Wow, it's the mid 90's again. I'm rocking this in my crappy Ford escort with a Sony discman playing through my cassette player with the tape adapter. Oh and I'm broke as hell but I still managed to buy cigarettes. 😂 🤟
Oh my lord this is so fucking amazing, i love this song from the bottom of my heart. Its the song which caused me to get to know Dream Theater and it was the Song which brought me to buy a 7 String probably one of my best decisions ever. I can't get enough of this masterpiece its literally a journey trough all emotions. Keep up the good work and i definetly need to cover this beast aswell. Its a must have in your prog metal music catalouge imo Great fucking Job bro
Haven't listened to this song all the way in a while. Great job! So many cool chords used throughout. You crushed the later 2 solos too. I think you captured Petrucci's tone and feel really well. Not easy to do on these ones. Surprisingly, I think my favorite part is the little slide lick transition at 17:00. Something about it is really cool to me.
Thanks! I probably spent the most time on that last long solo, pretty unusual timing wise. I really like that lick at 17:00 as well, simple but effective.
Il più bel brano progressive che sia mai stato scritto nella storia della musica. Questo è tutto ciò che si chiama progressive. Non c'è altro da dire. Capolavoro assoluto
Thanks! It took me a while to work out the intro, but I think I found a good compromise. I'll probably do a lesson on the intro, as I haven't seen a great version of it done on a 6 string.
@@Surmoka I did double it with electric. Plus I think he was using a piezo, so I felt it sounded more like original on acoustic since I don’t have an electric with a piezo
One of the most iconic intros
It is indeed
My favorite DT song.... I' m currently trying to learn all parts....
great great job !!
Thank you!
Dude this is so killer. Easily my favorite song of all time. Tones were all spot on. Pertucci is NOT easy to replicate. Props to you man!!!

I really hope the prog school play and upload lots of Dream Theater songs
I’ve done a few in the past already, I’m sure I’ll do more at some point!
What an epic effort! Even just learning all these parts! And the result sounds great. Hats off to you, sir.

Interesting rearrangement on the 6 string taylor, i like it. very smoooth as well all over great work
Thank you! It took me a while to figure out but I came up with a good compromise for the intro without needing a 7 string acoustic.
Whats the tuning for the 6 str?

Where did you get the Stems from?
Thank you, I found them online. I was actually surprised they worked at all
@@TheProgSchool It's my pleasure. If you can share the link, would appreciate it.
Why buy a 7 string acoustic guitar to play the acoustic intro when you can just take out the G for a low B string. Nice idea, man!
Thanks! It took me a while to work out the intro, but I think I found a good compromise. I'll probably do a lesson on the intro, as I haven't seen a great version of it done on a 6 string.
I actually bought an Ibanez 7 string acoustic just for this song 😂
@@faberbootlegs nice!!
Que tema más complejo 😪
I was wondering what was the tuning because it didn’t make sense to me. 😂
Very nice cover, but the intro part is not played on a tuned-down acoustic, it's regular 7-string electric.
@@Surmoka I did double it with electric. Plus I think he was using a piezo, so I felt it sounded more like original on acoustic since I don’t have an electric with a piezo
what is your accoustic guitar tunning on the intro?
