can’t believe you lied about being stuck in a vox pedal. my faith is destroyed
Bein stuck in a vox pedal would be ridiculous.
😂👍
*HEY*
*YOU KNOW WHO MADE THIS VIDEO?*
*A PHONY*
*A GREAT BIG PHONY*
using that vox pedal to reflect your face instead of editing in a face cam is so freaking smart. heavenly tone too. thanks steve.
It was a happy accident 😂
This is great, you might have just sold me on buying that Iridium pedal. Sounds amazing.
Trevor Wong KISS KISS KISS KISS KISS KISS
oh
Now I can steal that sweet sweet emo tone (laughs in midwestern)
Might be a dumb question, but all of this is (indirectly) plugged into the computer, with sound output through studio monitors or something similar, right? I was confused how you could get a tone at all with the strymon off, but i'm a novice at all this
Yeah it’s plugged straight into his computer through an interface from the last few versions he’s shown is it
I want one of those Vox pedals with moving pictures of Steve from Mountains on it
🗻🥰
Hey bud, you are a legend. Thanks for all the tuition you've thrown to us, it's not in vain.
Its okay to be stuck. Look at all the stepmoms who got stuck. Stuck on a sink, washing machine, cleaning a chair, feeding a pet.
Does UK have a midwest too? Or are you really from Missouri?
Midwest emo is a genre, don't need to be in the Midwest of the states to play it ! also, steve lives in South Korea :)
If I understand it correctly the sound is going all the to your computer and then you just sync it with the video? There is no physical amp right
That is correct, though I am hearing it directly too through my headphones 👍
The intro made me laugh out loud. Thank you
But where is the Warden?
You get trapped in a pedal if you play "never meant" too much
The first 10 seconds of this video got me laughing so hard. The delivery is perfection
😂
Whatever happened to the EQD Arrows from one of your previous tone videos?
I had no need for it with this setup 👍
Your pedal board has come a long way
Also think about the boss wazacraft chorus pedal the blue one it’s incredible
Yeah! I'd love to get one of those 😀
You could say it has become much smaller^^
what were you playing throughout this video 👁
Awesome!! I really dig the tone and had been wondering how ya got it
Quite surprised you're not using a compressor pedal
I'll have another one soon no doubt! Haha
@@LetsTalkAboutMathRock Modest as ever! I mean because you're tapping so well without one. Maybe the Vox pedal is giving you just enough compression to get by?
@@binface9 yeah, sounds that way, right? Getting natural compression by pushing the amp.
Thanks so much for this Steve!! I've got a strat and I'm also trying to record direct in but I've been struggling to get that clean twinkly overdrive tone. Do you know if amp simulator plugins need a seperate cab simulator to bring out the brights/ do you recommend any overdrive VSTs as an alt to the nux?
There's so many ways you could approach this that it's hard to say. If you were looking to use some amp modeling software, I recommend the free version of amplitube. It comes with a nice clean fender style amp sim. There are a number of problems you'll run into if you haven't got decent gear though. Latency will ruin the whole experience of playing. You may end up spending a lot on a decent pc and interface to combat this so it may be better to look at the way I do it. Having an amp sim pedal before the interface and use the direct monitoring from the interface give practically zero latency. The Iridium isn't cheap so you could look at some other options first but in all honesty they aint going to sound as good as the highend stuff.
If you could fill me in with your setup/possible options I think I may be able to give you better suggestions and advice 👍
@@LetsTalkAboutMathRock Omg thanks so much for your response :) ! I'm running my strat through my boss ME-70 multi effects pedal (only using the reverb), then direct in to my focusrite interface, then in my DAW I'm running a clean fender amp sim and an Boss SD-1 overdrive sim. Its clean except for when I record chord progressions with the overdrive - no matter how low i turn it it sounds super small & muffled/muddy sounding. I tried removing my Boss ME-70 from between my guitar and interface and got similar result, just spent hours trying to get a clear and bright recording with the overdrive. Thanks so much for your help again/ any advice you can offer :) you're amazing!
