Do you two have jobs? Yes! We both have full time careers. Brian is a Software Engineer and Kerry is a Graphic Designer.
Is this vlog a paid promotion with the cruise line? No, we have never worked with a cruise line before (I doubt they even know who we are 😂). If that ever changes, we will be sure to let you know in the video.
What are those black pouches around your neck? We use the lanyards to carry some camera equipment, but many cruisers like to wear lanyards to hold their room key card.
What camera do you use? We typically use the DJI Pocket II, however, when we are in the water we use the Go Pro Hero 9, and in Alaska we occasionally used the Nikon P1000 for wildlife shots. What is a GUSS? GUSS is our name for a Towel Animal! It is a childhood memory for Brian that has lived on for years. You can see the home video moment where GUSS was born in Adventure of the Seas Day 6 (We Made the News) and Allure of the Seas Day 3 (Sea Day).
Is that one thing you said serious? Almost certainly not. If you’re new to the channel, we have really dry, sarcastic senses of humor. So if you’re questioning if it’s sarcasm - it probably is.
How do I ask a dinner time question? Leave a comment on any video and let us know it’s supposed to be answered at dinner time. We’re always looking for new questions (even if the next cruise we can answer it on is a long long way out).
Is it really pronounced CoCo “Key”? Royal Caribbean has said itself that it is pronounced “Key” in a FAQ of their own here: creative.rccl..... To each their own on this pronunciation!
When and how did you meet? We met in February of 2020 via a dating app. We answer this question in more detail in our Independence of the Seas Day 2 (Swimming with Pigs) video.

I love you guys, Brian is the play by play, and Carrie is the color commentary where you never know what she will say. After watching 25 videos I now have a crush on Carrie. I wish I did more cruising when I was young (pre kids)
I was just telling the hubby last night that we should have a new “views and queues” video soon! They seem to come out every 2-3 weeks. And sure enough, here it is this morning! Yay!
In breaking news: a couple has been discovered alive weeks after being stranded alone on a remote deserted island following their cruise ship sinking. Strangely they were only found when an aircraft flying overhead reported seeing a Ben and Jerry’s cow on the island’s beach. At first the pilot thought it was a missed steak, but then saw the two survivors vlogging together on the sand. When interviewed after being rescued, they were asked why they stole the cow as their only survival tool from the ship. Shipwreck survivor Kerry (not related to Jerry) said she always knew the cow was going to be legend-dairy. Brian (not related to Ben) said he thought their chances of being found alive with the cow were medium rare. 😂😂🤣

Nice to hear about a clean bathroom! Having to go to a bathroom at a waterpark or a beach is an experience I dread for the reasons you listed; glad Atlantis is an exception!

When talking about survival and what you should take you actually had one of the best objects in your shot. That was the big umbrella. You could use it for shade to protect from the sun. You can turn it upside down and catch rain for fresh water. It is a big object so will be good to see from the air to aid rescuers that are searching for you. And the pole of the umbrella could be used as tool to dig letters in the sand (again aid in rescue) or defense/attack if needed.

The rat guard thing is pretty important. We've stayed on a houseboat out on Lake Powell in Utah/Arizona and if you don't put one of those on then the boat will definitely get mice :D
Yeah, We actually had rats come on our boat during the night.

The rapids in the tube ride reminds me when we used to go down to the river and get on innertubes.And ride from like Garner state park here in Texas to Concan, 4 and a 1/2 hours on the river in an inner tube.Was so much fun when we were younger at 61 years old i can't do that any more.But still I love lazy rivers at waterparks

Those waves are no joke when on the open sea. I did a pacific coast cruise and we had 30 ft swells from inclement weather, it wasn’t even storming, it was just the north pacific and bcuz of that our port of Astoria in Oregon was cancelled bcuz it was too dangerous to try to get in
Are y’all using external mic packs for the Osmo in those neck pouches? Your audio is excellent given the tech you use (I use an Osmo Pocket 1 for our videos) and our audio is not at your level. 😅

I’ve been swimming with sharks and sting rays. They can bite but if you treat them with respect and know what you’re supposed to do then you’re fine.

Lol they told us it was 35k a night.
We did blue Lagoon and absolutely loved it. There were 2 beach areas, you could see all sorts of animals, the food was included, there were games to play like big Jenga, chess etc.

I’m rewatching this because I want to do this excursion! Did you all bring your own towels? Also, you felt comfortable leavings your items on a lounger unsupervised? Thanks in advance if you see this!
I can’t remember exactly, but I believe we took towels off the ship for this excursion (just remember to bring them back on board or else you will get charged a fee). I also think we tried to find the quietest part of the resort to drop our bags off on a lounger unsupervised, BUT if that feels uncomfortable, I do think they have lockers for rent! Hope this helps!
Would you recommend the Aquaventure excursion if you have kids ages 3-11?
The lazy river at Schliterbahn in New Braunfels, TX has a lift hill!
Fill the Lifeboat with as much food and water as you possibly can and take that. Not only will you have food and water but the Lifeboat will provide you with shelter and shade which is also important if you're stuck on a deserted island. And protection from predators

On Anthem, you could also find the QR code for the Cruise Compass on the TV channel that lists all the onboard entertainment. I didn't notice until the last day, but apparently it was there every day. Not sure if they do that on every ship or not.

Schlitterbahn in new braunfels texas has a lazy river with ramps
There’s an Aquaventure in Dubai (kind of a sister park to this), as well as Siam water park in Tenerife in the Canary Islands, both have lift hills in their lazy rivers.
Actually the whole reason I have been seeking out this information is that I genuinely prefer as much lazy in my lazy river as possible.😂If I could spend most of the day floating round and round the river without getting out of the inner tube except for absolute necessities, that would genuinely be my ideal day.
Yes love the cruise compass but we still got the paper ones on our December cruise. If they truly go green then yeah I would prefer that pdf but I would prefer it in the app with some way to link stuff, save stuff, because in the app you can save the activities to be reminded of it. So the pdf version would need to have a function implemented into the app to still do that. But the way the app has it is okay, but it could better for sure.

I swim from Nassau over to Paradise Island by myself before it was developed and in the bottom of the sea which is about 50 ft down are all kinds of sea snakes. Now I find out where they came to the surface to breathe I had my head down with my scuba mask on so I would never have seen them.

From what I’ve heard, Royal Caribbean ships might be comparable in LENGTH to other ships, like Wish, that are significantly lower in gross tonnage, but they are noticeably WIDER than many other ships (according to Wikipedia,Independence is, in some places, as much as fifteen feet wider than Wish, and is, indeed about eight feet taller, too)

Good question! We want to try them all eventually, but Virgin is probably too much of a party for us so it’s on the bottom of our list
