- Rajang strongly resembles the Blangonga in its appearance and movement, even borrowing some of its attacks. However, notable differences include Rajang's broader muscles, large horns, hairy tail tip and its ability to use electricity-based attacks. The most notable attack is its ability to shoot electricity from its mouth, either as a blast or a beam. They are hated by many hunters, due to their combination of speed, aggression and power. They are also well known for their dramatic Rage Mode, in which much of the fur on their front body rises and becomes gold.

I've played with a friend who plays monster hunter for the first time and i told him to not wake the monkey. He attacked the monkey. Rajang grabbed him instantly and killed him and we lost the quest. It was really funny

Love the fact that his battle theme is Hindu/Nepal inspired since monkeys are sacred animals in those parts of Asia, he truly is the Golden monkey god of lightning: Fierce and aggressive, Strong and powerful, Persistent and unrelenting
Yet Rajang's Title is The Gold Lion. Confuses me every time. Looks more Ape than Feline. Should be Golden Monkey instead.
@@Mr_Rathalos I think it's just for the sake of the name. Rajang has a gorilla-like upper body, a baboon's face, opposable thumbs, he sounds like a massive ape and beats his chest. He's definitely a primate, not a big cat

I love that Rajang mostly sleeps when he appears in quests... Meaning that you either have to be extremely stupid, incredibly clever, incredibly brave, or all three if you want to awake the monster. Rajang literally became the shopkeeper from most RPGs, not scary at first glance but when awoken he just becomes unstoppable.
That or he knows he's too good for you to be worth his time
Rajang is so dangerous that he literally sleeps wherever he wants because little to no creatures would actually wanna bother it.
@@slenderhatesmillennials195 He even sleeps chest out, completely exposed, because he knows only two things are even going consider _attempting_ to wake him up: Deviljho, or a Hunter.

People complaining about Rajang being "too slow" in Rise forget that in World, Rajang was a Master Rank Exclusive, so of course he'd be slower in high rank..

@@bottlegang3187No joke, I would just tank Rajang's Final Flash in Rise, by using Invincible Gambit, with my Switch Axe. The strategy works so well that I always manage to break its horns so quickly because of it. The first time I fought one in World, I had 5 times where I had basically a centimeter of health left, before somehow beating it. I couldn't believe how much faster and unpredictable it was in World.
This sounds more mystic or legendary, i mean, in the lore Rajang is a misterious beast, a legend, and seeing the estethic of Rise, this is very accurate in my opinion
... Mysterious isn't quite the adjective I think of when seeing it. Which is a shame. Cuz aside from what I know of them (mostly that they eat Kirin horns) I don't know much.

@@Gazing-09 Its mysterious since in lore a Rajang is very rarely sighted or reported. Since most who do witness it die before they can report it.

I really like this version of the theme. It really makes it seem like you’re fighting in a deep jungle against a powerful foe.

I like the rise theme, its like a remix of the orignal and world and something new spiced on top.
I my opinion to quiet but gets louder so i'll give them the benefit of the dout their.
If someone is comparing the themes of rajang in rise and world let me put it to you this way. The emotion behind these two songs is different and is meant to convey a different feeling. Rise’s song is mystical and ancient. The man singing and the instruments give off the feeling your fighting an ancient god. Like the monkey king for example which rajang is based off of. Rajang’s theme in world gives off the impression that your taking a nice stroll when a gorilla comes out left field to rearrange your organs from top to bottom in alphabetical order. Rajang in rise feels mystical and powerful like an ancient god (despite being much easier cause of the wire bug). World rajang feels like “oh shit it’s the monke oh god oh jesus why”. Both themes are accurate in their own respective manner.

@@kengiskhan6337 ehhhh kinda, but that's a bit of a stretch? Specially depending on the distance from which part of India, like, southermost with Nepal. But culturally-wise and ethinically-wise Nepalese are closer to Tibetan Chinese than to India, even in terms of Language and Religion (let's drop the fact that all Past Middle East Asia has India religous traces, cuz it's a common denominator, just for the sake of the argument you know, otherwise comparing gets hard). Anyway, even in Music I think, cuz Tibetan and Nepalse muic seem to have more influence fim Mongol music than to India style of music.
And even tho It wasn't the point we were making, I don't even know If Nepal has monkeys, and If they, I bet they are smaller and not so varied as in India? Just guess

I know we see Blagonga first, but that's giving too much credit to Blagonga. It is nice to see how the word "strongly" was used to compare Rajang to Blagonga though, because that is just the start of how much better Rajang is lol.

I love this new version but the world version jus did something to make me more hype during the fight. All of Rajang’s themes are bangers
You don't get how epic this truly is until you watch your friend kill two of these things at the same time while he has a literal spider crawling on his back AND it's suffering a sudden testicular torsion and still WINS

i love the kinda goofy vibe Rajang has despite being such a powerful monster
When he goes super saiyan, you best hope you got some proper protection against thunder.
When there’s no puppet spiders to ride rajang, so you have to be sticky and wake the monke up and hope to god not to get killed or get a teammate killed in the precious to damage a muddy cat snek
For me, it's:
Bounce off of Small Monsters, land Diving Wyvern, Profit.
Iceborne taught me a valuable lesson... Don't F*** around with a Rajang, unless you want a fist in your face.

To be fair there is absolutely no way they can surpass his theme from world, but this is a good attempt to at least!
Worlds theme wasnt good as well. The original still the best imo
I love world’s version. If I wasnt fighting for my life every time it played, I’d be dancing to it because I love the jazzy feel of it

I mean just because they've made a new arrangement of a theme doesn't mean their trying to surpass an old one. This remix is most likely done more to fit in with the vibes of the other Rise songs.

I like Rajang, especially if I’m hunting another monster, then I can send it hurtling into a Rajang so I can mount it to beam attack my quarry to death :)
Best part is Rajang usually leaves the area I’m in afterwards so it’s mostly harmless
Also I like its armour set in Rise. It looks cool

God I hope they buff him in sunbreak. I need to have my face smashed into a rock, but nothing in Rise satisfies that need.

I like this way better than in world. Imo the mhw theme was incredibly bland and boring, and here the different instruments give it way more personality.

Most of the Rise themes feel like side-grades to me, not notably better or worse. It's the same for me here, but I do miss the bongos and funky bass.

It was crazy how weak and easy he is in Rise vs World like my god, he was an end-boss reduced to mini-boss it felt like.
Highrank Rajang was dissapointing, Masterrank Afflicted Rajang on the other hand was amazing.

Am i the only one who find rajang incredibly weak in this Monster hunter game ? Even in iceborne he wasn't that strong but here he's sooooo slow and don't hit hard...
Yeah feels like every attack got a hitbox adjustment and his speed generally went down. The only significant buff that he had was the grab does good damage now, if you don't have a wire bug to get out of it.
He's high rank in Rise, not G/Master rank.
@@WolfWouters Yeah, that's what I'm waiting on too, hehe. I remember having to hunt 3 G-rank Rajangs for MHGenU to unlock something. Can't remember what, but my god, it was an endurance.

I hope people in the comments are not serious with how hard they think Rajang is. This is probably the easiest incarnation of him to this day.
Hell yeah it is. He’s slow and he got his damage nerfed. It also seems like he got his hitboxes shrunken down, which would be a good thing if they didn’t get shrunk so bad that I legitimately feel bad for Rajang now. The only remnants of his previous reign of terror is seen in his armor, which is (unsurprisingly at this point) playing its part in the meta.

Because Rajang clearly isn't and the music isn't Egyptian at all. The music is more like a Tibet/Hindu to which Rajang's name is based on.
Idk where you get the Egyptian vibe. But this one fits him more correctly than the iceborne one. Focusing on his mysterious side as he is one of the monsters that the guild has little information.

secondly, there is nothing mysterious about rajang. the iceborne theme suits him more because it is a perfect reflection of Rajang's savage brutality and it's lust for kirin horns.
Third, I thought rajang's name was a play on words of Raijin, the japanese god of thunder, especially since RISE is milking every single drop of japanese mythos into these monsters as humanly possible.

@@GojiraFan-in9oo Rajang's name is based on a Hindu name Rajan. Which means A king, a Sovereign. Also he's not based on Raijin. That's reserved for the final boss of Rise. He's more of a Nue
Also I worded that wrong he's more of a mythical beast lore wise because again the fact that the the guild has basically no information on him due to his nomadic nature
And no Egyptian and Hindu music are different
