    Liebe Anja, dein Karottenkuchen sieht sooo gut aus! Der wird zum Wochenende nachgemacht!
    Normalerweise backe ich mit Sauerteig nur meine Brote und Brötchen, habe aber noch nie einen Kuchen damit versucht....

      Der ist echt sooo lecker!!! Meine Mutter ist bei nicht-Brot-Sauerteig-Rezepten auch immer skeptisch: "Schmeckt das????". Auf jeden Fall lang genug backen lassen, ansonsten wird er zwischen saftig und klietschig ... 😊🥕💛 ~ Anja

    How would you change the process if you wanted to long ferment the flour?

      Leave out the baking powder, ferment the cake dough in the fridge and add the b. powder right before baking

    I made this two days ago. I followed directions, but the cake turned out dense and as heavy as a cinder block.

      Oh no! Next time you make it increase the baking powder to 3 tsp. Hope this helps!

      @@OurGabledHome I made it today with 1 1/4 cups brown sugar and it was lightly sweet but fine with the frosting.
      I did notice you say 1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder in the video but 1 1/2 teaspoons in the written recipe - I went with teaspoons. Also the vanilla is more in the written recipe (2 tsp) but I like more vanilla anyway so 2 tsp worked well also. It's such a good way to use sourdough discard and I will definitely make it again. Big thanks for sharing your recipe.

    I am confused about the amount of baking powder! The video says 1 1/2 Tablespoons and the printed recipe says 1/2 Teaspoon. I am thinking it should be 1 1/2 Teaspoons of baking powder. Thanks !!

    I made a carrot cake ahead of time to take to my grandmother's for Easter! The layers are frozen right now and I plan to thaw them and assemble the day before. I will have to try your recipe next time and incorporate the sourdough. Your method for sourdough is working well for me so far! I'm so glad I heard about you through @marysnest and @farmhouseonboone.
