O man but do i disagree. and funny thing is when i started the bottle i would have agreed, i was thinking, dang i made a mistake, altho i know alot of people will be impressed and enjoy this so still not terrible. That said, once i got past the shoulder, i started enjoying this so much, its almost gone now and its only been a few months. Thats a record for me..ive got oogys and corrys and other bottles i love that i opened years ago, and theyre not finished..but this 2023 is amazing quality. Is it super interesting? No, its just a really solid bourbon cask quality vanilla and a lil fruit from the sherry casks, that classic macallan sherry note is barely in there to its detriment but once u enjoy it for what it is who cares. The mouth feel is incredible, has that macallan velvety quality, which compliments the vanilla and maybe pear fruit profile. Anyway... I love it, and will miss it when its gone..its easy to drink..no spice, no off notes. Nothing is wrong at all but i guess its too "boring" for some.
Bought the macallan 12 y old sherry oak today..got it for 100 euro. Worth the price in my opnion. Had a tasting few months back.discovered the belgium whisky made by the brugse whisky company and was really impressed by the makings. The canasta sherry cask and champagne cask were really nice when i tasted them. The moment they went online sold out in 13 seconds. Batch was like a little over a hundred both. Managed to get 1 each. Try it out if you can find them.
During COVID discover many single malt brands from far MACALLAN my favorite one, but it's becoming too expansive like Rolls Royce problem can't switch to another brand with same deepness of flavor and quality !😥

So why are the prices of Macallan classic cut in the secondary markets keep going up in price?
Macallan is always hyped and with all whisky we like different, I do not like the the classic cut but believe it or not there are people who do😂

Macallan 12y sherry oak is a great pour and in Sweden only 70euro, will try to find them out👍🏻
