The war between İbrahim Pasha and Sultana Hürrem gets even bigger on the Magnificent Century!
İbraim gets out of the trap Hürrem has set for him. İbrahim takes revenge on Hürrem after he escapes death. The spy caused Prince Mustafa and Sultana Mahidevran lose their sleeps gets exposed. The spy who has sent to the capital becomes Hürrem's nightmare.
İbrahim manages to get out of the trap set for him and goes back to the palace without losing time. Hürrem gets defeated as she sees him right before her. As İbrahim tells Suleiman everything happened, Hürrem is also present there. This incident causes them fall out with each other even more.
When Hatice learns what happened to İbrahim, she gets frustrated. She looks for a new alliance by worrying about İbrahim's life. Meanwhile, İbrahim wants revenge. He attacks on Hürrem's softest spot.
İbrahim takes Prince Mehmet away from the palace. As Hürrem learns that her son is out with her nemesis, she gets terrified. She starts looking for her prince everywhere. However, only thing she gets is Prince Mehmet's bloody kaftan.
The spy hunt in Manisa continues. Mahidevran gets suspicious about Yahya of Taşlıca and starts cornering him. As he accused of betrayal, he gets obligated to confess the love between him and Mihrimah. On the other hand, Mustafa comes face to face with the spy who's trying to kill him.
How will İbrahim get out of the trap? Will he tell everything happened to him to Suleiman? Who is the spy in Manisa Palace? What will they do to Mustafa?
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Hurrem killed also a lot of innocent person like concubines for instance in the Harem but the worst thing is, she tried to kill Mustafa since his childhood and at the end he gets executed bcs of her evil lies. Ibrahim never harmed any of the shehzade thats the big difference. Mustafa may be his favorite but he never attemted to kill a dynasty member thats a unforgavible crime for which Hurrem should have been beheaded. But however Suleiman never beleived the guilt of hurrem.

They would have solidified the Turkish lands conquered by their ancestors, but would never have reached their goals of Vienna and Rome, as the western powers came to an agreement when the Turkish threat appeared. And a hundred years from Suleiman’s lonely death, thanks to Hurrem depriving him of all his trusted companions, Prince Eugene of Savoy regained all western lands down to Belgrade for the Habsburg dynasty.

He wasn't called "the Great" for nuthin'. Have you not noticed how he rarely gets "angry face" yells or threatens? But, when he does lay down the law, he usually is deadly calm and quiet, and you KNOW just what his eyes are telling you. He also lets people play out their games, while he is always observing and listening. That's why he seems to know everything that's going on before he's told. He is a student of human behavior (before psychiatry) and knows those close to him. His one failing is that he wants to believe the best of those he loves, forgives a lot of them, and for that, suffers deeply when they disappoint his expectations of them. So, he has to hear the arguments outside his door, but he lets things play out, unless there's a dire need for his intervention.

Ibrahim's biggest mistake was taking sides. He should've been neutral.
Yes, he is always siding with mustafa and mahidevran and even with hatice and valide when she was still alive. And this Ibrahim had always been planning to destroy and eliminate hurrem and connive with the powerful snakes in the palace. Therefore, Hurrem have to be smart to protect herself, Mehmet and all her children and even Suleyman himself. Hurrem have to protect Suleyman also because suleyman is too trusting and is innocent about the true traitors to the empire.

There was no birth control back then. As you may take from this series as well as other semi-historical accounts (also actual history), even wealthy and powerful people fell victim to disease and death. Mustafa is the crown prince but he never makes it to the throne, which is a historical fact.
That's why prior to Hürrem there was a single-son policy. If a concubine had a son with the sultan, her sexual relation with him would end. If she had daughters, her sexual relations with the sultan could continue until she had a boy. That's why Mahidevran's pregnancy in season one doesn't make any sense, historically, she never slept with Süleyman again after giving birth to Mustafa.

Basically none, except the legendary cat fight at the beginning with Mahidevran, with hair-pulling and Mahidevran (Suleiman’s Gulbahar) beating Hurrem to a pulp because the very few descriptions of Hurrem were that she was rather short and not especially beautiful.

the expression of Hyrrem seeing Ibrahim alive was the most epic since the begginning. it was hard to tell the difference between her and Suleimans expression which were for opposite reasons
So....Percem Agha was killed by Ibrahim to teach Hurrem a lesson. She was in agony believing Mehmet was dead. Plus, he had to show her the ultimate power of his status.
Thus, another loyal servant of the dynasty is dead. Ibrahim is still claiming he does not kill innocent people. (Let us not forget Leo).

Have you not watched the series? Yes hurrem is no saint by no means but everything she did was to keep herself and her kids safe even if it meant doing bad thing. Let's not forget it was everyone else In the palace that was hostile towards her first. Even Mustafa and mahidevran said to hurrem on multiple occasions that the fate of her and her kids is in their hands. As a mother what was she suppose to do? Allow the river of her sons to rise to the throne and let him execute her and her sons? Because that's what would've happened has Mustafa became Sultan. Even if in the beginning he wouldn't do it his evil mom would convince him eventually. So yes, any good parent would put their kid first

For me, the difference between Hurrem and her enemies is that her enemies are *gleeful* about hurting her. Hurrem doesn't seem to revel in her victories in the same way.

@rastashiealexander4366 We're all biased in some way or another 🤷♀️ There are a few victories where Hurrem seems to feel some guilt or remorse for the effects of her actions on others. I never get the feeling that Mahi feels bad for the pain she causes others, only for the pain she causes for herself. If you feel differently, that's awesome! That's the beauty of media - we can each interpret the show and characters in different ways 😊

Who needs an army? Ibrahim, like a superhero, alone took out a room of assassins! Barely a scratch on him. LOL! He always underestimated Hurrem. He bullied her often, even tried to have her killed by bandits, and she did nothing. Now when he openly threatened her and declared war, he never saw this coming. Once he involved and threatened her children, he's really not long for the world. Ibrahim should've known after scaring Hurrem to her core, that she'd end up sharing her very real fears (even if she cloaked it all as a dream) with her husband, Sulieman, who already was beginning to doubt Ibrahim's loyalty. Especially since Suleiman already had his own nightmare about Ibrahim and Mustafa.

This episode was one of the deciding factor that the Sultan was going to get rid of Ibrahim because he suspected he was the reason Hurrem came to his room upset. He start to get his revenge against hurrem through her kids so the dragon come fully awake. Stupid man don't mess with people kids.

Everything pregnancy related is hilarious in this series. The notion, that they had basically failproof contraception, could for sure diagnose a pregnancy from the first month just from examining the woman (yeah, there are signs an experienced midwife can make educated guesses on, but there's a reason, we use ultrasound instead these days). And no midwife was ever wrong about her diagnosis in the series.
The way, each and every woman goes from zero to (screaming at the top of her lungs) 100, when her labor starts...like no one ever has light contractions at first, ever! Nor is there ever a scene, where the water breaks.
Women don't ever seem to get their periods, either. I mean, I get that they don't make a big deal out of this (I have also never seen a toilet or chamberpot anywhere, but who cares), but it's never even hinted at. Although it would have naturally been an issue, when it came to the 'availability' of the woman is question. Or does the sultan track his women's cycle and never calls for them, when bleeding? 😅. There should have been scenes, where women had to excuse themselves because of ,female issues'.
And yeah ...the darn fainting. Makes me crack up, as well!

I mean, the fact that regular full on baths were mandatory for religious reasons, put them way ahead of Christians of the time in the hygiene department, at least.
That time period is quite fascinating. They had a law based society (including means for common people, to appeal for justice), a lot of trade activity, cared about education, science and art, had a lot of charitable institutions and knew how to successfully integrate people from other cultures/religions (by and large).
It's too bad, they had that thing about having to constantly enlarge their territory and spread their religion over the rest of the earth. Imagine, how much better off the Middle East would be today, if they had focused on successfully maintaining, what they already had and had continued this great civilization, they had going.
But that's what inevitably happens to all great empires, it seems. They grow and grow and then they fall apart.

He said when it concerns Hurrem, better don't talk to Suleiman bc he wouldn't believe it anyway. Also in Suleiman's eyes, they looked like they desperately wanted to get rid of Hurrem, thus creating those "slanders" (even if it's the truth)

Out of the five years that I have been watching this show I watch it once every year. I just now noticed that Hatice where's her crowns upside down. I looked at her so wait a minute, I took a picture, I screenshot that picture, I added that picture by blacking out everything except the crown, and then I turned it upside down I was like OMGOSH! But if you really think about it, she can be wearing other people's crowns but because it's upside down you would never know it belong to someone else or the other character.
