- Not really sure this is that great of a watch, HoP in general is just a lot of talking behind a desk managing money. But this still gives perspective of the role.

I was HOP on multiple shifts. I paid my people hourly and well. I had also saved so much money that I was able to embezzle money (20k per hour) without anyone really noticing until the end of the last shift where I decided "fuck it" and took all the money. The other time I encountered a shitsec HOP that 1 didn't pay their employees at all compared to me and also threatened to put a bounty on me for asking for armory access to my own ship and dragged me out of bridge for touching the comms console to anounce that I would be putting a 10k bounty for each member of the pirate crew (out of my own pocket).
I woulda put bounties but I wasn't sure how to balance everything. I spent a majority of my shift undoing the damage from people who got banned
@@Liltenhead the bounties I would suggest 15 or 20k for a single person but if it's a larger crew I would say 10k per person
Hop is a pretty chill job until you go bankrupt
For some reason I got banned from frontier station, the ban reason is bye
I was not online when this happened, I dont know what is going on

You're videos inspired me to get Space Station 14, and lemme explain one of my first experiences:
I joined as a medical Intern, I started smoking immediately, found a 'secret' bar in the vents/maint so I found a beer bottle and started to get drunk, went around in med asking if anyone wanted a drink (no one wanted a drink :c ), got stuck between 2 vending machines, got stripped by a clown while my co worker tried to get me help from chem, after I was free I confronted the clown that was apparently religious and claimed god told them to do it since I was a "doctor" and smoking, so I argued with them (not serious at all, pretty damn funny really) for like 30 minutes, I became peacful with the clown and went back to work, eventually died to radiation from a body that was investigating an anomaly in the vents/maint (same place I got my booze) because he had like 1k rads on him and I tried to drag him to med.
10/10 would argue with a clown about god and the devil again.
I was there for that shift, I died from that guy as well😂. I spent all shift as an assistant claiming to be a wizard.
Frontier is hands down the best thing that happened to SS13 in years
Wish there were more ways of getting the station in order (robust secies from the start, some way of stable station income (docking fees? Selling tax?), and more ways to prevent/punish bad behavior (stealind and damaging station property), like zoning the station to public and service areas, especially cargo.
I'd like a sales tax. It doesn't feel very rewarding running the station when people are making 300k plus on their own

getting a meat anomaly to spawn on my shuttle and losing my entire shuttle to it pretty fun tbh
I was here for that shift, (Flux Soliton). Sorry I wasn't much of a help when it came to trying to patch up Atmos. What surprised me was just how long the round went for afterwards! I came back like two hours later and things were still going.

Jester had a blast, didn't even know you were HoP. Jester sees people who need kind words and hugs and gives them for cheap price but for HoP it free.

I want to personally strangle whoever keeps stealing those vendors, but 47k was good lol. I think our barge totaled 250k which got split.
I had ended up hopping on to this round towards the end of it and damn was it a mess. I loved every second of it lol
that is very nice of those guys to get ur back at the end, when you said you had no idea what you were doing and you thought you were doing a bad job.

I was the engi that got put in perma by HoS, spent most of the round there, I kept asking for help on radio but nothing, in the end I decided to roleplay and pass the time a bit, Rev came too almost spaced me, admins then contacted me, idk what happened to HoS next but I hope they weren’t banned, tho ye was crazy lol, I was the one that reconnected waste and fixed the cell of sec, but then got jailed and couldn’t keep fixing stuff lol. Btw idk if is a bug but we can’t place lattice or tiles on the outpost

Can't wait to try this later. I only really play on nyano code so it's cool to see you interacting with it. (Also on most servers you can turn off the mail machine if it becomes too much)

I met god on Frontier. Honkmother was a banananium statue of a clown holding a crowbar. It had the power of materializing anything into existence and could cause mass destruction. It also communicated via fax. It was amazing.

Did the frontier outpost's security happen to uh 'blow up'? Because that was me but I didn't get banned because admin deemed it was a accident, and it was since I was trying to kill a tick, with a gun, and it hit the fuel tanks, gosh damn that thing is fukkin' FAST

hops pretty fun, i got hop once when i tried to just get a job as a maillady and the hop was ssding at the time so they chose me to be the new hop, ended up paying a chef 55 thousand during the shift cause they were selling whole pizzas for only 50 dollars and at that point i just decided their little food shuttle was doing enough for the station to warrant high pay (the free pizza they gave me as a gift may have played a factor in that decision) and at the end i just pulled out stacks of thousands and chucked them in front of hops office for everyone like bread crumbs to a flock of birds in the park (after paying myself a pretty penny of course)
You know, if Robust Toolbox had the strength of fuckin' will to do it, Frontier Station shows me that the gameplay can be mixed up just a little bit. But I want to go further. I want Dwarf Fortress 14. Dwarf Fortress 13 is an aesthetic that suits the engine and graphical capabilities of SS13 well, as such, an SS14 version of the same server may also do quite well. Perhaps even a little better, if fluid dynamics and Z-Levels could be further refined to allow for very simple control of things such as the flow of streams and rivers.
I'll have to invest time in figuring this out for myself.

The discord is available on the hub, like if you just click on the server in the server browser there's a discord button.

Yo it feels weird getting recommended videos i'm in. I was johnny newbie, that engi walking into the... situation...
IMO frontier station needs to get some stuff worked through before its gonna be fun to play, especially if you don't captain your own ship. I know the server is based around space and ships, but if you dont make playing as AND with crew fun, the server will end up as good as its novelty.
Also for the love of god they need to get better on-boarding, you should NOT have to ask the owner directly how to do your job as HOP, and everyone else should know how this server differs from "standard" ss14.

Just saying for new people that the server runs on nyano code (delta V server code) so there’s fuck tons of mail and cool ships

I tried out frontier station, and I gotta say, I fucking desise it lol. I feel like it just encourages the worst behavior in people.
It seems like a pain to moderate.
Nowadays it seems different.
