Hi I always watch your videos, I been doing CGM for nearly s year and I really wanna stick with it but I’ve noticed my hair is hugely thinner than before I started, it’s getting really bad, I remember seeing a video of yours a while ago saying ‘is the CGM making my hair fall out’ I wondered If it got better, I’m so close to giving up but I really don’t want to 😔 xxx

I love it, I’ve never damp styled cause my hair is so frizzy and also when I scrunch it causes frizz, but your hair turned out beautiful I’m literally gonna do it now xxx

Hi Swavy, You're fantastic and I love your videos, but it would be wonderful if people in the curly girl community didn't promote products with known carcinogens in them that are also bad for the environment and wildlife after it washes down the drain. The CurlTalk gel has PLASTIC in it, not to mention artificial fragrance that may also be carcinogenic. The ingredient "Acrylates/C10 30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer" is a petrochemical. That brand needs to clean up their act! I'm hoping we women can demand these corporations make healthier products for us, and not push us into cancer risk territory. Let's find beautifying products that are truly natural and not green-washed.

Courtney Ive been having terrible trouble with my scalp showing while doing the CGM because of how thin and fine my hair is. I had to choose between awesome curls but scalp showing or a frizzy mess and no scalp showing, denman styling was the only way to hide my scalp but it just left the curls/waves looking crap. I just tried this after watching your video and I'm absolutely over the moon with my hair! Thanks so much to you and India. This will be my hairstyle from now on 🤗

It turned out great! Been doing Curly for over a year and Not Your Mothers original shampoo should be a staple for everyone. I like to use when I want my curls to last a long time, 3-day weekend trips to 5-6 day trips. It sets the curls better. Maui products are also a staple, no matter what products everyone reviews we all use Maui! Quantity depends on hair volume. I have shorter hair so never use the handfuls that long haired girls need. Use what YOU need. Even though I have my routine down, still watch new vids now + then.

Both you and India have been such a massive help and inspiration to me. It's much harder to find good information for wavy hair, as so much of it is aimed as much tighter curls & coily hair, and is just too heavy for wavy hair. I had my 2b hair perfectly sussed after years of perfecting it, then peri-menopause hit, and my curls completely changed. I'm having to re-learn all over again what my hair needs now to make my curls bouncy & curly again. I thought it was just a fact I was going to have to accept, until I saw your moisture protein video, and realised my hair was suffering from protein overload. It doesn't need anywhere near as much protein anymore, so now I've switched my protein conditioner for protein free conditioner, and my hair is slowly becoming much softer & my curls have gone nuts and look more like 2c curls now!!!! I can't thank you enough for all your videos, it's made a massive difference to my confidence, being able to return my mop of very long, copper curls to it's full glory. My hair has been a huge part of my ideantity, so I felt like I was loosing myself when my curls went dry, coarse & almost staight. Thanks to youtubers like you & India, I feel like the outside of me, looks like me again, and I'm so greatful.

    • @Lily_of_the_Forest
      @Lily_of_the_Forest 4 года назад +6

Jennifer Zapienn I make mine at home. Dissolve 1/2 teaspoon epsom salt in 1 cup hot distilled water. Let cool. Pour into a spray bottle. Add 10 drops lavender essential oil for a nice scent. Spray generously all over. Scrunch well. Let dry. It dries stiff. Don’t panic. Scrunch well again until the stiffness is gone.
Might try 1/4 teaspoon next time since it is quite drying. Only tried it with epsom salt so far. Can use Himalayan Sea Salt. Not regular salt.

I love it! I think the main difference I see between her hair and yours after the same routine is that her haircut layers the top and back of her hair a _lot_ more, which makes it look way more layered and way more voluminous. Yours is mostly the same length, which is why, especially from the back, it looks flatter. Great video!

Wow that's a lot of moisture. My hair is high porosity wavy 2b-3a and if I used conditioner, masks and rinse with cold water I would have greasy stringy curls. It would be ok because each day I find my hair gets drier and drier but it is a terrible disappointment to have such lackluster curls on day 1/day 2 that it only happens occasionally. Hopefully the protein in the mask will help balance all that moisture.

India's hair is more " crazy" for sure like mine, ie, doesnt look exactly polished when brushed out . Indias hairvgets more like cotton candy( mine too) while yours is totally presentable brushed out.
You're both pretty and fun to watch. But you're my fave of all the wavy girls.

Really liked the results! I’m always scared of damp styling but I have the massive wait until my hair is done air drying

Now, I know India is not as strict w/ Curly Girl, however you are, so how do you feel using the two masks that are not CG approved? 😳 I think your hair turned out great ~ ☺️

Great results! I was really surprised there was no “squish to condish”.

I do something similar to indias routine during the week; not brushing my hair once out of the shower, just taking it out of the towels and glazing/scrunching cream/gel in, and air drying. Its easy and fast, gives a looser wave (2b) On the weekend ill define my curls individually with a Denman brush and diffuse, gives more defined curls (2c) but is definitely more work!

ManesbyMel please. I feel like India is a wonderful person but she's heavily sponsored by NYM...ever since she dropped Deva. I own the entire NYM line and its just not my jam. It tends to leave white flakes and residue all over. Plus my hair doesn't last longer than 4 hours.

She still loves the products regardless of being sponsored by them it isn’t her fault if she likes them and they don’t work for you.

I've actually heard it is better to diffuse until almost dry, and then let air dry the rest of the way. Supposedly helps shine! But obviously you have no problem with that!😍

I was always told to apply deep conditioners after shampooing. No rinse out conditioners between shampoo and deep conditioner because rinse out conditioners can leave oils and butters in your hair. Making the deep conditioner not penetrate as good into strands.

I've even using Shea Moisture and Cantu products. My hair isn't crunch ( I'm glad). Maybe I'm not using enough 🤔 I'm thinking I should have got these products too. Your hair is gorgeous sweetheart!

Awe thank you! If your hair has a crunch to it (the cast), you can scrunch it out. This lends to hold and will then give you softer waves/curls.

I’m a Master Cosmetology Instructor if you would do few long layers at ends to remove some weight off your hair it would curl better. India’s hair is processed therefore porous making her hair curl better 😊

I have been trying her styling method.. I had a couple times it turned out ok. I’m starting to think her hair is more of a 3a & the way she styles makes it a 2c. Bc I thought I was a 2b, but looking at my 18 yr old daughter w my hair who has wore natural for 4 yrs, I def have a 2c. I’m new.. & her way for me ends up w smooth hair, but very stringy OR very frizzy from so much flipping & the damp styling.. Not sure what I did the days it turned out great..

I damp style mine but I microplop to towel dry and encourage my clumps then add products with praying hands instead of scrunching at end with a towel which would just rub my products off x

I love it! Too bad nothing works for me.. my hair gets so mad if I do anything but comb it once and carefully apply products. I get wet friz sooooo badly and lose my curls if I touch it too much!
