    Just a note, the Pro-ject site says to have the yellow (shielded) end of the cable connected to the pre amp or integrated amp. Opposite of what’s shown here

    Thanks for explaining about the anti-skate weight, for the life of me couldn't see the bloody fishing line attached to it when it was in the plastic bag. One thing though - the little triangle adaptor is for 45s, not 78s. Most Australian-pressed 7" singles @ 45 RPM had a small hole in the centre, like an LP. However, lots of overseas 7" singles had a large hole in the middle; that's what the adaptor is for. It even says so in the setup guide - b) Adapter for 7" singles. I have quite a few of them (overseas 45s). Never seen 78s with a large hole like that but that's not to say they don't exist. Cheers.

    • @LutherusPandragon
      @LutherusPandragon 2 года назад

      So in Australia you had same 45s as we had in Europe? That is interesting, i really didnt know that. Thanks for information.

    • @severnsea
      @severnsea Год назад

      Yep, in the UK the adapter is for 7" singles. Back in the day, juke boxes that you found on pubs and the like had to use 7" records with a large center holes cut into them. A lot of US singles also had a large center hole. That's what the adapter is for. 78's never had a large center hole.

    I find pushing the stylus and cartridge as far forward as possible and making it well aligned is also key. I've found that Carbon Evo turntables out of factory require this. By the way the RCA cables need to go the other way around. As per pro-jects instructions "The yellow marked side should always be connected to the receiving end."

Is there any way to correct rpm speed around 33.00 to 33.38 so that I can enjoy the music as before. Is there any way to adjust the rpm speed to 33.33 with motor itself. • @living_entertainment

      It could be the motor. But it is more likely to be the rubber belt is loose. You can buy the as a spare part from the store your purchased the turntable. Or online.

  • @hmrowland6114
    @hmrowland6114 3 года назад +6

    Probably never use the 78 adapter? I think you underestimate the power of shellac. I'm pretty sure that adapter is for 45s not 78s. Great to see the 78 belt included, however, the stylus would ha e to be changed for 78s which have round groves no V shaped.

    • @living_entertainment
      @living_entertainment  3 года назад

      I own this turntable and I can confirm that the adaptor is for 78s with the rocker switch allowing you to swap between 33's and 45's. We do occasionally get people asking us about playing 78's but usually its for preservation purposes.

    I'm so keen on this turntable, but I am so confused with all this pre amp / intergrated amp business. I thought you just bought an amp to go with your turntable? If I like the Cambridge Axa35 amp would that be compatible with the Pro Ject Debut Carbon Evo? 🤔 Ultimately all I want to do is sit in my chair with my headphones on and listen to my albums, maybe sipping on a scotch 🥃
    Please Advise. 😊

    • @living_entertainment
      @living_entertainment  3 года назад +2

      The Cambridge Axa35 has a phonostage built into it so by pairing this turntable and that amplifier you are good to go, especially if your mainly planning on using headphones! I also recommend the Meze Classic 99 headphones for vinyl listening as well, they work exceptionally well and pair with almost every amplifier. :)

    06:00 wrong! Why do you say that?
    As per instruction - As the Connect it E cable is a parallel symmetrical cable the shield is only connected on one end. The yellow mark indicates this side. The marked side should always be connected to the receiving end (i.e. phono stage or amplifier).

    I just set up my turntable this evening and noticed the instructions did not mention the clips on the RCA cables. I saw that another reviewer on RUclips stated that Pro-ject wants the clips to be attached to the preamp side, rather than to the turntable. I'm so confused about which way is correct!

    • @sabualamittath1509

      Correct usage
      As the Connect it E cable is a parallel symmetrical cable the shield is only connected on one end. The yellow mark indicates this side. The marked side should always be connected to the receiving end (i.e. phono stage or amplifier).

  • @Alex-sy5yo
    @Alex-sy5yo 2 года назад +5

    The part about cable connection is confusing. You should actually put yellow marked end of the RCA cable into preamp/amp as it stated in the manual, not into turntable.
    A quote from the Connect It E description:
    As the Connect it E cable is a parallel symmetrical cable the shield is only connected on one end. The yellow mark indicates this side. The marked side should always be connected to the receiving end (i.e. phono stage or amplifier).

      Thank you. I thought the big arrows on mine were a pretty sure sign, and went to Pro-Ject like you did. This video says the opposite.
      Putting on the anti-skate weight is also easier when the arm is rotated.
      Locking screws on hinges were also a surprise. I nearly cracked my cover.

    • @living_entertainment

      No need to feel dumb at all! Great question.
      The Pro-Ject turntable models with a built-in preamp will always have the word “phono” in their name.
      So this model doesn’t have one. But I would recommend the Pro-Ject Phono Box S2 for this turntable.

    I’ve not seen in any video how to level the player. Are those feet adjustable? The place I put mine isn’t very level, there is no way to level the base, if I adjust the tracking force, the arm goes to the inside because of the gravity of the unleveled turntable. How can I level it?

      Hey there, once you get it balanced so that it floats that is your reference of 0 grams weight. So when you then set the numbers to 0 and then twist the counter weight to 1.7, the arm will gain weight and shouldnt float any longer. Hope this helps!

Called store, they took it back right away and next week i will get replacement. If replacement will also have some issues i will ask for full refund, use my old thorens for few more months and save for clearaudio concept wood. also no big deal and i know hifi snobs like it but sntiskeat on fishing rod does feel and look cheap and gheto.
