By far, the most honest and real world review on this beautiful rifle I've seen. Much of what you've said about owning a new air rifle resonates with my own views. I'm looking to add this rifle to my collection. Taking your magazine apart is easy. All you should need is a 1.2 mm hex wrench, if my memory serves me correctly. You should also consider buying the new magazine Daystate has put out if it fits the Huntsman. Great video, thank you!
I’m only at 3:44 and I don’t normally comment before the end of a video but I’m thinking to myself, ‘if this was a £300 gun, we’d call it junk for its cocking and cycling issues. For me, then, does this make this expensive junk?’ Is Daystate the Jaguar of the air gun world? I’ve owned quite a few of them and they’re not worth the hassle. Edit will go here 😂 🔜 Nice and honest review, my friend. I’m in the market for a new pcp and was considering a Huntsman. For me, to spend best part of £1k only to expect issues, puts me off. Same goes for the leaky Weihrauch’s. At the moment my money is still on an AA S400. Thanks for posting. Take care. 👍👍
I think your Jaguar analogy is perfect! Despite everything I love my Huntsman and am glad I own it. My R10 is a better rifle due to the reg and tuning work done by Ratworks however for pure simplicity and accuracy I have been blown away by the S400. I have tested 3 now for Leicestershire Airguns and they have all performed pretty much the same. Over the years I have seen a few that have been on the low side of power though, so make sure they have been over a chronograph before spending your cash or buy one of the ones I have tested!
@@gardenguns Thanks for your response, buddy. 👍 A Ratworks R10 must be a dream. 👍 And thank you for the point on possible low power on the S400. I have my own chronograph so if (probably) and when I get one, I’ll take that tip and test regularly. And I’ll have the shop test it first. Keep ‘em coming. 👍
Excellent stuff , fantastic review , my son just bought the HR version and loves it to bits , but your right about the magazines , had to take my Bantam HR mag back twice ( under warranty ) for repair , eventually they gave me a new one .. bought a spare since , which has been ok .. cant beat a weihrauch magazine , faultless and simple .. .. can't wait for the NP02 show down .. should be good , liking your vids ..
This is funny you doing this video mate, i purchased one of these a few days ago, second hand, cost £650, not a mark on it been very well looked after, i cleaned the barrel, wasnt bad to be honest, took it out zeroed at 30 yds, and a five pence piece buried the hole a full mag made, well happy with it mate, looking forward to your next video Cheers
So for the UK Legal 12ft/lb I am happy to shoot out to 50m providing I can range what I am shooting at precisely. My rifle prefers JSB Exacts in 4.53. Not all barrels are the same so yours might like a different size or brand of pellet. Hope this helps
I have always had problems with flyers from my Daycock Compattos, amongst other problems. I have an Edgun Matador now, and I will never buy anything form Daycock again.

Thanks Mark. Hope I get the next video up a lot quicker than this one!

Cheers Casper. Great rifle sounds, like you got a good deal!
Great to see another video matey. If it's any help - i had exactly the same problem cocking and it's a simple fix with a basic trigger adjustment 👍
Thanks mate. I will have a look into that.
Great video. What rest is that you are using at the front? Thank you!
Thanks David. I’ll have a look when I get back home.
@@gardenguns that would be great, thank you
Vanguard Porta AIM Gun Rest. Bought from optics warehouse uk
@@gardenguns that's great, thank you 👍
Good night, what is the useful range of the carbine? Which lead do you get the best accuracy results from?
So for the UK Legal 12ft/lb I am happy to shoot out to 50m providing I can range what I am shooting at precisely. My rifle prefers JSB Exacts in 4.53. Not all barrels are the same so yours might like a different size or brand of pellet. Hope this helps
@@gardenguns Did you test Pointed pellets ? My air gun likes this jsb, it's a Lot of precison....
My Huntsman doesn’t like pointed pellets much!
@@gardengunsAbout the velocity, what's the better to 18,13 jsb pellets?
Because of the uk 12 ft/lb 16 joule limit, in .177 / 4.5mm I use 8.33 grain JSB Exacts
Another good video mate but doesn't the Ratworks S200 beat them all 🤣🤣👍
🤣 The Ratworks S200 is a demon! However the Ratworks R10 is a beast!
Still loving my huntsman regal HR

I think the Compatto mag borrows quite heavily from the Daystate one.
@@gardenguns they certainly do, on fact they are more complicated.
Well that’s not good! Complicated is very rarely better!. BSA have nailed it imho
