I sold an EP3 Type R for one of these and it was the biggest regret of my motoring life, they look good, have a nice interior and handle well. But they are underpowered, extremely expensive/difficult to get more power out of and the engine sounds awful when thrashed. The insurance costs and fuel economy are DIRE for the performance you get, I couldn’t wait to get rid of mine.
Fair comment they're low on power compared to the rest of their class at the time but how are they expensive? Tax is cheaper than an EP3, fuel is fine if you drive it normally (I can easily get 30mpg+ just daily and close to 40 on a longer motorway run), parts are cheap, the cars are cheap to buy in the first place and insurance for me (23 with 5yrs NCB) is the same as an EP3. Yes they're poor to tune and yes they're not the quickest, but a few suspension mods will have you keeping up with EP3s on twisty roads with ease, despite the power difference.

Is the Mazda 6 or Mazda 3 SP25 with the L5-VE 2.5 not available in the UK? They are as cheap as chook nuts in Oz since Mazda sells so well here. No Fusions/Mondeo's with the 2.5 though, so the Mazda swap needs a Ford Timing Cover, and Ford Crank Pulley to match the belt and timing wheel, and if you are retaining the old Dipstick style, the 2.0 sump and cam cover might need to swap. But otherwise it's close to a direct swap - if you keep in mind the 14mm difference in block deck height between the 1.8/2.0 and the 2.3/2.5. The ST150 even has the intake CAM VCT so can drive the same on the L5-VE.
Just sold my decently modified 1.6 zetec s and that has 50bhp less than an stock st150, and it was a FUN first car. now times time to upgrade to the1.8t 225bhp cars

The gearbox will shit itself ,you'll have to uprate everything to get 200 bhp from 1.6 tdci it's no good just chucking bigger turbo on,what about stopping or going round corners ,how much did the Facebook guy spend to get 260 ? Surely better to get bigger engined diesel tweek it ,less strain in drivetrain etc if you get 200 from 1.6 let me know what's involved 👌

Had it for 9 months looking to part ex possibly tomorrow it has 80k miles It is terrible on fuel.i reset the mpg readout and drove around town for the week tops of 30mph and got a solid 19 mpg lol. On a12 doing 60 I can get around 40mpg I think at 70mph it was around 36. It very small inside,no good stash trays for keeping some coins etc also one shit cup holder. Cosworth inlet is one of the worst things to do on these cars. Cams are a great additon but the Cosworth inlet kills the low and mid range torque, the noise the inlet produces is a massive placebo to how fast the car's actually going.
@@TheeEttles Yes they are really great for boost but it irks me when I see people fit them to N/A engines because apart from willy waving and saying you made 200bhp onthe rollers, they are worse to drive. I’ve gotta say I think the Zetec S is better for the young driver market. It looks exactly the same as an st just 50 less hp (stock) and better on fuel, tax, insurance stuff like that. I’m a little biased because that’s what i have 😂 By all means if you can afford an ST, go for it!
TDCi even better IMO, mapped it's 120bhp and even when ragged returns amazing MPG plus only £30 year to tax. But then again, I'm biased because I own one lol.

The standard redline cutout is 7200, was this one forged? ;)
What spoiler is it! I love IT
I have an 06 st150 with a kn induction kit.
Had it for 9 months looking to part ex possibly tomorrow it has 80k miles
It is terrible on fuel.i reset the mpg readout and drove around town for the week tops of 30mph and got a solid 19 mpg lol.
On a12 doing 60 I can get around 40mpg I think at 70mph it was around 36.
It very small inside,no good stash trays for keeping some coins etc also one shit cup holder.
Really needs a 6th gear
I traded a ep2 with buddy club exhaust cat back and 17in team dynamics motorsport wheels for the st and to this day regret it.
Ps can u find some st220 🤔 rly want to hear ur opinion about them. Cant decide what to do...keep my focus mk1 ...get bmw e38. Save money more 3 years to get st220.
Cosworth inlet is one of the worst things to do on these cars. Cams are a great additon but the Cosworth inlet kills the low and mid range torque, the noise the inlet produces is a massive placebo to how fast the car's actually going.
Shaun Cross it’s only to support the supercharger that will be going in
@@TheeEttles Yes they are really great for boost but it irks me when I see people fit them to N/A engines because apart from willy waving and saying you made 200bhp onthe rollers, they are worse to drive.
When are you planning on supercharging yours? I had my mk6 ST for over 5yrs and loved every minute of it but engine troubles meant I stripped it and moved on, still miss it :(
Shaun Cross well that’s personal opinion 🤷🏻♂️ I love how this car drives
I’ve gotta say I think the Zetec S is better for the young driver market. It looks exactly the same as an st just 50 less hp (stock) and better on fuel, tax, insurance stuff like that. I’m a little biased because that’s what i have 😂 By all means if you can afford an ST, go for it!
TDCi even better IMO, mapped it's 120bhp and even when ragged returns amazing MPG plus only £30 year to tax. But then again, I'm biased because I own one lol.
Jonathan Bennigsen Haha 100% agree
Just to be picky, they’re not ‘exactly’ the same. ST has side skirts, a rear diffuser with exhaust cut out & 17” wheels, as you probably already know 🤷♂️
@@AdxmTS Yes I know, they also have colour-coded bump strips etc as well as different interior door handles, aluminium pedals and a different gear knob and steering wheel. But they are very similar, especially after a few mods etc.
Jonathan Bennigsen didn’t know about the handles or the gear knob that’s pretty cool, but you also missed out the seats lol
How abou
fuel consumption? I miss this in video ?
I had a 1.6 mark six great fun but the cabin is so small you keep bumping elbows with your passenger😂
Nice little ST that 👍
Zakspeed TV thanks!
Split the headlight and paint black or get devil eyes and this car would look so sick
Ash Visuals that’s in the works
All he kept saying was ‘yeah’ 😂😂
RIP NOOB 93 Free Tv most of what I said was cut out 😂🙈
@@TheeEttles i was thinking that, nice car bro shes mint, nicest one iv seen so far. Keep up the good work bro
@@TheeEttles seen you at fast show 2019 we was talking about my blue fiesta st that was on stand. Would be good to meet up and chat again as i have a few questions i wanna ask about ya car and compare

m Russell ah yeah, get me on insta mate always on that @ettlesa, if you are near Andover/Portsmouth area I’m always about 😎
I need the deets of place you got that spoiler from mate
How’d you get the dash to light up blue? I can’t find anywhere online a guide or a lot for the ST150
Sacred was done by a guy I know £45
Take a shot every time he says "naturally aspirated".
can someone please let me know where u can get a spoiler like that for my mk6
I have a tdci fiesta mk6 in what seems to be the same colour if that’s ocean blue
HEXD J41D3N performance blue 🤙🏻
Why didn’t you review the interior?
The reason these are cheaper than a zetec s is because theyre insurable, and by the time you can get them, you can drive much better ones.
Where can I get that spoiler? I like that
Where did you get that spoiler from
I’m looking to get a 1.2 liter one of these for me first car in Ireland but pretty sure the insurance is gonna be fucking mental
Go for a 1.6 zetec s mate
I love the car!!! Looks so awesome IMO especially with that RS style wing.. The Mk7 is expensive to modify too, especially here in Australia because anything that makes more power is heavily overpriced and i mean HEAVILY.... All by design of course... fkn governments.
Hey guys I have a question: my boyfriend of 3 years has a Ford Fiesta ST MK6 2008 I think. I really want to buy him some tuning stuff as a present. We always talk about cars and he is also a car mechanic, but I don’t really know what I could buy for him to tune his car 😂 Have some of you a few suggestions ? 🙈
Exhaust
Intake
60mm throttle body
Sports cat or decat
Lowering springs or coilovers
Exterior bulbs
Interior bulbs
Alloys
The list could go on but it’s xmas this Friday
@@boostedchris6120 Hey thank you for all your suggestions! Btw: it was planned as a birthday present, not Christmas gift :) So I still have time :))
@@serak6302 Honestly no problem at all pal, fair enough then longs you’ll be happy with it that’s the main thing tbh and yeah don’t rush into it just take you’re time! Have a great day
nearly as quick as my moped
LOL they are slow as shit bruv, i even beat one of these in an old 206 GTI and they are not exactly fast, though i did have the 180bhp version, anyway my advice to youngsters here would be get a proper car like an Evo or Impreza , dont buy cheap as you will end up buying twice
@@christineayres5339 Exactly. For the money mayaswel buy a saxo/pug or cheap evo if you can find one
@@Keyboardbeatz Yeah old used to own a Saxo VTS rapid cars they are bruv, but for me I'd buy an old Civic type R , love those cars fast reliable and still look great today
@@christineayres5339 I kept up with one in a 1.6 Tdi Leon Mapped to 150bhp 340nm torque I expected it to lose me 😂
@@F0rdy57 hence 'if you can find one' duh
Guys what performance increase would I see from a stock st150? Say 0-100mph? I have an st500 and I don’t think I’ll ever sell it. Could anyone tell me performance increases for say £1000, £2000, £3000, £4000, £5000? I would be prepared to put a stupid amount of money into it just for the lols.
Put this post in one of the mk6 fiesta Facebook groups mate
Someone's got to have a k10 or 11 micra they look sick done up ill have to get a 1l swap it for 1.3 I'm not a driver so is it up to a 1.6 or something
These should of had more than 150bhp from factory, the Williams Clio had 147bhp and that was over 10 years older when the st150 came out. These should of had the st170 vvt engine with a 6 speed box.
What about review of vauxhall corsa c?....
😄🤣🤣
Why would anyone review one of them scrappers? And why would a 49 year old man be asking about one? They’re shit cars that kids used to drive. Now kids don’t even like them.
@@cwuzii what about a nova?
I’ve just bought a 2006 complete original yesterday in red. Wasn’t even a mark on the car or the interior looked brand new and was a stock show car
Jamie back into fords..
And older cars have more quality.i velieve that after 20 years all 2000s cars will have high prices. Trust me..
wish it was still 45 brick to fill my fezza
