    I Have Had 4 Ford Edges. 2018.2020.2022 And Now Have A 2024. This SUV Is A Monster! I Have Put Them Through All The Paces. This Was A Big Loss When Ford Stoped Making Them.

      I heard through some Ford Reps that they will reintroce the Edge in a hybrid and EV. So who knows.

    I have a 2016 SEL which I bought almost a year ago. It had 119,000 miles on it and I put almost 18,000 on it. It still drives and rides very well and I have had no trouble with it except for the PTU, which was repaired under the warranty (I bought it at a dealership). I got the 3.5 6 cyl which was the engine in my previous 2 Fords and they were both extremely reliable. I also like the 2016 because I don’t care for the rotary dial transmission selector knob. My only complaints about it is if you are loading something into the back and you have the key in your pocket sometimes the hatch will start to close on you. The other thing is if the door is unlocked it will sometimes lock on you if you have the key on you. Other than that it’s a very nice car and I would recommend it to anyone thinking about one.

      You may be kicking underneath the rear bumper which activates the hands free liftgate.

    I have a 2014 Edge SEL with 3.5 V6 getting 289 hp. Love it. I call her Zippy because she’s fast. It’s a good size without being over the top huge. Wondering what Ford will replace it with, if anything. Maybe in a couple of years I’ll buy a used 2024 ST.

      I'd trade that if I were you unless you've already preemptively replaced that water pump. The 3.5 and 3.7 in front wheel drive were nice for better torque than the 4 cylinder turbo but that water pump will spill internally and then you need a new engine because antifreeze ruins bearings very quickly.

    I wonder how the ecosport engine in this model other displacement varies from one that was having serious mechanical failures, in the escape.

    • @HawkeyeRides
      @HawkeyeRides  2 месяца назад +1

      It's hard to say as some of these problems are from owners not servicing the vehicle which makes any engine bad.

    I have two issues with the Ford Edge: first, pressure in the vehicle while driving over 60km/hr makes my ears pop. Secondly, as a driver, the seat gives me a sore back often. As for the back seats, my son being 6’2” can’t sit in the back bc there’s not enough leg room for him.

      Had 1 too. I traded in before I hit 60k to avoid even worse resale value. Good vehicle but on the used market once they hit 70k miles or even worse are only FWD they lose value quick.
