Unless they sort defence out, and become compact unit again they never winning the league. Last chance for Klopp to salvage season, is he going to learn or keep going same way? Creating chances is not the problem, so chances will come important is not to concede first and foremost. Play Jota or Salah up front, Nunez on bench as impact player only.

We’ve got to be honest with ourselves. We never looked like a title winning team. We bulldozed our way in but you can’t sustain that over a course of a season.
We can’t defend all season, we lose control in almost every game for a spell, how many points has Ali saved us. Our attack is what masked over our structural issues all season…until now

@@Robert-ks5ix we will lose on Thursday night and lose 3 of our last 6 games. Man City will win all their games and finish 11 points ahead of us and 7 ahead of Arsenal as I think they will lose one game and draw one.
As much as I love Klopp, I'm looking forward to a fresh new coaching staff next season. We've been relying on vibes and energy for four years, our gameplans and tactics have sucked. We haven't looked formidable since 2019. That was five years ago.
The biggest mistake Klopp made was giving Ljinders more power and responsibility. As a tactical muse, the guy is a quack.
2015 to 2018 were Buvac's methods. Fresh and exciting but open at the back. 2019 to 2020 was mainly Klopp, impregnable at the back, compact through the middle and lethal up front. 2020 onwards has been Ljinders - half baked, casual, complacent and arrogant. We went from more than the sum of our parts, to less.
It's the lack of football IQ and preparation that really bugs me. The stupid high line that we adopted in 2022 epitomises it. Sure we caught a lot of teams offside, but we were also rolling the dice, and putting more unnecessary miles into the legs of injury prone defenders chasing down offside attackers. And then we'd admonish the linesman for not raising his flag straight away when we ALL knew that they're under instruction to keep the flag down until the play has ended. We are laced with so much stupidity, and desperation to be clever. We weren't trying to be clever in 2019, we just simply played to our own strengths, and look what it got us.
Said it all season. Title winning sides don't scrap for a win week in week out. They may do it once but we are consistently trying to scrap a win. Some players on that pitch are consistently below par unfortunately. Not good enough for LFC.

So frustrated , Chloe you sum it up , some didn’t seem bothered. They need practising shooting at goal six hours +2 more hours per day. We’ve had so many shots at goal since the loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup and we don’t seem to be converting them into actual goals.😤😤😤😤

Just heartbreaking, Chole, but in all honesty we’ve been getting away with it for a while now, and finally we’ve snapped.
Although I think Klopp’s made some strategic errors recently, he didn’t deserve this. A few players need to move on, including Salah, I’m sad to say.
I just hope Amorim does come, and then builds the team again. The front line aren’t cutting it, but we’ve got a good midfield and some amazing youngsters who will come through.
I hope for a miracle midweek, and if anyone can do it, we can. I’m not expecting it to happen, but we may as well go all in now, discounting the league title.

We clearly didn't want to win those two big trophies remaining. How the team completely changed is a mistery. We should have been very motivated, committed and passionated.
Its amazing how every time we go a goal down to any team, we have looked desperate and nervous even after being at our best. While if city go down, they always have a way to win. Take for example the way they beat aston villa on the last day and within 5 minutes after trailing for almost 60 to 65 mins. While we knew thaat its gone when vinicious scored the one goal.
I dont understand why we can't play simple pass and move football. We always have to try and play the hardest passes (Trent and Jones).
Good one Chloe to put out about LFC lost. We will have to hope LFC do well on Thursday. Good to see Liverpool under 21 beat Man Utd on Friday 3-0 away from home
In retrospect, it seems as if Klopp's unnecessary disclosure may have ruined our season.
My thoughts too, this was supposed to be a building season for Klopp's MK 2.0 Liverpool team, the aim was maybe a trophy and top 4, but the landscape changed with the news of our manager's departure. We were doing so well and all of a sudden the mindset was we've got to win for Klopp, extra pressure, it's like the players are maybe trying too hard to win and having a mentality freeze.
This team have succeeded in what was the original directive, I suppose we can take some comfort from that YNWA

the utilization of subs killed this game, leaving Curtis on for that long, not using quansah, salah being left on while Diaz is being taken off, and how bad are we at counter attacking these days, and passing, and keeping possession. Absolutely pathetic and a season ender, what a joke.
I share your disappointment Chloe, I think that's it for the season, we have completely run out of steam and energy. But I'm positive for the future and hopefully amorin will take over from klopp and make us sharper on and off the ball.
People dismiss Henderson, but he was a colossal of a captain. In moments like this, he would not let standards drop. Same with Milner. Those guys were leaders.
After what happened midweek, how difficult is it just to sit in tight for 30 minutes and not concede an early goal, just to settle the nerves? Not hard. Either the management failed to tell the players that or the players aren't good enough to execute it.
The players as well as crowd look and feel completely drained…. Oh well you have to earn the title no one has a god given right just to turn up and expect it to fall in their lap…
Trouble is he keeps changing centre backs as he does midfield. Van Dijk/Qanasah has been the most settled preparing, so why bring unfit Konate in…wasn’t Atlanta showing good enough. Curtis Jones unfit, Salah - Tired. Nunez - needs to be benched. Today all of these guys should’ve been on the bench.
At some point you have to stop making excuses, they're tired? Arsenal and City aren't? These players play as if they're being forced, and all the while they're asking for wage increases as if they weren't being paid enough, but they've managed to lose cups and championships that were well within their reach. ...

We literally had to get through 10-12 injuries our World class players injured 2-3 months and these lads (kids) had to play what can we do

The Atalanta reply could be more important than we think. If we could come back from 3-0, it might kick start our mentality for the final games.
This season characterizes Klopp’s tenure. This team has underachieved so much. We have always had as good a chance as City to win leagues but at critical points, we don’t step up as a team to do “everything” to get over the line. We have a let’s go again next season mentality.

I love Liverpool FC because it's a club full of romance, values, and a special culture that includes a strong sense of socialism and the passionate, activist side of the supporters. Every time we fall behind the commentators mention how many points we’ve gotten from losing positions. IMO we’ve been punching above our weight all season and our luck has run out and we’re reverting back to the mean.
A week's a long time in football. Hopefully this week's a better one. Who to say we can just click because this team has shown a high level up until Utd. What's to say we get 3 in Bergamo and we do six of the best for the title with city dropping points at Spurs.
Maybe there's one more twist for our kaiser yet.

I watched game against United,against Atalanta and again,with Palace,we are playing like a Championship team,to be honest,Salah lost interest(he will leave end of the season,i'm 90% sure) Diaz ,Nunez,Szobo,they didn't exist, defensive,we are worst than last year,we lack ideas in opponents half,we give ourselves too many balls to them,basically,season is done for us ,finished in only ONE WEEK,i still believe in them,but we need something to wake us up,and we need it fast,we might end up on 3rd,my only consolation is fact Arsenal lost against Villa and we are dealing ,more or less with City,but ,yeah,need to do something very fast,otherwise...

I must one of few who are disappointed but not heartbroken. We don’t look like a title winning team at all. This is all a bonus for us. I was only hoping momentum/emotion could get us stumbling across the line.
A lot of blame on players again for missing chances and looking disjointed! However its all on Klopp again as he promised a reaction from Atalanta defeat and nothing new at all! Focus now unfortunately is just to mathematically secure top 4! Don't get me wrong I will miss Klopp when he leaves but going forward it feels like a new younger manager is so needed!

The FA Cup loss and PL draw against Man Utd seem to have badly dented LFC's confidence - both matches we should have won. Yet if it hadn't been for the Diaz non goal against Spurs, the Odegaard non penalty against Arsenal and the Doku non penalty against City, we would be at least 5 points better off.
@thereunionparty don’t let us dwell on those stuffs because it seems like an excuse now. We could have easily taken our chances against teams like Luton (away), Brighton (away), the man unto game (both legs) but we didn’t. Winning those matches about would have been essential to us being far off on top of d league. @@alefemi8356 I take your point but if we had had the benefit of those missing 5 points that were ref/VAR denied we would have been more relaxed in front of goal, not snatching at chances and making bad decisions eg shooting when we should pass, passing when we should shoot.

So the season will now 'pan out' as we've won The Carabo Cup & got 3rd spot.. Some teams (mentioning no names) would be made up with that...
