@@Skyfire-x this would be a great idea for a video, series swap! 😁 Tbf, Chris and Connor love their baths and chill times too but a Wacky weekend with Sharla and Ushka would be fun
I'd legit love to see an on going series like this. I guess we already kinda do have one with how many little local adventures the pair go on together.
Yeah I'm sad the light rail stations in Seattle don't have them. There's even icons for each station. I guess since our stations are not big enough to be manned there's a vandalism and maintenance vulnerability. 🤔
@stephanieok5365 Good point about the vandalism part. I live in Denver, and that would be a problem at our lightrail stations, too. Sounds like we both need a trip to Japan to collect stamps! Hahah
this is random but i really appreciate how you use the chapters feature, it's so nice. i have awful adhd, so usually i have to spend ages re-finding where i was in a video if i get distracted by my surroundings 😂 but with these really specific chapters it's a much nicer experience since i can come back to where i was without feeling lost. cheers!
When I was a university exchange student in Japan, they organized a trip to Kamikochi and Hida Takayama. I remember how beautiful it was and how as the bus drove through the mountains, you could see the mist rising from the trees. I’m surprised you didn’t mention the kappa-themed souvenirs that could be found in all the shops in the area!
Every time I see videos from you or Chris, it just makes me want to come to Japan more and more. Absolutely stunning. I'm not a fan of big cities, but the affection Chris shows for North Japan in his videos are palpable and have rubbed off on me, and make me want to come to Japan, avoid Tokyo and just head North... then there are videos like this that just help make Japan feel like the idyllic place to live. Hustle and bustle in cities is available, but so are views like this, not to mention you can also head south and enjoy a more Caribbean type experience, if that's your thing. Everything always looks so utterly clean, and.... as I already said, idyllic! Thanks for sharing, I feel homesick for a place I've never visited!
Bear security is very important. Carrying bear bells, and in the U.S. pepper spray, is essential. Also while out on the trail it's important to be able to identify bear droppings. They'll often smell of pepper and will contain bells.
A new international name of this town - Kamikochi - is now becoming - Kamikozy 🥰 What a hidden gem of a place to recharge ones batteries and just zen out - and the food!!! 😍🤩
My sister loves hiking so the first place we went to after we arrived in Japan was Kamikochi (well we did a daytrip from Matsumoto). I'd been to Japan multiple times before but that trip brought me to many places I hadn't been to before, because she's not that interested in big cities. Our trip was in November so this video makes me want to go there in summer/early fall as well!
Tip from someone who lived in bear country: bear bells don't actually work - if anything they attract bears because they're interested in the sound. We used to jokingly call the bells "dinner bells." Bear spray, hiking with a partner and staying loud on the trail are the best way to deter bears.
I wonder what the bears temperaments are like in Japan. I'm in black bear country in America and we just yell, "Hey bear!" and they usually leave. But brown bears won't hesitate to eat you.
I'm guessing they are looking for some animal they can only see at night. My husband told me he remember an anime where people were looking for beetles in the dark with flashlights. You need to join them next time! 😆🥰 I'm saving this video. I need to go to this place.
i'm planning on going on a night hike to see nocturnal animals (& stars hopefully) my next camping trip! i've seen kangaroo rats & bats :) i think where i hike they make you take red flashlights or black lights (which makes some creatures glow) tho so you don't mess up anyone's night vision
10:35 Maybe they just like to night hike. XD I'm from Germany and I looooved night hikes when I was a child and it was always a special adventure for me. Well, I have to say that I lived in a village, and I'm not sure if this is a very common thing elsewhere. We did night hikes during class trips and even when we were still going to the kindergarten (then we walked with lanterns). When I was a bit older, I went camping, and they also organized night hikes where people tried to scare us. So I'd totally be up for walking there at night as well, haha. 😆
Jup, I live in Germany as well, and we often did nightly hikes/scavenger hunts with the music club, and some of the supervisors did little jumpscares. Fun times

Yeah I always wondered if they were a good idea😅
That's a good point. I buy yearlings just being curious instead of deterred.
To be fair, that part of Japan would only have Asian Black Bears, who are very shy and reclusive. They don't often come close to humans.
I thought the same thing when I saw the sign post with the hanging bell "Oh, that's nice of them to announce dinner's here." 😅
I wonder what the bears temperaments are like in Japan. I'm in black bear country in America and we just yell, "Hey bear!" and they usually leave. But brown bears won't hesitate to eat you.
