  • After planting more sweet corn it's time to get out the herbicide sprayer and burn down the weeds with some glyphosate, 2,4-d and 20 gallons of 28% nitrogen.

I can't believe how fast them tomatoes are growing.

Yeah, our spring was relatively sunny which really helped even though the seeding date was delayed by a week from prior years. We just started picking a few days ago and things should ramp up quickly now that they’ve started. I’ll definitely have several videos showcasing our tomato harvest soon.

I’m excited to see the determinate tomato in the greenhouse
And the new GoPro 12 is the same way

I just noticed today that they have a little bit of 24D herbicide damage at the growing point of the tomato, fortunately it’s not too bad so they should come out of it and I am really curious to see how they do as well. I can’t believe GoPro can’t make an option to turn front and rear mic on together, how stupid.

Mic works just fine for all your camera work where u r right by the camera.
And we r jealous up here in Canada. We just got a small hit of snow last night. So we typically can't b planting veggies or anything garden related for another couple of weeks. I'm so ready to go and start playing in my gardens

Thanks for the feedback on the mic. Things have been really warm here lately, but we’ve also been getting just enough rain that the ground won’t dry out enough for me to disk and lay my beds so I’m starting to sweat a little bit.
Even though it’s really warm, I have seen a late frost on May 23 before that burnt me pretty good and I remember one year we got almost 2 inches of snow in late April that nearly covered my sweetcorn, but fortunately it melted pretty quickly and nothing was injured.

It sounds good Jason. Better to raise volume in editing then have no sound if mike gets muted or falls off.

Thank you, yeah April and May are probably the most stressful two months for me getting everything started and people hired, but there’s no slowing down until after Labor Day now!

Thanks for the greenhouse spot checks. I’ve been curious as to how the tomatoes were growing.
For your herbicides, if you have any extra left over at the end of the growing season, do you keep them in the same shed throughout the winter or do you move to a more climate controlled area? If kept outside, have you ever noticed any degradation in potency the next year?
In the past I’ve kept mine outside in my shed and seemed like it degraded and clumped. This past winter I moved them inside my garage, especially when we dipped to below 10 degrees. They seemed to be fine and mixed well when I did my burn down this spring. 😅

For nearly 20 years, I would put all of my chemicals in my walk-in cooler with a heater to keep it from freezing but for the last three or four years, I’ve only been putting in the fungicides, my chem Dealer told me that freezing does not hurt herbicides or insecticides And I haven’t noticed any difference at all. I do remember one year that my premix for pre-emergent corn was a little clumpy, it was a generic bicep two magnum, which is just dual and atrazine, but other than that, I have never noticed anything. Thanks Mike.!
