Just a minor clarification. You don't actually have to do any of Tectus's quests, get his permission, or even speak to him to enter the command center, you can go straight there as soon as you have access to the Nexus. The dialogue with the Child of Atom guarding the door is a little different, she warns you not to go in because it's dangerous, but she does not stop you or go hostile if you just run by her.
Hmmmm. I feel like a silly goose. I always thought i gotta do CoA quests to get their permission :D I kinda remember her attacking me. But, maybe it was because i was shooting everyone else there...
I don't necessarily think there's anything wrong with "brahmin meat" being in pre-war places. Think of it like this, if you're a wastelander, and you find pre-war beef, you're still going to identify it as being the same as brahmin meat. If you want to sell it, you'd say "it's brahmin meat, more or less", and if you plan to cook with it, you'd use it in the same recipes as brahmin meat. As long as there is no gameplay reason to distinguish between items, it can be better to use one item as a proxy for another, that way they can both be used in the same recipes, rather than having to make separate recipes or letting one have no recipes. I think one can apply the same rationale to jet, although I suspect that one was a genuine screwup on Bethesda's part. But even if it's not made like jet, as long as it has similar properties and they are interchangeable for an addict, your dealer would probably say it's jet when selling it to you.
I normally would agree in other games, but your character in fallout 4 is from the pre war era. Wouldn't he or she know the difference between brahmin meat and cow meat?
That last damn memory puzzle is why I havent played Far Harbor on any but one of my playthroughs. I played it exactly once, and I didnt even get all the endings. I finished two of the possible endings, then said "fuck this!" And left and never looked back. Until now....
14:19 - Submarines carrying nuclear missiles are not sent out on reconnaissance missions. Attack subs fill that role. Missile subs are deployed for one reason only - launch nuclear missiles at designated targets, when the President orders a launch. The reason this sub is deploying to the South China sea is because this submarine is being tasked with preemptive strikes on enemy silos. If friendly satellites observe that missile silos are being prepared for launch and intel analysts like PAM suggest a high probability of launch, a missile sub is usually tasked with destroying those silos before they can get their missiles aloft. This requires a smaller flight time, so the submarine has to be off the enemy’s coast. In not deploying, this Captain Wabash IS responsible for all the destruction and death visited upon NY and DC. He can’t be blamed for Boston because Captain Zao launched the one nuke that detonated over the Glowing Sea. Zao was already in place off the US East Coast, so Boston is on the Atlantic Fleet’s ASW (anti submarine warfare) forces for failing to do their job.
11:47 This is why Oxhorn's videos are awesome. I've done Far Harbor a dozen times and never found/read Cap't Wabash's terminal. I always think I'm good at exploring every location. But, there is always something hidden in plain sight.
I have been watching this channel since the first fallout episode come out. I’ve watched every fallout video you have ever uploaded and I would like to say think you for all the quality entertainment you have give me for the past 4 years to watch. I didn’t know anything about fallout and thinks to you and this channel it is my favorite game. I have played fallout 4 3 new vagus and 76 and you started that for me so thanks for all the great content.
5:18 I imagined a conga line of all the companions in the game wearing Hawaiian shirts doing the limbo except for X6 who in his courser jacket says "I'm not sure how this is considered 'fun' ma'am."
I did not entirely remember doing this until that assaultron came around the corner and I had a flashback. That thing caught me way off guard the first time and the beam melted my face off. I just fatman nuked it at the second attempt because it was cloaked the whole time. I quite like the puzzles, even if I had to look up the solution to the last couple of ones on the net.
DiMa: “It’s good to see you brother..” Nick: “Good to see you too DiMa.” Damn it, I never thought listening to two synths call each other family would be so wholesome. The dialogue between them is so hecking adorable, and honestly if I ever play Far Harbor for some inane reason, I’m definitely letting Nick reunite with his brother.
Just wanted to thank you for showing how to see subtitles for the memories! My hearing isn't great and I keep my volume down when my kid is around so it drives me crazy when important game audio subtitles aren't available.
I never really hated the puzzles in this DLC. Sure they were unexpected and took me a long time to solve, especially the last one, but I didn't really hate them. Just felt mentally exhausted after. Felt proud after completing them.
Who else misses the good old days when we got Fallout videos 6 days a week. When I watch the older stuff and hear the "I publish new Fallout content six days a week" I shed a tear.
I rage-quit Far harbor myself because of this puzzle six years ago and never returned to it until now. Thanks for showing us how to deal with it. Finally enjoying this DLC all the way through for the very first time thanks to your tutorial here.
"The Reds will do as bad or worse" A reference to the Yangtze, perhaps? Zhao said he was nearby when the bombs dropped, and after being crippled managed to limp the Yangtze into harbor.... 🤔
A lot of people say they hated the dima memory mini game, but I actually like that lol. I enjoyed the challenge of the last memory. Although it wasn’t until like the 3rd time that I realized you don’t have to do all of them for the main quest.
Seven years ago, I managed to solve all the puzzles in DiMA's Memory Wankfest which I found to be particularly excruciating. This time around however, I employed the magical tilde key to circumvent the entire foolishness. My deliverance from not having to physically complete those senseless digital shenanigans gave such profound relief that there wasn't even any of the expected nagging from my conscience for "cheating". Thanx, Ox.
When it comes to Nick and DiMA I alway go for him and DiMA to be brothers Nick deserves a family and thinking in the “long run” when the sole survivor dies and the people that he knows now passes he will always have someone now he won’t be alone anymore and I think that’s awesome
Just in case nobody in the past 3 years has addressed this, or have but I somehow missed it: It's pronounced WAH-bash, not wha-BASH. 😀 P.S. I've watched Ox's videos going back over 6 years, and if I make a comment, I'm never afraid that it'll never be seen. Sooner or later someone will stumble across this man's outstanding opus dei and come to love and appreciate it as the rest of us have. Immortality is his, such as has come to but a very few men in all of history.
Question for Oxhorn, have you done any research on a tank wi5 orders right beside it? It is in Fallout 4, and it is either a commander or somebody that sended the men the orders, and it has half a paper, it is close to Relay Tower 0BB-915, I don’t know if you have saw the tank, but I was questioning if you have seen it, and if it has a whole story behind it.
LOL. Turret laser for the memory access? XD thats very creative, especially for consoles. But as a PC player, and after beating this section once, i couldn't be bothered. I just disabled few blocks with console command XD
yeah those assautletrons are insane! in my current playthough i got the robotics expert so i can hack those damn things! and having them self destruct is GLORIUS
Soooo Ox, was wondering when we are gonna get lore on the Fire breathers of 76? Recently played through thier missions and I would love to hear your take on them. Good work as always!
Strangely enough the combination of both Nick and Dema brings symbolic meaning between the two. Though you could go with the biblical Nicodemus (Dema being another case of Demus). Demus or Dema roughly translates "for the people. Nike or Nick translates "Victory" . Victory for the people. I believe it is a wink and nod to the Synth struggles in the game...But you tell me.
I love the little indexers! Gave them the nickname "beetles" since they're cute little insects running around. ^w^ Also I genuinely never knew the turrets could disable the forcefields. Not sure if it was that or me going a fair distance away from one randomly disabled it when my back was turned.
Ok i need to get this off my chest, every time you said " rubble" the names of Betty and barney" popped in my mind. OK done, just need to say that. LOL, great videos, keep up the great work.
Okay... 9:17 A radio in the bathroom, next to the toilet. I guess taking a dump in silence was not an option? It's stupid to put a radio so close. They could have at least put it in a corner. That's just not safe putting it in the splash zone.

Hey Oxhorn! Do you have a video with ideas on why the Institute didn't care to Courser/retrieve the Nick Valentine Synth? Finding him was far from hard.. Dude opened up a detective agency in Diamond City and was prominent. May actually be the most famous Synth of the Commonwealth.. But they let him be.. Maybe an experiment? Truly trash and a defective prototype they didn't care about? That would be hard to believe.. Maybe his fame was the issue? But if Nick disappeared it could be blamed on some case he was working and that he got mixed up in resulting in death.. Anyway.. Maybe an idea to ponder for a video ;)
Is this the only place to do those code puzzles? I did not do this quest in far Harbour as I blew up the sub as fast as I could, and I never went into that back room in the command center, I’m confused as I remember doing those quests but I never accessed it from the command center
