I work in colorado and am absolutely baffled by the trees harry gets to work. Would love to make it to australia for at least a season just to say I did.
As a climber for many years i know the skills and drills, still deep respect for the job and the Risk that Comes with it, no room for mistakes great job. Greets from a climber in Holland
Nice work mate i just had my last climb this month hanging my spikes up good to see another good climber I spent many days in south west oz in the big ones :)
That is one of the funnest looking removals I have ever seen. I have climbed and removed 200+ foot trees here in Oregon, but not with multiples right next to each other to swing around in. Tons of fun. Good video!
Theres a 220 foot ponderosa pine pic on there for ya. It had about a 12 foot drop zone right by the power lines. Ive worked the old growth redwoods of northern cali for the last 6 years and climbed trees bigger than most have ever seen.
So couldn't find anything bigger? Been in the trees for a long time by the looks of it. Some people just have that natural talent and a lot of faith in their equipment.
Don't. You will be an absolute wreck at 50, if an injury doesn't take you out of the game sooner. I can no longer walk and I was an ISA champion climber.
@@andyp8752 No thanks Andy, I appreciate my privacy, and I don't really see how that invalidates my opinion or claims. But here's a clue, the Blake's Hitch and Dacron Poly 16strand were just becoming popular. Were you even alive then?

Tree work is tree work , it's what we signed up for. Check out are trees in Washington, are old growth trees are twice that size, just another day in the office. Mark k.
it is amazing to be able to work at those heights, reg coats has video and he is up around 250' you guys have that talent to be seemingly relaxed and perform well at those heights in very unpredictable conditions, cool camera shots, thank you.
I'm a climbing arborist with40 years experience and this guy is phenomenal his block are timed perfect landing flat. I use the same xp husky saw excellent high revving fast cutting machine for superior control.the trees look like giant eucalyptus trees is this in Australia. I'm in north Florida pines commonly reach 105 feet the tallest I have climbed was 130 plus estimated with 200 foot climbing rope.
Landing big blocks flat is done by using 1/5 rule. Normal 45% scarf, over 50% of the way in (for centre of gravity) and 1/5 of the height of the TREE to the drop zone. I.e if you have a 100 foot TREE then you would take a 20 foot section. And then the next block will be 1/5th of 80 etc. (The rule doesn't seem to be timber dependant and the angle of the scarf and how big it is will change the out come, so 1/5th, 50% of the way in with the scarf and 45% top cut flat bottom scarf.) Works Every time.
So far 75 clueless people have hit thumbs down. Wtf these guys are rigging tops at heights I can only dream of dropping. It's a massive thumbs up from me.
that would easily be a $30,000-$50,000 project in colorado and would probably take 4-5days to complete, nice work...nice project hope you got paid well for it👍🏼👊🏼
So I'm 17 and I live in America how do u have so much faith in your equipment to be able to get that high I really want to get into this field I'm just more afraid of equipment failure than any
And they are to close to the buildings . I ask what was first the trees or the houses . If the trees , why build so close , why not cut them bevor building . Or build houses somewhere else Is a pemisson needed for cutting them down ?
Dang, 120 ft is about the tallest we get here. Jealous. But, done plenty of them over houses, pools, fences, power lines. 200 ft sure would give some room to slideline .
Does anybody have an idea what kind of trees these are? I swear we have them growing in Texas now. Super fast growing, smooth bark with a very similar trunk base?
Eucalyptus Regnans also called Mountain Ash or Giant Ash in Australia. They grow a metre a year for about 90 yrs and then slow down and get wider. They are the tallest flowering trees in the world. They may also be the tallest trees in the world but the big ones have been logged out and bush fires have also taken many big ones
As a roofer I’m somewhat envious. That looks like a fun and rewarding experience. Good job.
You have the best playground for an arborist in the world I think!
Vancouver Island canada for me

Unreal mate!
How old are these trees you reckon? Is the lumber good for anything? Nice job!
Sad to see these ancient giants go! :(
They're an invasive species in the South US.

Spurs are tough to get a safe footing.
That’s a lot of wood. Used for lumber or firewood?
That was a big tree!!
I'd be curious to know what you charge for a project like this. I know you probably won't share. But high five to you. Cool vid

How do you place the climbing rope in the first place?
Man thats a nice high central tie in. Did you have to use an air cannon to get that high?
Big shot then spurred the rest, air Canon would be nice!
