Glad you approve 😀 It is expensive, there are a few different tip options that are more costs effective. Part of the issue is this has to be shipped from the other side of the world along with covering import duties. It’s not a European made product which sadly adds cost. The upside is it sounds great and a solution to the issue, particularly with later generation non valved cars.
It's a real shame what Mini have done to their exhaust system. The JCW used to sound good from the factory (I think pre OPF?), and that was before you had the option to spec the Pro exhaust! Now they sound so muted. Makes me think what their "new" JCW will sound like with the single pipe this time. I've had a F56 JCW 2020 which was fun to drive, but really lacked on sound. I now have a Clubman JCW which sounds decent, although it could always do with a bit more. I like what you've done to this. It's what it should have been like from the factory!
It is a shame what has happened to exhaust notes in recent years but this is the case with all petrol cars since 2019/2020 when the euro 6 compliance came out. More reason to upgrade the exhaust to something that sounds a bit more exciting! 😀
I need this! But agree with aviatorgreytt saying it's expensive. However, I am following you guys with interest with the various mods you are doing to your LCI2 JCW, I have the same car. I'll be in touch soon, I'm in Wimborne so not far from you. What made you choose lowering springs over adjustable suspension? Or is that coming later bearing in mind the proposed track use. And what was the decision procees on the Ramair cone based air intake over say an Eventuri intake? Cheers
There’s no getting around it is pricey but there is a reason for that. I will say it’s a lovely bit of kit and very well made. Right up there as some of the best available. Adjustable suspension is to come later this year. We are taking this car on a complete journey and will do some reviews/testing as time progresses with the parts. If you’re local, drop in some time. You will see quite a few things on the car not yet shown. Intake wise, stay tuned as another video will drop soon for another version we decided to install 😬
Yes this cat back system removes the OPF’s. With the correct terminator connector there is no need to remap and no error/warning lights come up. If you need anything for your LCI 2, don’t hesitate to ask 😀
@@Carbonwurks thanks is it annoying? Is it because with it closed there’s more pressure going through a single valve or do you know what causes it? Cheers
Is this a gpf/OPF delete for you? Was there a tune done? I’m just trying to get an idea of the LCI2 with a new exhaust but since I am in the us, i don’t need a tune since I don’t have the opf but I know a lot of uk cars get a tune after their exhaust so it’s hard to tell what mine would sound like. Any help would be appreciated
This did remove the GPF yes but it is not tuned as we installed terminator connectors to negate any warnings or errors. So in short, if you installed this on your US model, it should sound exactly the same.
the Post LCI cooper S was such a huge dissapointment. Fitted with that exhaust filter that costs a fortune to fix and no valved exhaust option and it sounds like a depressed vacuum cleaner in the next room to boot. I swapped mine for a 2015 of almost the same mileage, totally same spec but holy moses it feels like a different and much better car despite looking almost identical.
For cars with an OPF/GPF, removing it can fail an MOT if the tester is technically minded to know it should have one there. Our particular car has a sports catted downpipe to keep emissions friendly and is eventually going to become a track only car. In short, removing the OPF/GPF can be an MOT failure at the discretion of the MOT tester. Removing the OPF/GPF in itself won’t fail the physical emission probe test but can on the visual aspect.
This Cat back system removes the opf but doesn’t require any remapping when purchasing a plug in terminator connector. Car remains error and warning free.
It’s probably unlikely as emissions and testing is more strict in Germany. This part doesn’t come with a TUV either sadly (although it is extremely well made).
This exhaust is valved so you can change the level of noise, not just making it louder. Performance can also be achieved through a better flowing system too. It also looks fantastic 😀
I like this a lot. My standard lci2 jcw sounds crap. This exhaust is extremely expensive though. That’s my only gripe.
Glad you approve 😀

i bought a exhaust of a 2016 mini cooper s. works great just cut the resonator out and it sounds perfect.

@Carbonwurks nice one guys, see you soon
Perhaps I missed it but what is the ID of the pipe?
It's made by Fi-Exhaust :)
@@Carbonwurks Can't find that info on their site?
Here's the link to the product - carbonwurks.com/product/mini-f5x-cooper-s-jcw-fi-exhausts-catback-valvetronic-muffler/
@@Carbonwurks Thank you, I like the black diamond tips!
Non exhaust related - What set of wheels is on and does it have any poking?
These are OZ Superleggera’s. Front sits flush, rear has 13mm spacers to sit flush 👍🏻
I am curious about something else. What rims are these? OZ probably, but I can't identify the model?
They’re OZ ultraleggera’s. Great looking wheel 🔥
Has the opf been removed? I've got an lci 2 jcw and I've been thinking to get parts from you guys!

Opf just ruins the car.
Couldn’t agree more!
What happens if you keep the opf but made it empty on the inside, would it pass MOT?
Sadly we wouldn’t want to speculate what an MOT tester may or may not pass.
Where comes the flutter Sound came from?Sounds Amazing!
Ah that will be the air intake this car is running 😀
@@Carbonwurks do you know the brand of the intake? I Need that😍😬
Here you go: carbonwurks.com/product/ramair-proram-mini-f5x-air-intake-kit/
What admission does it have? Eventuri? Thanks!! Nice sound!!
That’s the exhaust in closed mode, it gives an induction type noise 😀
Hi guys what’s the wooooosh / air sound that can be heard when the exhaust is closed? Can it be heard inside too
That is the exhaust itself. It’s a dual note/tone exhaust so with the valves closed it gives an induction noise and yes, can be heard inside.
@@Carbonwurks thanks is it annoying? Is it because with it closed there’s more pressure going through a single valve or do you know what causes it? Cheers

@@Carbonwurks can u please give more details regarding the opf terminator connector 😊.
Available from our website. It stops any engine warning lights when removing the OPF. No need for any remapping 😀👍🏻
@@Carbonwurks got it . Will order thankyou
Does this work for an F60 countryman JCW?
There's likely to be an option for your car. If you send us your vehicle details then we can check for you - carbonwurks.com/contact/

Lci cars with the GPF installed do sound weak. This system works well and is now valved so best of both worlds 😀
So what would the MOT status be on this?
For cars with an OPF/GPF, removing it can fail an MOT if the tester is technically minded to know it should have one there.
Our particular car has a sports catted downpipe to keep emissions friendly and is eventually going to become a track only car.

Is this with the OPF or have you removed it?
This Cat back system removes the opf but doesn’t require any remapping when purchasing a plug in terminator connector. Car remains error and warning free.
IMO the Remus axle back centered exhaust sounds better.
Not heard the Remus version in the flesh. They do produce good systems however.
Since this removes the OPF, I reckon it is not going to be legal in Germany?
It’s probably unlikely as emissions and testing is more strict in Germany. This part doesn’t come with a TUV either sadly (although it is extremely well made).
Great content. The car is BR Green...right? The inconsistent lighting makes it look Black at times, looks like a different car!
Appreciate the comment. It’s actually rebel green, slightly dark and as you say, looks black in some lights.
Sounds better with the valve closed
Certainly sounds good with the valves closed too!
Aside from sound, what is the benefit of this very expensive exhaust?
This exhaust is valved so you can change the level of noise, not just making it louder. Performance can also be achieved through a better flowing system too. It also looks fantastic 😀
Yep, looks fantastic. Once installed who'll see it? Not trying to be difficult. I have a 2024 model identical to yours.@wurks
@robrudorf6587 the tips you’ll always see 😀
How much is the exhaust do you do one for cooper s f56
We do have options on our website but the best thing you can do is drop us an email with your car details and we can let you know costings.
Sounds better stock no joke lol upgraded to a fart noise haha😂😂
Sure 😉
Sounds great - has this set any lights off on the dash?
None at all. Now covered several thousand miles without an issue.
👌
😀🔥
Quite dramatic when you are off for a pint of milk at the shops!
Good neighbour mode it’s not! 😂😂😂
Fortunately with the valves closed it can be shut up. Sounds perfect with the valves open for those spirited drives 😀
Illegal leider
Nope, it’s legal and has been tested/approved 👍🏻
