Nascar in 87: Pit road completely covered with water? What the hell are you complaining about, get out there and drive pansy!!!! Nascar in 23: We need a half hour caution to blow off the dirt on the apron
@@jeremyfoley7385 Also before his passing, on NBC/TNT. Even had a guest appearance with CBS at the 1984 Talladega 500 cause he crashed in Qualifying earlier in the weekend and also did color commentary for the syndicated SETN in the mid 80s cause his team was not a full time Cup series team. He is missed by everybody.
Slick Johnson was a real bad ass short track driver out of south Carolina who was track champion at timonsville speedway he lost his life in a arca race in February 1990 at daytona
Does anyone have the MRN radio call of this race? I had the finish on cassette years ago and it was funny, Benny Parsons interviewing Richard Petty (Who finished 2nd behind Earnhardt) RP's comments about Dale's rough driving were quite humorous.
I miss these tracks when you used to see mountains and the landscape outside the track, instead of nothing but people and grands stand like today. Today these tracks just feel claustrophobic.
I agree the asphalt Bristol was a lot better I miss the old bristol before boss hogg blew the mountain down an had a highway out in am ruint the place .I live in bristol an have to look at that place everyday as I go to work
@@brianbooher7318 my dad leased and ran the Exxon gas station just a few miles north of the track, '77-82. Moved to Denver, Colo after that. Plaza Exxon. I remember seeing a lot of people on that mountain watching for free. It was a little sad to see it gone after I noticed on tv several years ago.
Six wins in the first eight races including four in a row. Never in the Modern era was it done before Earnhardt and never was it done after, nor will it ever be. The greatest driver that ever competed in NASCAR, hands down.
@@nohbody85 nah I watched that era and he was good but he could not nor ever could wear pearson or pettys shoes. Could not match either in wins. I think 305 wins beats 76.

Didn't expect a NASCAR race to use "Karn Evil 9" haha
ELP somehow works for this, but yes very odd choice
I love short track racing
Miss the Winston Cup
Earnhardt sure showed his muscle that day, didn't he?
More like the entire year he won the championship by almost 500 points
More like Showed his ass
@@brianbooher7318boohoooohooooooo. Imagine still hating a man 22 years after his death. Whaaaaaaaaa. Boohooooooooo 🤣
He was a asshole. I use to cheer him on but when you can replay the race you can see just how much of a asshole he could be.
Yea knocking people out of the race was his style he was the biggest pos in Nascar
I love how much slower the slow cars are
Which is funny because the cars were faster on the superspeedways due to no restrictor plates
We all knew about Dick Trickle. But I am today years old when I have heard of the legend that is Slick Johnson.

New to nascar what better year to start than watching the whole 87 season
2 years later, GONE, RIP TR
I was there
I guarantee that tires weren't the only things that needed changing after that Geoff Bodine spin out. If you catch my drift

Great racing! Thanks for the upload. Do you have the 1988 Motorcraft 500 from Atlanta?
Yes, I do. Last race from 1988 not on here. Expect to see it within the next week
