    Great Review James!! I like The Comparision over the Latest Cameras, And The Images Are Really Great! The ASI 294mm are on my List for Future Purchase. Probably the 2600mm too!?.

    Great review James! As you know, I use a 294MM Pro, but I still own my 1600MM Pro and probably won't sell it. I like that I have a backup in case anything happens to my main camera and it's completely plug 'n play compatible with my imaging train.

      Thanks for commenting Joe! I have no plans to sell mine.. especially at the prices they are going for. Its worth more as a functional camera.

    Nice comparison James, I was lucky to drop into the hobby where I decided on the 2600mc but like you say for value I've seen a lot of people selling there mono 1600 with the filters/wheel as a complete set. Great value for an affordable package.
    Cheers

    Great review James. I love my 2600mmPro but it did cause a bit of pain in the wallet. I still have my 1600mm and plan to use it with the Redcat and the Meade SCT as it is still an excellent camera despite it's age as you say and is an great option for anyone starting into mono imaging, especially if the budget is more restricted. As for the 6200mm, one can only dream :) sigh.

    Awesome comparison vid. Kind of heart breaking there isn't a micro 4/3rds version using the latest sensor tech of the 2600.

    The 1600 is a workhorse. Sure, it uses older sensor tech (the Panny 4/3), but it can still make some excellent images. The only real drawback of it, and you showed it, is the behavior on very bright stars.
    Also, to be fair, you compared a drizzle integration from the 1600 against a non-drizzled integration from the 6200. Drizzling trades resolution for noise. Granted, the sensor in the 6200 (and the IMX571 in the 2600) are MUCH better than that Panny in the 1600... and the data they produce is just absurdly good.

    • @DSOImager
      @DSOImager  2 года назад +1

      It truly is a workhorse. Good point on the drizzle. Eventually I'll pick up a new camera. The 6200 looks real tempting but I currently don't have a scope that would accommodate that sensor. I'll just have to buy a new scope. Oh darn!
