Great video Tom, it can be so hard to know when to draw the line. One of my favourite bits of advice is whether you’re working for free or getting paid for it, always do your best work. You never know who’s going to be looking at it.
I don't know how you only have 330 subscribers. Hopefully your videos gain way more traction. Awesome content and advice. Always a fan of your work sir! Keep crushing it. Cheers!
I guess this needs to be tempered with whether you feel you are being taken advantage of and what you're personally getting out of the work, whether that be pictures or building relationships etc
Thanks for this advice Tom!
My pleasure!
Great insights here. This would work in many trades other than photography. Gotta pay those dues! Excellent video, Tom. 🙌
Well said. I agree 100%
Thanks fellas!! Dues must be paid. 🤘🏻

Solid advice! I love the concept of working for free as a way to map out your interests and passions with photography.
Great way to explain the thought process to consider taking free/comp / trade work.
Thanks homie!

Tom if you ever went to some kind of pay for video plan I would 100% pay for education from you!
I’m currently doing photos for a knife maker that I found by happenstance. Do you have suggestions for finding clients?
start shooting and showing your work on social media. reach out to everyone (but don't annoy them) and the work will come!
Yes, I’m willing to. Hehe
I especially like “ assist until it costs you money”.
