Beautiful! This is so awesome and I too loved Watermark even though I did not listen to anything like it back then. To discover Devin and hear that wall of sound again done just right was a new beginning in my musical journey and no guitar player I have ever listened to and played along with has influenced me more than Devin. It's not about skill and technique or playing the impossibly hard riffs or solos. It's how it all fits together and how it pleases the ears. I learned to play what not only sounds good but feels good.
They're similar as artists too, in that they both use many layers of their own voices to get that wall-of-sound or soundscape sort of effect in their songs.

So for me this is not disappointing at all as I have 100% respect for Devin. It’s actually a very beautiful mash-up!
