  • Sorry about some of the video from my PC not showing all the windows. The way it works is each window in fusion 360 is considered a separate window I need to capture and I didn't want to just share my whole desktop for security reasons. The main things that didn't show up are to get to change parameters, go to "modify" on the top of the window then "change parameters". Then in that window you can change the cone dimensions. To export the 3d printable files right click on the object you want to export, for example "cone". Then go to "Save as Mesh", and export it as an obj file for most 3d printers.
This video goes into depth about how different sized cones and tubes can be supported on the EEW Cone Winder. Most people don't need the full details of this video as they can just have someone else 3D print the parts they need.
You can read more about 3D Print parts here: www.dreamingro...
I'm still adjusting these files, but when they are released they will be called "
"EEW Cone Winder Parts" here: www.printables...

I have been looking forward to this since you first mentioned it. I can't wait for the Kickstarter!!!
ETA: Now that I've watched the video, I'm also really excited for the tube option. The cone winder has been my primary need, but adding a tube winder will just make it my go-to winder. I need cones for my CSM, but they aren't ideal when I'm prepping my yarn for weaving with my sectional warp beam. I need tubes for that. You've solved my issues with one product! :)

Can you make cakes with this?

    • @DreamingRobotsBlog

It can't make yarn cakes. It is designed to wrap yarn around a cone or tube. There are advantages to doing a cone over a cake and I'll talk about those in the Kickstarter when it launches. I thought about making a ball winder to make cakes, but there were a lot of devices doing that out there already so I did this because I could help this part of the neglected market.
