Truthfully I didn't get what I needed from this video to fix the housing, but I liked because that was absolutely hilarious. Cheers, brother.
Just finished this job and removing the alternator and tension was totally unnecessary for me. It just wiggled out then I put the new one in.
Just did mine last weekend. Had to shut the garage door because there are kids next door and the profanity was intense.
Better to take your emotions out on the car. Otherwise those feelings come out on things, and in places they don't belong. Now that it's done, I hope you feel all warm, and fuzzy inside.
Been ALL day on mine. 02 never been changed. Them 8mm bolts in aluminum is flat out Furd dumb. I've cut, cussed, pryed, cussed, hammered, cussed. Damn thing still on there. I will never ever have another FURD. I spell it that way, close to TURD..... Let's be honest.
No holes were stuck in during the making of this video.
Great video 👍 thanks for posting. Quick question for you. What's that long cable you used to get the tension off that clamp? I'm currently stuck replacing my housing unit because I can't get that short hose off. Thanks!
Flexible hose clamp pliers. that is an old blue point one.
@@RustBeltAuto great! Thanks for the info and quick reply. Your video is extremely helpful and you have an awesome upbeat attitude!
@@lafamiliahernandez3015 Some people don't think so, but thank you. Car stuff is difficult to deal with, and it is even harder to make people laugh. Thank's for watching!
@@RustBeltAuto you're welcome! And you've got that right. I could never have done repairs on my truck without RUclips and knowledgeable folks like you. Thanks again and the best of luck to you in all endeavors!
After watching this I'll never work on my truck again
That thermostat is on crack. 🤘😂
Video told me I never want to buy a Ford again.
Was there something I missed?
@@RustBeltAuto nope got the part out cause of this videos. I thought I had to pull the intake off. Ty!
@@joelmonk1551 😂🤣😂🤣
You don't need to remove the alternator to replace housing
Yep I replaced it once already now it happened again dont use plastuc
You fast forward through reinstalling the retaining clip!!! I can’t get my clips back in🙈
You mean the pinch clamps?
is the 2001 full of plastic junk? I am thinking of buying a 2001 XLT with only 35,000 miles on it.
It's 21 year old plastic? Honestly, I cannot answer questions like that. People give me these things to work on, and tell me how great they are. I wouldn't buy one though. I like Honda cars, and Chevy trucks, but that's just me.
Damn.. 35 thousand miles. I bought a 2001 with 140 thou and been driving daily for three years now. This housing is the first thing to break. Great little truck!
next time just remove the throttle body for thermostat access. takes maybe two minutes tops vs removal of alternator.
Dude thanks! If only they would have done everything different on that set up....like not use ABS plastic...not hide bolts.....maybe lift the throttle body an eighth inch higher.....
A bit of humility might help you
I got that one covered.
Damn, that GaYRanger was clapped. Does buddy run drugs back and forth from Mexico?
LoL at the drain pan the size of the vehicle!
Gotta LOVE all that plastic! I hear BMW has the BEST plastic parts!
You got all those bolts easily since you're good at fishing!
Couldn't you get a better housing than the China special? That thing looks sketchy! 4 day warranty on that baby?
OKAY BYE!
2 is too many. 2 video's, and four questions is 3 too many.
@@RustBeltAuto I will only ask one question from now on master!
@@RustBeltAuto Can I ask an extra question if it's a leap year?
@@BarnStangz you can ask one half of one question. That way I won't have to answer it.
@@RustBeltAuto I will add _____ and then you'll have to fill in the answer. But I don't want this to bring back high school testing anxiety!
You love to work on T_ _ _ _ _ 's !
Big mistake replacing with that pos. You should use an all metal aftermarket......makes the housing 100% a long lasting part. The crap you used....2 years at best and the poor bastid is in for another labor job.
