  • In this video I design and 3D print Headlights for my 2017 Chevrolet Silverado! This is my story of how I did it in 17 days. In a nutshell, I went out and bought a CR Lizard 3D Scanner, scanned the headlights of my truck, designed a concept to fit within the bounds, printed it and used addressable RGBW LEDs to bring it all together!

Thanks! One thing I would change is to have the LEDs closer to the exterior lens/filament, I found that they had a hard time competing with direct sunlight. Hope it works out!

I updated the links in the description to what I purchased, but in a nutshell:
      - LM2596 drops 12v to 5v to power the LEDs
      - LM2596 USB drops 12v to USB to power the ESP32
      - ESP32 is the brains where WLED is installed.
      - Logic Level Converters take the signal from the ESP32 which is 3.3v and convert it to 5v, then pass it along to the data wire on the SK6812 LED Strips
Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

Finally someone using 3D printer for car projects
Man your project is awesome, but you know 3D-printed parts are not durable
So if you could make up some mold out of 3D print models and turn them into resin it would be more durable

Thank you! Depending on the application I might have to do that in the future!

That level of detail is not possible by hand with that scanner.

I was surprised how well it worked after a bit of practice! You can see better pictures on my website of what the final STL resolution was, thanks for watching!

Great idea, shows the possibilities with 3D printing. With that being said this looks 🤮
