I'm pretty sure there was a community server that ran a map with the exact same train as helltrain but instead of spells it was grappling hooks to make up for only one bridge.
I'm highly sure that Helltrain was inspired by Convoy, a really old CTF map that had a similar premise, you had to board the other team's train to capture their intel.

The fact that TF2 even has the code set up in a way that only one Payload can get pushed AND it shows only one Payload in the HUD is beyond bizarre. Crazy spaghetti code.
oh no, 2 can be shown (see hightower or any other payload race map). Its just that valve/map maker somehow screwed it up so only one is shown in the hud as if the other cart doesnt even exist
It’s probably a problem with the update, when making a mirrored map such as payload race you copy the part of the map you want to mirror (such as the payload) if it was mistakenly not changed from blu to red then it would show multiple points for blu layered on top of the original blu points in the hud.
@@commanderboom2626 most likely the map Creator did not compile the map correctly and properly set the parameters for payload race. Looks more like it's trying to use payload rather than payload race. Typically a map sided decision
I experienced this firsthand and oh boy, the hilarity that ensued was amazing. As for what I think, I wonder if they even playtested it before they released the update, lol.
@@bloodbrawler1438 It's because Valve still does in house compiles after accepting maps into the game for TF2. And supposedly they were renaming some of the entities related to the Payloads but hid some of the logic related to Red's making it uncapable. To my understanding yeah the Workshop compile works fine in contrast.
the really fun thinga bout crasher is the fact that the half-zatoichi healing effect is scaled up, so if you're low on health, just swing at a scout or something near you and heal half your health. it does have the same glaring weakness with instant kills from other half-zatoichi users though
The new maps look super cool, though I haven’t gotten a chance to play them yet. The cosmetic case was also a step up from last years, as was the warpaint case. Overall not bad.

Ok, besides the one mode just not working, I think the player models changing is fun, there’s a lot of new and unique maps, and then there’s the bugs, but they make it funny so I don’t mind. Overall, good update.
Bonesaw best map. Truly one of the most maps of all times. The textures? They're truly there. The map exists. This has got to be the best scream fort 2 1/2.
I played the giant one It’s very annoying Only burning flames unusual hat players get pockets even though I’m 5 feet away from their gate and die cause no medic is paying attention to anyone without an unusual
I'm really liking the updates as of recent, i.e, the last two. I mean, of course I'd prefer new weapons and stuff, but so would everybody. For what they are though they're pretty good.

That's the problem with automatic community maps. No play testing. However I think these maps are incredible most of all the titan map. If that became a game mode I would absolutely love it.
Crashers is easily one of the most fun things to come out of Scream Fortress in a while, but in a rather poetic twist, loading into a new match of it always crashes my game. I have to leave the server at the end and matchmake into another in-progress game every time.
Have to say, the tf2 halloween is my least favourite event, and irl halloween too, but this year it was different, the giants with 5000 hp, the broken saw, i loved this years halloween.
It sucks because I like the new maps, but hate all the garbage that comes with them. Spells, crit pumpkins, skeletons...just give me the map by itself!

I think you should try out to play Payday 2!
I love the Helltrain map as well as the new taunts. I have yet to learn if the Robo Demo cosmetic changes your voice lines.
