oil.

    Thank you for this scientifically impeccable video. First you describe the problem, then set up a fair test for all the products. And then you go further, and test how each of your products will perform over time. Other UTubers could learn from your presentation. Also, I think you've just saved my kitchen sink from further abuse.

    I have found the product 'Awesome' (first marketed in Dollar Stores) to be a good choice if diluted - (1 tablespoon in a 1 gal of water). Very economical and leaves a lovely shine on most everything. If used on the BBQ directly spayed on for heavy grease, it removes it quickly and leaves a shine. I am not certain if Awesome can harm the surface. I have been using it for a year or so and so far it appears to be safe.

    Stainless steel comes in a variety of ratios. If a magnet sticks to it it will rust if not protected .Therefore it has a clear coating from the factory. Polishes are like fine sandpaper and will remove that finish. Harsh cleaner and scouring pads will remove that finish. I’ve seen stainless steel fridge doors get rusty. Mild detergent and a cloth. Mineral oil will help protect the finish as well as waxes. I use these to protect my tools in my shop. Read your manuals that come with the appliance. Cheers

    Thanks for the video. You can just use baby oil without the windex. Cleans and polishes in one fell swoop. Use a paper towel and go with the grain. The dirt will come off while leaving a shine.

    Great demo / info. I hv a ton of stainless appliances but also antique stainless steel bread boxes I need to clean the right way today. Thx so much for doing this. It's the little things, isn't it? 👍Going to try WD-40 on the boxes working outside and the Windex + baby oil inside. I wouldn't hv thought about the WD-40 fumes, which would've overwhemed Handsome Harry🐈- just me in Palm Springs 🌴

    Thanks for this video. In all fairness though, I believe all three should be cleaned with Windex first. The other two products are being applied to a dirty surface. Windex is known to leave a steak free surface. Therfore all three products aren't really applied to the same surface conditions. Imo.

    One tip. When we refer to a noun like dishwasher in the plural we say dishwashers. If you refer to it singularly it's incorrect. It's like the British saying, "I went to hospital". NO. In America it's "I went to the hospital". It's a cultural and linguistic difference.

  • @Nattypants1985
    @Nattypants1985 3 года назад +19

    It's actually bad to use windex on stailess steel because it damages it with repeated use. WD-40 is the best way to go. Just use very little so it doesn't get on your hands.

    • @lisaalony415
