Rival Restaurants: the family game about friendly rivalries between restaurants where you work your way to the top with good food Bruce: “I’m playing ARMED ROBBERY on Adam”
17:17 i think bruce is joking when he says that ceasar salad is mexican, and i think they thought joel was just playing along, but joel is 100% right: it was invented in Tijuana, Mexico by Caesar Cardini
Absolutely all star cast, super bummed you couldn't shoehorn Lawrence in as well for the super group but as is it's already super obvious why you founded a RUclips channel together, the chemistry is just palpable. Please keep doing what you do
I think the mechanic would be you can cook a special dish with three tomatoes for which you gain access to the tampon bucket, a special place where you gain abilities related to business but that actually has nothing to do with the cooking.
1:02:20 Elyse throws out the best trash talk to her best friends, but immediately regrets it each time, it's actually the sweetest thing in the world holy shit
I had this on my saved Kickstarter list, but after watching this its moving onto my backed list. Love it that these guys started doing board games so quickly after i started collecting them, perfect timing
This is a beautiful game. Because in reality, even though restaurants compete with one another, there's a bit of some camaraderie with restaurants in the 'trade' aspect. Pretty nifty.
Thanks Carl! One of the developers of Rival Restaurants here. You can check out the Kickstarter page above if you're interested in backing us! No pressure of course :)
To the creators of the board game, if you read this, make the timer have a buzzing sound or some sort of sound where everyone knows the times done. Will make things go faster and know how long they have.
Thanks for the tip! We've got a few things we're working on to address that. Feel free to follow the campaign as it develops: www.kickstarter.com/projects/gapclosergames/rival-restaurants?ref=9jm0yi
Not sure if it's worth mentioning, but it would be hilarious to see you all play Ladies and Gentleman. Please never stop playing board games for our viewing pleasure. Thanks!
Because of this video I backed the game, it arrived last month and my house have loved it, looking forward to playing it again over the weekend. Thank you funhaus
Although I am very happy for Joel, I really miss him being on Funhaus. His personality not only meshes well with everyone else his personality is so unique. These last few episodes have been a treat for the fans.
I don't know about everyone else but, god damn I have never stopped watching and loving this channel since 2015 and here's why: Adam's attitude and sarcasm is my spirit animal. Never stop breaking games. Elyse is a comedic genius with a gorgeous smile. Please be in more videos. James is also a comedic genius with a hot bod. Your political incorrectness gives me life. Bruce's unfiltered comments and laugh are so contiguous to me that I almost laugh every single time he opens his mouth. Lawrence has outstanding passion, enthusiasm, salty humor and quick wit for every game or podcast keeps me on my feet every video. When all 5 (and the others) come together and do what they love for a masterpiece of a channel is truly special. Never stop doing what your doing Funhaus.
The year is 2021. The second funhaus monopoly board has just hit stores. Willems Game n Gym is the world's largest brand, accounting for a tenth of the global economy. Board as Hell is on its two hundredth bonus episode. I've never been happier.
You guys should play Catan, Unstable Unicorns, or Gloom! Seriously look up Gloom, its hilariously dark and I think you guys would have a blast playing it!
Genuinely impressed at the lack of comments giving James shit for not placing his opener in a spot where he's less obviously reading off of it. I mean, _I'm_ not above that, but I'm impressed you guys are.
I honestly enjoy these videos and hope you guys keep doing them if they are working for you guys. I like the role play, the editing and animations are great and make the games understandable, and last but not least, I love Joel being in some of these videos! Hope these videos are successful, cheers!
Here’s the funny part (spoilers): Bruce said he was trying to Stop Elyse, but his last two actions actually guaranteed her win. He moved Joel so he couldn’t buy a lot of Action cards (which potentially could have stopped her) AND he specifically moved Joel to James’ location so James had to pay up and couldn’t afford to get the last ingredient he needed to win.
I remember playing the videogame version of Flushed Away and just spending HOURS on the turn-based combat minigame. It was amazing. At least that's what I remember.
Really one of the only things I dislike about this game is that tofu is constantly sued as a perfectly good substitute for meat, which is entirely unrealistic. You can’t just take delicious meat and replace it with something that tastes either like rubber (if plain) or exactly like what you season it with, has a completely different texture, and doesn’t have the taste of the meat, and then act like that is a perfectly good substitute.
It takes a lot to make a stew, a pinch of salt and laughter too A scoop of kids to add the spice, a dash of love to make it nice And you've got... Too many cooks! Too many cooks. Too many cooks! TOO MANY COOOOKS! Too many cooks! Too many cooks. Too many cooks! TOO MANY COOOOKS!
That fruit/vegetable market barely got rotated out. Nasty moldy avocados on the shelf for a few rounds. Would be interested in seeing another game of this by yall.
Fun fact: shrimp Alfredo was the first dish I ever cooked myself. I bought deveined shrimp but there were still veins in it so I had to pop those poop shoots out, the little bastards
I know it had to be a bit saying flushed away instead of ratatouille. But at the same time I also honestly believed at one point James never was making a bit. He just combined movies in his head. Along with all other rat movies such at Stuart Little and Mouse Hunt.
These board as hell videos are quickly becoming a favorite. Nothing like relaxing on a Sunday afternoon with a board as hell video.
If only their was an expression to describe this...
having a wank?
this guy gets it
Agreed
And it mixes great with alcohol
This is my absolute favorite series that Funhaus produces.
Same. I want more Jon though.
Second for me, I love OpenHaus way too much.
I binged on the whole series this weekend. MORE!
I miss Funhaus' Demo Disks
Funhaus: "We don't need a second season if we just do bonus episodes forever"
All the Board as Hell videos are labelled as "bonus video" and this *IS* season 2 of Board as Hell. They were likely only ever intended to be exclusives for Rooster Teeth's website.
Can't get cancelled if you never stop recording 👉🙄
I think they've displayed it as Bonus Video so that people know that it doesn't replace any other video, but just adds to the pool

Rival Restaurants: the family game about friendly rivalries between restaurants where you work your way to the top with good food
Bruce: “I’m playing ARMED ROBBERY on Adam”
*Everyone manically searching for food and bartering*
Adam sitting sadly at the side:"Anyone got any beans?"
Bruce may be the Dramatic Chef... But James will always be the Queen of Drama.
TobyChimp Na na na na na na
@@treytreytrey song started playing in my head as soon as Bruce said that lol
Please never stop Board as Hell episodes. They are one of my favorite segments that Funhaus does.
WHO WILL CALL FOR MASS
As the cards dictate, me my gate keeper !
I died 🤣
We sure that's not a chicken?
You dare challenge me?!?!?!?!
Nein!
17:17 i think bruce is joking when he says that ceasar salad is mexican, and i think they thought joel was just playing along, but joel is 100% right: it was invented in Tijuana, Mexico by Caesar Cardini
Trust in jole
tony b kinda like German Chocolate cake, wasn’t invented in Germany, just invented by a guy with the last name German
@ three words, lower case, paired with a misspelled common name, doesn't strike you as maybe not being fully serious?
@@Blatty26 Kinda like how "Thai food" is just known as "food" when you visit Thailand.
And no. Just fucking around and not being serious, obviously.
THE1NONLY1 his name is obviously spelled jole you fucking idiot
"OpenHaus but only the moments before James tries to cut to a Blue Apron Ad: The Game"
Absolutely all star cast, super bummed you couldn't shoehorn Lawrence in as well for the super group but as is it's already super obvious why you founded a RUclips channel together, the chemistry is just palpable.
Please keep doing what you do
Elyse ridiculously high win-rate on Board As Hell.
Also Elyse: James is gonna win! We gotta stop him!
She's a tactical genius.
I'll sign on to the Kickstarter if they add a tampon bucket mechanic.
That's a very good reference my friend.
I cant even fathom how old that reference is
I think the mechanic would be you can cook a special dish with three tomatoes for which you gain access to the tampon bucket, a special place where you gain abilities related to business but that actually has nothing to do with the cooking.
That callback tho
CLAUDE...
33:45 The chaos here is SO fucking great. I love it. Looks like a fun little game.
I love these board game bonus vids. Because of it ive started to host little game nights with friends .
KNIGHT OF GODS lmao same love doing our Dice Cast episodes too.
That's awesome!
Can I come
i dont have friends
Play A Feast For Odin. Not as much screaming at each other across the table but a very fun game. Maybe a bit expensive too.
How did u get Ben Schwartz to play board games with you
Sexual blackmail.
No joke, I knew Joel first, and got excited for him when I saw House Of Lies.
After yall discovered that you could buy multiple items in the same shop it became SO much more interesting! nice job!
Joel was actually right about Caesar salad being invented in Mexico... wild.
James and Elyse at 34:40 are so cute
(Smug ass smile) "You sit down~"
55:54 James' reaction was hilarious!
It’s honestly amazing that Joel’s been gone for almost 2 years and slides back in like he never left. Absolutely awesome
Gay elf is back!!
That dude could have been talking about anyone
Cancelled
@@YuggetNugget He meant the gay vampire.
"Vampire"
Adam never left
I think Azura killed Joel with the fork in the studio.
James making fun of Adam: "What is the difference between lettuce and fish"
Also James: "What is the difference between chicken and crossbows"
I’m gonna need more of Joel talking with a Spanish lisp ASAP

I love seeing all these classic friends in the vids together. Big nostalgia feels here
its my favorite vampire joel
This is a beautiful game. Because in reality, even though restaurants compete with one another, there's a bit of some camaraderie with restaurants in the 'trade' aspect.

I actually unironically thought of flushed away at the beginning. I'm sorry
Uroboro how do you sleep at night? Ratatouille is one of the best movies ever, fight me
@@bassguy0076 It's not but it's a great movie and I loved it at the time

7:10 Adam and Elyse have a great exchange that may have gone unnoticed
please bring Joel back as often as possible. just, bring him back to Funhaus please. against his will, preferably.
Same with Bruce 😂
James: "Game actually hasnt been released yet"
Adam on the inside: *BUG TRIGGERING ABILITY ACTIVATE*
I love this freaking show, it is so entertaining to watch. I wish it came out more frequently. And Adam would win for the Adams
The guilty looks from Elyse at the end there lol.

Goddammit I miss Joel so much, it feels like one of your best friends went to a different school or starts studying in a far away city

Thank you funhaus
Although I am very happy for Joel, I really miss him being on Funhaus. His personality not only meshes well with everyone else his personality is so unique. These last few episodes have been a treat for the fans.
I sit here for an hour or so and love watching these videos! FunHaus has probably the best variety of content on youtube.
I’m really happy James is getting his foot in with publishers and making a name for himself within the hobby. I love this show.
Thank you Funhaus for another Board as Hell episode. This is one of the best series, if not the best series you guys have done~~
Always good to see the dream team back together once in awhile. If only it could be permanent. Miss you Joel! Love Bored as Hell too!!
To whomever thought of this series of playing games: Thank You! Easily my most favorite of FH content.
I'll be honest. I completely forgot Flushed Away was a thing. But now I have been reminded of it. That is all.
The escalation of intensity that Joel has starting at 45:42 is the best!
The look in James' face when Elise rip out his heart is so priceless.

im so happy this series is still going it is by far one of their best
Absolutely delighted when I saw Joel, brilliant stuff
The game really opened up when the realized that the rules let them buy more than one thing.
Damn this is a great series. Especially when there's plenty of room for them to flex their comedic skills in-game.

James is the biggest board game fanatic and I always want him to win. This video took me through emotions
I want an Elyse's bits and jokes getting ignored for infinity edit

I didn't realize I'd enjoy watching people play board games so much.. I don't even fucking like board games. What have you done to me, funhaus?!
Thank god this series is continuing. I love it.
You see a fun game for friends and family I see a chaotic mess that’s always a second from complete destruction
That sneak peak of the next episode is the first thing that's made me really want a first membership
So when does Joel end his internship and just stay?
I always watch Board AF before sleep. It relaxes me seeing others struggle. 😂
Already waiting on 2 kickstarter board games but looks like ill be waiting on 3 now

There's no card to empty the tampon bucket or add extra hair to the pasta!! What a roller coaster ride.
This is amazing!
Thank you for this series.
Have you heard of/played the board game THE THING (based on the film)? I think it's right up your alley.

Love this series. I would like a bit more info on how the game works before you start though, like the garbage mechanic and recipe cards etc. :)
Every time I see them reach out so far to get to the cards I keep thinking: "They are searching for a better table, they just have to."

Love the board as hell series keep up the good work
i spend roughly 68% of most board as hell episodes spacing out on the bandaids on the wall
I appreciate how neat and orderly Adams cards are.
