This is facts. I was thinking the same thing during the whole off-season. Or Keep Justin trade for the haul and sit Justin behind Russell but no Poles is going out on a limb and starting a rookie QB.
Same thought here, we had a couple of pieces (DJ Moore, Brian Burns, young but talented CBs) that could’ve been our base if we kept our draft picks. We sold our future for one guy that we weren’t even ready to take care of..
Turns out Justin Fields was not the problem in Chicago. It was the offensive line. The interior offensive line to be specific. Drafting a new QB ain’t going to fix that magically. That new QB is just going to be every defensive player’s snack. Same goes for Bryce Young. Though you also have several factors in play. His height doesn’t help, nor does starting his first year. The latter I think gave him several problems. Which you can see in his play this year. Feel bad for the kid.
The Panthers...thank you very much (Texans fan). Young may just need some time to watch a vet play and let the game slow down till Brooks gets off the IR perhaps?
What went wrong was drafting Bryce Young number 1 overall. If you wanted to take a chance on him in the 6th or 7th round I almost understand that based on his college exploits. Any casual fan could look at Bryce and his size and skill set and come to the conclusion that his abilities won’t transfer to the NFL. I did. I beat that drum. He has nothing special about his game, nothing, then add how gosh damn small he is and it’s a recipe for disaster.
As a Commanders fan, I'm still hopeful that Jayden will develop into a franchise QB, but The Bryce/QB Development situation is exactly why I screamed to anyone who would listen that we should have used the last 2 Super Cheap years of Sam Howell's contract to build out a roster that could support a young franchise QB and maximize the rookie deal. IMO it's not just about the QBs sitting and learning, it's about them having the talent to support them so you can maximize their rookie contract. Most of the best QBs got to sit, but more importantly, the real contenders started them out with playoff-caliber rosters built before they got there. I firmly believe there is no magical lottery ticket QB that can save a franchise, and any team, naturally picking within the top 10 shouldn't draft a QB. Because even the "Hit" Top 12-type QBs are just Fool's Gold & False Hope, and top 10 drafting teams will waste their rookie contract racing against it to build a contender, before having to pay them the type of money that strips the talent around them away. I think Washington would have been better off in the long run to have answered Minnesota's calls taken 11, 17 & a Future for 2, and Swapped out Jayden(& probably McCaffrey by not getting the extra 3rd for trading Sam) for Olu Fashanu and Brian Thomas Jr with everything else the same. We'd have Olu & Coleman developing together on the left side giving us a potentially strong future OL with Tyler Biadasz & Sam Cosmi, a tandem of Terry and Thomas to throw to, and a year left on Sam's contract following next draft to let us spend our top asset on BPA/top relative need in the 1st, then a traitsy guy like Drew Allar or Cam Ward to sit for a season while the team comes together.
Its simple. Bryce height is a direct reason why he's struggling. It hinders his field vision. He can't climb the pocket on edge rushers cause he can't see within the pocket behind 6ft5, 6ft4 olinemen. Having below average athleticism fails him also vs the best football athletes in the world for his improv game. His average arm is no better either. The lack of velocity on his throws doesn't allow him to fit pro game windows enough to get the job done. So what went wrong? Bryce physical attributes are failing him more than anything that Carolina has tried to put around him. & I haven't even mentioned the mental aspects of the game that he's currently screwing up with. Those brain attributes that he was dubbed to be next level at, compared to other QBs.
Where was the Commander topic? Im guessing they meant Bears. I would say out any team they are doing the best with how they handling our rookie QB. Simplify the offense give him easy throws early to his build confidence, run the ball more. This is how you should ease your QB into league, outside of sitting him for year.
It’s funny how Houston had 2 an 3 string linemen starting Stroud rookie year. You can see if the D line got pressure on Bryce in college he did the same and panic. But Bama just overmatched most teams. In the NFL the edge rushers are one of the highest paid players on the team. Why they out pressure on the QB and Bryce doesn’t do well with pressure
You are still looking for blame for Bryce not performing. Yet you can see the issues in college but Bama just over match their opponents. Look at preseason angaist the Bills seconds he play well. That’s how it was in college . Then again everyone of you talking heads were saying the he , Bryce, was NFL ready and could start. He was drafted for his football intelligence. You cannot see that in games he cannot read defenses. Please just stop he just isn’t a NFL ready QB.
The panthers were needing a whole roster around Bryce! Bryce Young I can’t put him on the bust level because people assume too much. But Bryce had no help at all in Carolina! Dude had the worst offensive line regardless of people shilling the improvements they made they are still bad! The Wide Receivers can’t separate from their defenders to save their lives at all like a possessed EX they don’t create space. The running backs? They are nonexistent to the point it’s 10 v 11 literally every snap that he was out there for.
Bryce was the least pressured QB in NFL in the game against the Chargers and he only managed to get 84 passing yards so what’s the excuse now?? This is the not o line had last season. Carolina’s o line PFF grades were amongst the best in the league against the charger. Go google it
Almost, your whole comment is false. The line this year is not the problem if you're even a watcher of the Panthers or just posting as a troll. Secondly, Thielen literally ran down the seam three steps ahead of coverage, throwing his hand up and no ball. The middle of the field, Dionte, was open several times, and BY would not throw it. Panthers RB Hubbard was averaging 6 yards per carry, so the running back comment is debunked as well. You can sit here and coddle a millionaire 1st round overall pick, but the bottom line is he was not doing his job. I guarantee if you don't do your job at a certain standard, you won't be benched, you'd be fired. He is still getting paid after losing his job, so to me, this is not a firing but a decompression which anyone else in any other profession and getting paid be less would be afforded.
@@4u2c95 My comment isn’t false at all. The offensive line is the problem and I have watched! I don’t need to take the side of “100 percent blame on Bryce” when my eyes see that the offensive line is still shit! Receivers still can’t separate and the running game is not a factor! I do my diligence on sports but I will NOT jump on the sheep train like you did or anyone else!
What happened? He wasn't the NFL ready QB that the establishment big shots said he was. The Bryce hype train was a lie. Some players peak in college. Just the way it is. The NFL is physically miles beyond what they see in college. As for Bryce, he never had a strong arm and his lack of height was always a problematic factor. He can't grow six inches, but he can build his arm strength. We'll see.
You can always tell which analysts don't actually watch all the tape because you want to sit there and talk about offensive line and how they need one have you not noticed that Carolina's past protection the first two games was outstanding and Bryce young was bailing on empty pockets and missing short empty passes Bryson looks terrible you actually watched all the games like I said there is no he has no weapons those excuses have gone out the window for me I'm sick of hearing it
There was no need to start Bryce Young last year. There was no chance for a winning season let alone a playoff run! Let him sit & learn, C J Stroud is a rarity.
Eh, it's more complicated than that. If you want to reduce everything to its basic element, than all a QB needs to do is throw the ball. The O line needs coordination, knowledge of the scheme. Blocking is different for passing than for runs, and each play may require different actions and skills. All of which requires a coach, and as with anything else, some people will be able to share their knowledge with other people more effectively with some people than others
@@amphilochusofmallus5070 I played receiver, I understand Blocking for a run is different from a pass block at the end of the day it's still only blocking one job.

I said the bears should of traded for Russell Wilson and sat Caleb behind him especially since Waldron worked with Russ. Bears are running another qb.
This is facts. I was thinking the same thing during the whole off-season. Or Keep Justin trade for the haul and sit Justin behind Russell but no Poles is going out on a limb and starting a rookie QB.
The Panthers shpuld have never made that trade. They weren't a QB away, they were half a roster away.

Jayden Daniels looks fine starting wdym?

Stroud was always the superior arm talent. Bryce does not have a strong arm, can't hit those tight NFL windows.
Bryce doesn’t compare to the average nfl QB let alone CJ.
Can you PLEASE accept the reality that Bryce Young is 5'7". He's 5 foot 7 inches. That's it.
I love what the Falcons have done. They got a solid Vet with a rookie with huge potential behind him...and this is coming from a Bucs fan, lol.

Poles should have traded back twice to rebuild the Oline and improve defense, and started Bagent who's Tom Brady 2.0!!

Sign Mason Cole Now!!!
How did he play at Alabama in the SEC?
This is all on the owner. These guys think because they made money in Wall Street they can run a football team. It’s not the same thing
They traded up to draft Colt McCoy first overall.
They should of kept Frank in the texas game he was 22-31 1 TD
Unless the Bears Online plays better do not start Caleb! Against the Texans he got beat up!
Carolina, David Carred him! Rule#1 in the NFL - You have to PROTECT the QB!
Even with protection, he held the ball too long. And his arm strength is lacking.
