Nascar in 23: We need a half hour caution to blow off the dirt on the apron

@@jeremyfoley7385 Also before his passing, on NBC/TNT. Even had a guest appearance with CBS at the 1984 Talladega 500 cause he crashed in Qualifying earlier in the weekend and also did color commentary for the syndicated SETN in the mid 80s cause his team was not a full time Cup series team. He is missed by everybody.

Does anyone have the MRN radio call of this race? I had the finish on cassette years ago and it was funny, Benny Parsons interviewing Richard Petty (Who finished 2nd behind Earnhardt) RP's comments about Dale's rough driving were quite humorous.

**POINTS STANDINGS and WINS before the 1987 SOUTHEASTERN 500 (7 of 29):**
#3 Dale Earnhardt Sr (1025pts with 4 wins, GM)
#9 Bill Elliott (-117 with 1 win, Ford)
    #75 Neil Bonnet (-155, GM)
    #43 Richard Petty (-192,GM)
#15 Ricky Rudd (-220 with 1 win, Ford)
    #17 Darrell Waltrip (-235, GM)
    #11 Terry Labonte (-240, GM)
    #35 Benny Parsons (-252, GM)
Rusty Wallace (GM #27 in 10th) was often near the top but couldn’t quite close the deal. The best rookie of 1986, Alan Kulwicki (Ford #7 in 14th), kept mixing great results with troublesome races and so did Geoff Bodine (GM #5 in 15th). Meanwhile, the 2nd-best driver in 1986, Tim Richmond, had to skip the start of the season for “pneumonia” (it was AIDS)
Drivers listed are the season's current top8, last season's top8 plus the rookie of the year before and whatever race winner that doesn't fit any of those 2 descriptions. Yes, I’m using the unsponsored names of the races. In Bristol’s case, the earlier race is the Southeastern 500 while the later one is the Volunteer 500.

I miss these tracks when you used to see mountains and the landscape outside the track, instead of nothing but people and grands stand like today. Today these tracks just feel claustrophobic.
