My mom was like Esther's mom.. Did everything. I had a rough time learning responsibilities and how to do things as an adult. BUT my dad was an abusive alcoholic so I had a ton of trauma on that side. Like Esther, I made my mom sleep with me for years when I was little. Once I woke up and she was gone. I was 7 and scared and started crying. Did she come back? No, but my dad came in and punched me in the face multiple times and told me to stop acting like a child so there's a bit of a difference there 😂

It sounds like he's rude and controlling, but maybe a great hang for grandma when they're alone. She's not a baby, she's as full grown as it gets. She's only had one man, but she's still lived an entire lifetime. Let her have this experience one more time, if she wants to. Understand that this is it for her. She knows how old she is. Bruce knows how old he is. They are already beyond life expectancy. They want connection. She doesn't exist to be grandma, sitting at home waiting for your visits. She exists to live her own life how she wants to. You can actually just support her in telling him that she doesn't like being pressured when you're having the boundaries talk with him.
