This was buckets of fun; Ryan has the temperament of a Golden Retriever, he just can't help but show his emotions on his face, body, and everything in between which made the video even more enjoyable. I wouldn't mind getting a part 2 of this, or maybe another run of Betrayal; that game is endlessly replayable.
That's why I like Ryan. He wears his heart on his sleeve and you get the impression that he's a genuinely good guy, who might be a big over-enthusiastic at times, but it all comes from a place of love.
28:51 - A sign you'd want James with you as he's always aware of what everyone's up to. Board as Hell might be my favourite series across all of RUclips, more excellent work.
@@Bjhorn279 Credit to whoever does them, they are very nice. It's like the John Holland music touch that I can spot in some videos. I can just feel his style now, it's great.
This might be my new favorite board as hell episode - I thought nothing could beat AS THE CARDS DICTATE and "Secret Hitler", but some of the interactions here really take the cake. I rarely laugh out loud in real life over a video, but this made me do so twice (Thanks Ryan!) Also, editing excellent as usual on these.
That was AMAZING! I'm running this game for my guild this weekend, and I've watched no less than SIX play throughs, and this was hands down the most entertaining! Ryan played brilliantly after he was discovered, and didn't give up until he was torched. I never expected Jacob whatsoever so he too was a brilliant thing! I loved the fact that a husky-like dog was wandering under the table, just like in the movie!!! James had an outstanding grasp of the rules which is a huge factor in rapid, engaging play. What an excellent game group, and it looked like everyone was having great fun. Ten stars and thanks for posting!!!
I called it being Jacob early on. He always had a sneaky smile on his face whenever things went wrong, and every time he was captain, and they were making their cases to him, you could clearly see him enjoying the power he had knowing that they were desperately pleading to the Thing. Also, very rarely does he actually do any problem solving or contribute to the investigation of who the Thing is. He just keeps quiet and agrees with other people's choices. I was suspicious of Patrick because he was silent for most of the game, but it was Jacob I was certain of.
The THING was such an excellent horror flick that the almost copy/paste modern 're-shoot' of the THING was also wonderful to watch and now I want to play the board game
Dan is so aggressive in these games and he always ends up drawing more suspicion than he casts on others. I really enjoyed this one. And I absolutely did not expect that finish. 👍
I always enjoy watching the Funhaus gang play these types of “trust” board games. They’re so chaotic and funny! I received my pledge for The Thing board game a few days ago and I’ll be playing it with my friends for the first time this evening, so this video was perfectly timed… until I realized that it’s a DIFFERENT board game! I was confused because the board and the cards are remarkably similar, but the Outpost 31 version doesn’t have dogs. I hope Funhaus will play the new The Thing board game sometime in the future.
Not even 5 seconds in and we see the *ONE* Member of Funhaus w/ the most memes about them being a Grotesque Spider-Like Creature w/ Many Eyes is in the Video. Can't trust Lindsay, no matter what.
Imagine Ryan being in the movie and his character truly believes he was infected but he really wasn't and he just "transforms" himself by being naked and covers himself with jelly and just screams, jumps and attacks other team members.
Having a clear and entertaining rivalry elevates an already enjoyable series into godhood. Hope for more. Also, Dan is right, there are no better horror movies.
Not sure who was editing this one, but there seemed to be a lot of important things that wound up on the cutting room floor. One of the most glaring examples is around 46:45 where James gets to look at two cards but the audience never finds out the options (if they were revealed) or what the mission he chose is. I get that it's a long video but it makes it harder to track an already complicated game. Love the energy, though, and love y'all!
I wonder if any of them realized later the flame thrower let’s you torch TWO players. Meaning they had the opportunity to get rid of another one at the table if needed
I think I played this once with 4 to 5 players. Another game was released around the same time, so I am unsure. Whichever I played, one of the infected was holding the flamethrower and rope. It became obvious that this player and another player were infected because everyone figured out that there was nothing the human players could do to win at this point. A really anticlimactic ending to the game as the human players just went through the motion while the infected were almost laughed at how easy it was to win.
Ryan's barely concealed "yes" after Mando's re-roll was the goddamn greatest. Gotta love Ryan embracing his situation here.
Made me laugh so hard too! Also when he choses the team and goes into a fit of power rage was hillarious.
Him choosing the team the second time was great, just going full Thing crazy
28:56
"I put in a flashlight!"
Reveals cards to see a knife, Petrie dish and an axe lmao 🤣
"there's things about me-" "THERE'S THINGS ABOUT YOU?!?!?!?!?" 😂 absolutely top tier episode
Thanks for playing The Thing: Infection at Outpost 31! 💙 - Don't. Trust. Anyone! 🥶
Hard to argue with Dan’s assessment. The THING is both an incredible film AND extremely terrifying from almost start to finish
I love that you guys include pictures of the cards in the edits, really makes it easier to understand whats going on and why

@@Hexen_Wulf I agree. If the same behaviour was exuded by someone I didn't know, I'd be wary but in Ryan's case, he's just happy to be involved.
@@aegresen you know Ryan?
@@ThiefJack Not personally, no. I think I worded it oddly, my bad.
I wonder how long before someone draws an alien like the one oh the white board but with Patrick's head and doing the "lookin ain't a crime" pose
Not long now that this is the top comment haha
2 and a half hours
It probably wasn’t intentional, but the dog running around the set was a flavor win
28:51 - A sign you'd want James with you as he's always aware of what everyone's up to. Board as Hell might be my favourite series across all of RUclips, more excellent work.
This is definitely one of my top favourite episodes of the Board Game Show now.
“Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, c’mon”
Top funhaus moment of the year
ryan pumping his fist and james' response is one of the my all time favourite funhaus moments
I imagine the Thing assimilating Ryan and after a moment's pause, just saying: "Well, sh!t."
Armando: Okay, let me just state my case: Come on...
The rest collectively: Yup, fine with me, torch him!
57:24 Pure gold🤣
James laughing and going 'oh you bastards' while reading the cards is such a perfect encapsulation of how these games go
Maybe the Thing was the friends we made along the way
Ryan did a really good job of not letting on that he was a Thing 🤣
Armandos argument for Ryan getting torched is the best part of this, love to see it.
This episode was pure gold gave me the giggles a lot, really want to try this game it looked fun and chaotic!
These Board As Hell videos are way too good. I put off my own things for today so I can watch this and do the things later
Bless Ryan, even if he was a monster. He's our monster
Ryan lookin like he has no clue where he is 😍😍😍 Himbo King
Ryan telegraphs his intentions more often than a mid-1800s train station clerk.
Ryan is the perfect villain of this game! Made everything interesting to watch and gave so much drama and chaos
Props on the drawing on the whiteboard. Whoever drew that is suuuper talented. Also this game is hella fun.
I love whoever does the drawings on the whiteboard, very cool and creative.
Yeah I’ve been trying to figure out who does it. I think I heard it was Mando
@@Bjhorn279 Credit to whoever does them, they are very nice. It's like the John Holland music touch that I can spot in some videos. I can just feel his style now, it's great.
This season has had some really fun episodes with great games, and I also keep getting captivated by the excellent whiteboard doodles

Armando’s shameless “lookin’ ain’t a crime” really got me tickled
What time was that at?
I think Lindsay want that gun guys... lmao. The pure chaos on this videos
Nails on a chalk board! God damn that was annoying as hell!

Not even 20 minutes in and James is running the table. Dan and Mando are like... wait a second!?
I like to think that the real Thing were the friends we ate along the way
I love how absolutely tickled Dan is at Ryan's reaction when James rolls the 4 sixes.
"THINGS AbOuT YoU!?!?!?!?!?" 😆 🤣 😂

This video is an absolute masterpiece, y'all. Thanks for so many laughs and such a fun story
The THING was such an excellent horror flick that the almost copy/paste modern 're-shoot' of the THING was also wonderful to watch and now I want to play the board game
It can be, but as you saw with Rayn getting called out early. You end up sitting on the side the whole time.
Dan is so aggressive in these games and he always ends up drawing more suspicion than he casts on others.
I really enjoyed this one. And I absolutely did not expect that finish. 👍
This was great. They forgot there was someone suspicious between jacob and james, there was some sabotage that wasn't with a red card on a round.
This intro still gets me, this whole series has kept me going for the last year and I would love more Board Games from Funhaus.
I always enjoy watching the Funhaus gang play these types of “trust” board games. They’re so chaotic and funny!

I think Dan is the final form Jacob inspires to be
Gotta say, this turned out to be exactly how it was meant to be. Chaotic and Ryan being Ryan.

MY HEART HAS NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY. I BOUGHT THIS AT CHR£STMAS AND HAVE BEEN HOPING FOR YOU GUYS TO PLAY IT!!!!
James constantly stroking his arm while reading through the intro at 1:07 has me thinking he's The Thing.
I bought this game around 5 years ago, I'm so happy it got a reprint.
Lots of things I loved this video but Jacob at 25:26 is the best
Ryan is such an uncomfortable liar 😂 (I'm only part of the way in but I'm onto you, Ryan)
Ryan isn't here to make a show, he's here to kick ass!
Ryan's not The Thing, he's just never previously mentioned that he used to be in a ska band with The Thing in university.
1:00:00 It was already planned for Ryan being the THING from the very beginning for this amazing content! Expert story telling.
I love Ryan so much! We must protect this man at all costs❤️
23:26 pay close attention to what mando and patrick say here.
I’m deaf what am I missing?
@@Bjhorn279 Mando says he put in the knife, then Patrick says he put in the knife. There was only one knife.
The editing really ties this thing together
Ryan throws so much chaos into every video he's in and I love it
I felt like this entire episode was the epitome of Funhaus members playing "the long con" haha
Board as hell is the absolute best I hope you guys can keep making these. Easily the highlight of my week.
This is one of my favorite board games. I'm glad y'all finally busted it out.
Imagine Ryan being in the movie and his character truly believes he was infected but he really wasn't and he just "transforms" himself by being naked and covers himself with jelly and just screams, jumps and attacks other team members.
Lindsey at 50:46 is a mood
I always wanted this game but only have 2 friends to play with, I loved this episode! Really exciting with so many people
I can’t believe they didn’t realize Jacob was a thing. He supported Ryan and was the only one who wanted to not torch him right away
that whole video was amazing to watch. I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish. would love another!
Damn that ending actually shocked me I trusted them the most.
I am sure that ryan can do a spot on impression of the sound of stirring a bowl of macaroni and cheese
the deception board games are always my favorite 👍
I miss board as hell :(
Holy shit this was a rollercoaster of a video
BEST ENDING!!! chef kiss to all the THINGS!
Wow Jacob really was method acting as Keith David.
Having a clear and entertaining rivalry elevates an already enjoyable series into godhood. Hope for more. Also, Dan is right, there are no better horror movies.
The Thing is the greatest horror movie.
*everybody liked that.*
Love how Dan keeps losing his shit over Ryan🤣
"It removes him from the game...but it's funny."
give my beating heart for just for a few more board as hells

Whoever drew the thing on the white board deserves an honorable mention. I'll be seeing that in my dreams tonight 😆 🤣
This is actually pretty close to the ending of the original. Macready and a Thing get left alone together, mysterious.
10:37 a wild Charlotte appears over Patrick's left shoulder.
Love Board As Hell so much! You guys are great! 🎲
Ryan is the worst payer I have ever seen.
And I love it. He's a treasure.
Skip to 3:35 if you've ever wondered what Ryan would look like with a dorsal fin.
Oh how good it is to be an auhhh an human. An human like all of us, oh yes, humanity, am I right, fellow humans?
** alien noises intensify**
6:23 - Dog Man. After being bitten by a dog, he gained scars.
WOW Jacob mvp of this game. no idea he was a thing.
I would buy a Funhaus x The Thing shirt so fast
Dan looks like belongs in the movie😂
Hell yeah, been waiting for this one since they hyped it up on the podcast!
"Another board game about deceit and betrayal"
I feel like all the board games are like that at this point.
Ohh, I've almost ordered this one a few times. Excited to see this playthrough.
These are the only thing that cures my depression
