There must be a simple answer to this question, but I'm not smart enuf to figure it out! What dimensions would be used if one wants to build a pantograph that duplicates on an exact 1:1 basis? Yours did 2:1. Thanks!

It’s swing weight and bad technique. Usually, not always, more weight means more swing weight. If your technique is good and you are utilizing the kinetic chain (ground > legs > core > arm) you won’t have issues except in firefights where you must make sudden arm-only movements and even those are more shoulder-related.
He’s coming from a tennis background. If he was/is a 4.5 (or higher) USTA rated player, he probably used a “heavier” player’s tennis racket. Those rackets weigh 12.5 to 13.5 oz strung. So 10 oz. is light for him. Speaking from experience.
True but the time between hits is far less so the reaction time is different. He may be used to it, but the the weight between tennis and PB is apples and oranges. I come from a TT background and rackets are far lighter, but the smaller field (the table) makes it necessary because the ball is on you in less time and reaction time must be even faster. It’s also wristier.
@@mingezballs don't travel as fast in PB compared to tennis. Also, the court is smaller and it's easier to get away with bad form in PB. Also, there are different types of tennis players. Ones with long strokes and compressed strokes. You should play with the heaviest racquet/paddle you can handle without hindering your game
YOU’RE THE MAN WALTER! 🏓
Thanks for the Great demo video. Where can get the tennis color cloth tape?
How did you come up to 10oz? What is the general guidance for optimal swing weight based on stroke style?

In tennis it is common to counterbalance by putting lead in the handle. Is it common in pro paddle setups to do this?
Can you share what brand and where you got the cloth tape?
I think he is using Hockey Tape? Do an Amazon search for hockey tape.

1g is 0.035oz, not 0.35oz
A heavy paddle doesn't cause arm issues its a LIGHT paddle. Vibrations and paddle twist.

I use a feather weight and have no issues. I also use my whole body to swing and hit the ball

Wow so complicated can’t even wrap my head around it rocket science is easier
One gram is not 0.35 ounces. One gram is .035 ounces. Huge difference.

10 oz? That’s seems extremely heavy.
