    Enjoying your perspective Mabel. I have lived between Saudia Arabia and Dubai since 2015 and have never felt safer or as respected. It is nice too know that the same respect is afforded to the young.

    I agree, I lived there for 3 years and I have never felt so safe, infact I don’t think I ever questioned my safety.
    Would walk home alone most nights with head phones in and never even thought about it.
    Other countries feel majorly different xxxx

    I walk around in AD until 3AM and chat with my sister and I would never feel scared at all. I'd walk alone until 12 am or 1 am and my sister would be shocked that nothing happened to me because she paranoid lol

    I never locked my door and I live in a villa, my car keys are always in the car even when I leave it at the beach.. I forgot my phone in several shops only to get back there and find it where I’ve left it! Also I going out at night is super safe!

    Is it true that if you get sexually assaulted/r*ped, as a woman, do you face jail time? I’m not trying to be problematic when I ask this, just a genuine question! That’s always what has kept me from considering moving to Dubai.

    Personal Safety in any country all depends on an individuals financial ability. Living in Dubai Marina or Business Bay or Downtown, ofcourse anyone will feel totally safe. I know cos these are the only 3 places i stay when i visit.. Same as living in Central London or Beverly Hills or West Vancouver.. Feeling Safe is one thing, Feeling Free is far greater.. The worst fear is to be afraid of the State powers of a country especially when it even tries to control Personal lives of its citizens/Residence.. Its ok for those who like being told or controlled, but totally disgusting for many.. Many people are not investing in Dubai or buying properties cause face value it feels like year 2035 in Dubai, but also taste like year 1600.. The only attraction for me in UAE is cos its TAX FREE.. Atleast this Pandemic has shown Dubai that upon its Glitters, its still very Vulnerable, now few tourists and few investments. I hope in time, Old Religious and Cultural rules will have no place in a new and beautiful city like Dubai, and also UAE.. Great vids Mabel.. Hope UAE laws not affecting u and Korner, you dont show him that much. Cool dude..

      Are you dumb? How do you think they achieved the lowest crime rates in the world? Its because of their religious values. Its the beauty of Sharia Law. And it will NEVER get rid of those laws.

    I’ve visited Dubai a many times and after news stories of people being arrested for arbitrary reasons I always felt really unsafe and not truly free. Dubai has a lot of laws that police tend not to enforce, but then sometimes do. For example what if I went for a drink and then a walk and the police decided not to turn a blind eye to me drunk in a public place and I ended up in prison...or staying with my boyfriend unmarried together in an apartment (if you are caught staying the night at your boyfriends you may face punishment under Article 356 of UAE Penal Code...). There are countless examples.
    I guess what I’m saying is living in a regime where it has the impression of liberty but you really don’t have it (it’s just by good will of police not enforcing stuff), is not a safe way to live. I always felt like I was on edge watching my back.

    • @mabelgoulden872

      Interesting perspective! Yes there are so many stories like this in the media especially in western countries. I have never heard of it in real life though interestingly. I was quite wary of the police and instances like this when I first moved. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and watching my video! 😊

      U will hear alot of if i can say fake news and stories of UAE u will never know the truth unless u visit and see by your self The UAE is one of the best place to live in and raise your kids i rather the law to be as tough as it should be just to grant me and my family the safest life ever

    • @GenniferLee

      I totally get what you are saying. I want to visit and take my family. Dubai looks so nice, but as a foreigner I don't want to unknowingly do something illegal and end up in jail. From what I understand it is so safe because the penalties can be very harsh. It's just the downside of being an outsider. Where I live currently has crime for sure, but I feel like I know more or less what and what not do, where to go and where to avoid. It's different when you're somewhere so new.

    • @whitehor
      @whitehor 3 года назад

      @@GenniferLee that’s the thing isn’t it - you don’t really know where you stand in Dubai if you want to live like a westerner in what is actually quite a conservative country legally. someone who takes a dislike to you can report you for staying over at your boyfriends and that’s illegal so you can suddenly face harsh penalties. Yes there’s crime in other countries but I guess it depends on your definition of safe.

    To be honest it is very true that Dubai is safer and I feel the safest. where I come from India it is not safe at all here women and girls are not safe even for a second and the system is also not that strict. the culprits, goons and stalkers are freely doing what they want to without any sense of fear. There is no right action taken against them and they get away with it. i being a man don't feel safe here so women and girls are just in tremendous danger they are treated unfairly.
