Ah yes. Good old Uruk-hai banner bearer. You started the hobby 5 minutes ago and you just know you must make one. Even one of old metal scuplts looks similiar. Cape for Gondor Captain is also nice. Back when I converted mine, captains looked just like regular warrior with more heroic pose. I sacrificed Aragorn from Helm's Deep for his head (back then everyone had like 5 of them, thanks DeaGostini) for bare head captain.
That is a good tip, because they are so expensive! Luckily, I got a bunch from a friend, but I've seen people making crossbows from paperclips and glueing them to the Uruk's back.
@@RabtasticPaints a must with any army, archer's or crossbows 👌 i managed to pick some up on Ebay last year with the crossbow arms missing and without taking out a second mortgage! A bit of kit bashing and jobs a good un 👍
Theres loads of simple conversions ive learned over the years. A classic is turning a goblin bowman into a captain. Another (harder and more pricey one) is heroes of west aragorn into a ranger captain. The conversion sprue with battle games in middle earth was pretty useful.

I'm just not a fan of the official MT Captain
@@RabtasticPaints The one with stars on his breastplate? He's such captain america
Sweet and simple for the win
Gotta keep it simple, cos I am simple 😂

great tips! A good one I saw is Uruk crossbowmen, take siege Uruks and give them a crossbow bit in the open hand.

I did exactly that, Victrix or fireforge did crossbows on a sprue for 28mm minis, perfect 👌
@@LTR63Ir you can always use more Uruk crossbows

Ah yes the famous Uruk David Bannerman.
These a good options to see made simple to follow.
Thank you mate! That was my goal and glad it came together
That intro took me back 😀 and great conversations! 👌🏻
Thank you mate! I promised myself I would play the game AFTER I finished this video 😂
This is a really good video. Take my like good sir, I'll certainly be using at least the minas tirith conversion.
Thank you! I hope it saves you some money.
awesome video. I'd never thought of using duck tape for a banner.
Thank you! I've seen masking tape used as a cloak and though this could work too.

Some good options there!
I've recently converted some Isengard Scouts into Mordor Uruk-Hai with a simple paint job 😂
@@RabtasticPaints Yeah i get that. A simple paint scheme change really can transform minis. Plus better money value and more weapon options.
Nice tricks❤ mate
Thank you man! Glad you enjoyed it.
Great video, thankyou for all the tips. I need to ask though, what video game were you playing in the begining? Any excuse to dwarf it up lol 😂
Oh, it's Return to Moria! Thank you, I'm glad it helped!
Love it
Glad you enjoyed it, mate!
very useful

Nice video :)

You should have definitely used Spiderman. Maybe that's why he was promoted to Captain.
Surely that's worth a promotion 😂 I'll have to find a use for him.
