      This is untrue. Jimmy Johnson is a wanderer. He was campaigning to be the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars during the entire 1993 season. He just hated having the same job for more than 5 or 6 years, and he loved Florida.
      Jerry Jones played offensive tackle on a national championship Arkansas Razorback football team. Jerry Jones made the Hershel Walker trade happen. Jerry and Jimmy were both equally responsible for the rise of the Cowboys, and they both were responsible for the team not being able to maintain that success... but Jimmy Jonson walked himself out the door. Jerry probably would have sucked it up and kept him aboard, but Jimmy just wanted a new job in Florida.

      @Handsome B. Wonderful How many years did Jimmy work at Oklahoma State? How many years did Jimmy work at U of Miami? How many years did Jimmy work with the Dolphins? Jimmy has said it himself, he doesn't ever want to have a job for more than 5 or 6 years.
      Jimmy wanted to become the head coach of the expansion Jaguars. That's actually what set off Jerry Jones to want him to get rid of Jimmy anyway... Eventually they mutually parted ways. Jimmy took a year off then got the Dolphins job. He only had that for 5 seasons before retiring to the Florida Keys.

      It's not untrue. When Jimmy Johnson traded for DT Tony Casillas. Jerry Jones tried to steal the spot light and said, he made the trade. Their relationship went down hill from there. Johnson was not ready to leave yet, he built a dominant team and knew he can win more Super Bowls.

    Mr. Jerry Jones, I have been a harsh critic of yours, but I do appreciate the work that you have been doing the last few years, staying away from the sexy pick like Johnny football, and drafting for substance like offensive linemen. Those good decisions are now setting the tone for what could be a playoff run this year and maybe even a Superbowl run as well. Why not? But why not induct Jimmy Johnson into the Ring of Honor. He deserves it as much as anybody else that is up there. Let's finally drop the bad feelings and do the right thing and move on with life.

    • @tonygarcia9832
      @tonygarcia9832 10 лет назад +1

      Same here but Johnson coming back wouldn't be the same. I think the game has passed Johnson by. He didn't do too much with Miami. They made great picks with the trade made to Minny with Herschel Walker. That's the only reason this Dallas team was solid. They had a solid O-line, which was good not just run blocking but pass blocking from Fullback, Tailback, Guards, Center and Tackles. Oh, yeah, and the TE.

    • @daviekuklatv
      @daviekuklatv 10 лет назад

      Tony Garcia they had no one in miami. and miami practiclly begged him to do the job, i think he would have went back to the Canes in all honesty. but with an old marino and a real useless defense he actually did well with what he had, the owner was also an iddiot.

    • @100spurs
      @100spurs 6 лет назад

      Bruh the game has way passed him. If Jerry Jones would’ve called Jimmy again, it would’ve been in 2000.

    • @tysoncowan5192
      @tysoncowan5192 4 года назад

      I'm not convinced that "the game has passed him by". Besides the advanced method in which stats are collected and interpreted. Players are bigger and faster, but beyond that what has happened that he couldn't grasp? The RPO, Wildcat, other "innovative schemes" lol He's got a lifetime of REAL IN GAME EXPERIENCE. He's seen just about every scenario possible. If anything he's passed the game up. If you're worried todays players wouldn't respond, that's one thing. But the idea that he's incapable of coaching the best football players, at the highest level because time has passed.......? That's laughable to say the least.

      Jimmy would never coach again because he likes his boat in Florida too much. It is also the reason why he quit coaching the Cowboys in the first place. He had it planned. He just needed an excuse. He signed for 5 years, he coached 5 years and left. Simple as that.

    Of the top 100 things wrong with professional sports, Jerry Jones is about 90 of them. They'll never win again as long as he's calling the shots.

    The Cowboys dynasty the greatest in NFL history. Had that team stayed together 4 maybe 5 SBS in row. I don't like to take sides in why JJ and JJ divorced but they both were to blame.
    I've heard former plaayers like Irving say "if Jimmy had only let Jerry play with toy he had spent 140mil on things could have been different. If you listen to Switzer about Jerry ripping up his first contract you get an understanding why Jerry felt he had to fire Johnson. After firing Johnson. Jerry said he could finally feel good about the person looking back at him in mirror.
    You know has yet to tell his side of story. When reflect on all that was going on between the two Jimmy had psychologically made a Jerry subordinate to him. If you really want to understand the dynamics of their relationship? Everyone should watch the joint interview of Jerry and Jimmy with Bob Costas.

    If add the Superbowls that the 49ers won in 94 and the one that the Packers won in 96 to the total, the Cowboys would've had won more Superbowls than the Steelers, 49ers and Patriots.

    I'm thinking Jerry was probably always jealous of Jimmy even back in their Arkansas football days. Jimmy is clearly more likeable, got more attention, and is better looking. Jimmy has a swag money just can't buy. Even look at the man's hair all these years. Jerry was hatin' fo sho!!!
