I remember sitting in my apartment by myself during covid depressed as hell and ugly crying near the end of this song where he talks about the news making you feel like life is shit but not believing it and life is beautiful. I didn't feel it at the time but he really made me feel it. Really was in a rut and Dev helped get me out of it.

I recently lost my father due to Covid, in our last interaction before he was rushed to the Hospital i presented him to Devin's music, now theres this very clear emotional link with Devin's sound and this song resonates a lot with my battle to overcome and slowly accept life, yes of course good people are dying left and right but the sky is still bright and life is still beautiful. Thank you Devin and band.
My friend my entire life has been shaped by the Metal scene, age 7 I became a Guns N Roses fan , I was lucky to have an older Brother who spent all his money on Metal CD's . The true Metal scene has something no other music genres have , Metal heads follow their beloved bands around the world , we buy their music , we wear their names on our clothing. Strapping young Lad are also the most powerful band I've ever seen live , at Download 2006 they wobbled my intestines , I've endured Slayer mosh pits , lost a shoe in a Pantera crowd surf , but still nobody fucked me up more than Strapping young Lad. So sorry to hear about your father buddy. Devin has the power to bring people together, even in rough times. I hope you can find some solace in the music he's good enough to share with us. You take care, sir.

The past little bit, it's been rough. Waiting to see what's next. I've known I was in an important transition phase tho. Higher to me means exactly that. Feeling at your lowest but not giving up. There was some special chemistry involved in that particular formation. I hope they will reform some day...I LOVE YOU DEVIN !
But he will still be making music bro. At least we get to have that. Devin has just said DTP was really great but it wasn't "right". I don't know what makes him feel like that but the guy is so super talented...Maybe he's a perfectionist. You don't get that good at anything without having an increasingly high set of standards for yourself. Maybe his next projects will be even better. Something about it makes me think everybody else is a sort of boring musician now though, maybe it's an exaggeration, but he's alot more entertaining than the rest. Plus I have every melody of his that I've heard stuck in my deadhead.

Hi. This also applies to "martyr". Take a look to Vai - Sex & Religion - 1993 one_solo_album if you like. I think DT's work is mainly existentialist. Hug.
The new definition of powerful. Every bit of this performance was powerful from the orchestration to Devin's band, to the choir, to the fans feeding it with their own power. I had to fight back the tears at the end. What a performance!!
